- After performing only 3 songs our concert in Kearney, MO got postponed due to a large rainstorm with lightning. We were sent to wait out the storm under a pavilion at the Amphitheater. Sadly, the storm was not going to pass within a decent time and our concert got called. Rather than just send us home broken hearted the guys trudged through the downpour to where several of us home fries were hoping and praying the show would go on. I started recording as soon as I realized they were going to announce something and I'm so glad I did! You get to see just how much these guys care about us, their fans, and how funny they are! Their performance of "How Great Thou Art" was breathtaking and brought tears to many eyes, mine included. It was complete with God's thunder, some flickering lights, and wind blowing Tim's hair. While I would have loved to seen the whole concert I wouldn't miss this moment for anything! This was my third concert and they did not disappoint! That's as acapella as it can be! Five men, no amps or speakers, lousy acoustics and they sounded like an entire choir! (literally) simply beautiful . . . .
Not to mention it was recorded from the side, affecting the blend of their voices on the recording. Brilliant
What makes this even more special was that this wasn't planned, there were no special tricks to get vocal effects or a huge sound. This was just them, doing what they do best and are so amazing at. Singing, with incredible talent and skill.
I love this! The ancient Hebrews said that when God spoke from the mountain calling Moses up,it sounded like thunder. Just as they were singing, I will bow in humble adoration, the lightning flashed and the thunder cracked. You can see Adam smile. He understood what it meant. These men are so loved because they go extra step for their fans. They could have left,but walked to the shelter to sing for their fans. There is no hubris among them.
Only time known to man that so many people were totally quiet listening to the gentleman sing. They’re a class act!,
