I’ve got a 2017 Polaris sportsman 850, I bought it 3 years ago used, since I bought it every time I start it I’ve got to give it a little throttle for it to start. When it’s warmed up you usually don’t have to. I’ve checked the throttle body it’s clean, I’ve changed the spark plugs and all of that stuff. Do you think my valve adjustments being out of wack could cause my issues?

I have a polaris 1000xp sportsman when I adjust the Mag side at TDC then rotate to the pto adjustment, when done do I rotate it back to Meg side or just leave it on the PTO marks and put it back together.
@@onebdcuda the best way would be to siphon it out of your tank with a siphon hose and then put fresh gas in it and possibly use starting fluid to get it going. How long has it been setting?

No. Sounds like a vacuum leak, dirty air filter, or plugged exhaust.

You might be able to do it with less I rebuild the engine in it.

I’m not sure on the 12 but that is how I set all of them. The first 850s were 0 and the 19 and newer ones the books again say 0.

I adjustment the vales and put it back together now my fan is not working.

It’s fuel injected, there are no carburetors

Manual says 0.00 clearance, have the bearing to lightly touch the valve….
That is on the newer machines. I believe it’s 2017 and newer the first generation 850 and 1ks have a different lash adjustment.
