- After a ton of travel and trying out different ways to pack this is what works best for me. I have everything I need to be comfortable, prepared for reasonable “what ifs” and nothing extra. I don't need every single item for every trip but I'm showing you everything I could pack depending on the location/length of trip/weather and it all fits into a 3 liter bag. Technically I could travel with a bit less but everything listed here makes me feel like I have a little bathroom home away from home. Thanks for watching!

These tips are spot on. I shared your channel with my 16 year old daughter. I hope she can use your useful ideas, thoughts and cautionary tales. Peace and Love
Aww! Thank you!
@@JanellKristina no thank you love
Currently in my freshman year of nursing school, you are so inspiring to me and I can wait to see the travel nursing videos ❤️
I hope the semester is treating you well!
shampoo bars!!! are great for traveling, they double as body wash as well....Lush carries them, they are a bit pricey but they go along way...for long travels and limited space they are perfect...especially for us who have short hair, its the best, no packaging although you can keep it in a small tin for less messy carryon
Thank you SO much for this vid. I'm taking my first-ever trip outside of North America in May, and since I've never packed carry-on only, this is super helpful.
I hope you have a great time!
omg i love everything in this video. you are definitely a MASTER packer!
thank you!
♥️ totally love your channel and energy so relaxed and your vids a truly relaxing for my calm earthy nature 🙏🏼
Love this video, will definitely look into getting those bottles. so tired of everything leaking! Thank you for posting
thank you!
I love your videos and how you go about your life, it's really inspiring, in a friendly, non-judgemental way 💖
thank you
I’ve been watching minimal packing hacks videos for a while, yours is much more detailed and helpful re toiletries. Thank you♥️
Also, I’ve shaved my head (for health issues) and I’m thinking of keeping it short when it grows just like you :)
I tried to make it that way thank you for noticing and you may as well try it out when it's convenient :)
You are blessed to look great in long or short hair! I’m going on a trip soon, so thanks for the video. 🌸
Such a good idea to bring a sink stopper! I'm a terrible over packer and I've been wanting to try washing clothes by hand when traveling so I won't need to pack so much. I tried to hand wash things while I was in Hawaii last year, but it wasn't quite as easy as I anticipated. I'm currently replacing clothing items (as they wear out) with lighter, natural materials and ones that are easy to hand wash.
Love that exfoliating mitt, too.
Thank you for the tips/packing ideas!
It comes in handy on trips that I have to hand wash things!
Wow I’ve literally never seen some of those products you suggested! And I didn’t know they made tampons that small, this video was the greatest many thanks!
I found a lot of them watching other peoples videos haha, I just curated my favorites
PERFECT video for what I was thinking about this week. Since I moved I noticed I had a lot of bathroom stuff...I move a lot hopefully not as much now! haha. I have a travel bag thats similar and thats what I use to store my stuff. I never have anything laid out. I am happy you made this! Thanks!!
thank you!
Great tips! Thanks so much!
Folding scissors life changing!
they really are!
Wow! You seem like you're always super prepared when you travel! Bring the bare minimum for toiletries when I travel
Aww you were still sick lol, I hope you’re feeling better by now!
I love this so much! Thank you for sharing this!!! xoxo
thank you! You're always one of the first to comment on videos I appreciate the support
VVery impressive, personally the only thing I would change is getting a travel size version of my favorite styler.
Jimmy Choo Illicit is my favorite too!! Good taste☺️
I love the scent! It's my only perfume
The last swab is a silicon reusable Q-tip, might wanna try.
Thank you! I see those hospital bandaids 😋
Elizabeth Landes haha! You should see my little first aid kit 😅
Wow. That's à lot of products!
Discovered your channel a month ago when deciding to look into minimalism and I've been loving your content ever since. I hope to be able to travel as much as you do soon. August will be my first trip before starting university😁 I guess my travel carry ons will be less since I dont wear makeup 😂 but still love the video🙌🏽
It took me seven years of work and school to get here I'm so happy it paid off, you'll get there too! And thank you!!
@@JanellKristina Thank you I will do my best
always interesting :)
You looks so good with your hair ( first time on your channel ) but it’s true
Awesome vid per usual
thanks mate!
Janell Kristina haha how did you know
I’m Australian ?
The deodorant she showed is great! It can last up to a year and is all natural. Like she said, it's not an antiperspirant but it elimates odor.
Your videos are amazing!! Also I love your necklace - where did you getit from??
cool! I use a very big deodorant, so shampoo and body wash are all in one and in a solid form. most of the space is usually taken up by sunscreen and insect spray
and wow how do you get scissors through security? do they just miss them because they are collapsible?
@@lamureon under 4 inch blades are allowed!
@@JanellKristina I'm gonna try and buy a rounded pair of scissors.. always had problems in europe
I wish you safe journeys!!
I love travelling as well, and when it comes to toiletries, I might be packing even less than you, just because I prefer shoving extra clothes in my bag, that's all... :p
that's awesome! I like the amount I have and I can't stand when my elbows are ashy so I go for extra of that lol
@@JanellKristina oh don't get me wrong, my travel art supplies are almost as twice as your toiletries, it's all about priorities!! :p
By ashy elbows, do you mean hyperkeratosis? Because I have that and a bepanthol cream has helped me a lot, as well as a dead sea salt scrub. ;)
0:30 cute cut 😅
One little caution to put out there about the Go Tubes - which as Janell says are made of silicone rubber. A lot of hair and skin products have silicones in them (dimethicone and other, similar substances). They are used as "slip" agents in cosmetics. But they can sometimes damage the silicone rubber of the Go Tubes, and I think leach some of the chemicals used to make the silicone rubber into the product you have put into the tube. I've had that happen with a hair conditioner, and also a sunscreen that I used to use. (I have since stopped using products with silicones in them - with very rare exceptions, like I have a tube of Paula's Choice mineral sunscreen that I am still using up.)
I didn't know this :/ how do you tell if that's happened?
What airline do you usually fly with??? I love your videos btw!! 💗
Gotta love Dr. Bronner's!!
That’s cool! What do you do if you are going for a really long trip where you might need more toiletries than what you can pack in those silicone liquid containers? PS I love those container, but have hair similar to yours (when it was long) and I use a ton of gel per styling (q 3 days).
PPS also assuming somewhere out of country where you can’t just buy the specific hair product you use...
You can carry a razor, nail clippers, cuticle removers and other sharp things as a carry-ons? Also, could you do a video on the clothes and other things that go in the carry-on, please? :)
Angela M If I remember correctly scissors or small knives are okay as long as the blades aren’t longer than a certain number of inches.
hi dear
i m new follower from morocco - i love so much how you live and your style also
will - can you tell me where i can find this kind of this 3:05 !!
and thank you
Do you bring the nsil clippers/scissors on the plane with your carry on bag? I figured TSA would confiscate them.
Both are allowed! www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/scissors
Why don’t you get the malaria shot! Love your video!!
The most effective prevention would required me to take antibiotics everyday for three and a half months and I that's not something I wanted to do for several reasons including the risk in the areas I'll be in. Thank you!
Can you do a video on your views on vaccinations or just medical stuff in general?
You have such an interesting perspective on things so it’d be cool to hear your ideas
For sure :)
Didn't know you travel this much! Which place do you plan on visiting next?
I'm going to India for two months in March and I'll be a nomad and travel nursing when I come back to the states!
@@JanellKristina That's amazing! Good luck!
Your jacket is so cute! Where did you get it? :)
it's from lulu lemon
so want to see your daly make up !! can you do it ? pleaseee ??
Soon!
You surprised me a little when you said you didn't always need sunscreen! How do you go about daily UV protection, if at all?
You pack so smartly!
My brown usually gets me by, although I'm really pale (for me) right now since it's winter
Please wear sunscreen daily all yr long, most especially on your face. I have been in my field of radiation oncology for almost 12 yrs and I have seen how nasty skin cancer gets...as in it gets uglier as we treat it. The sun/skin cancer does not discriminate and the melanin in your skin should never be considered "natural sunscreen" no matter how dark your skin. Please know that I'm not trying to scold you about sunscreen but rather aiming to debunk extremely dangerous/irresponsible misconceptions regarding the need or not for sun protection for you and/or your viewers.
When are you coming to India ?
Thank you for sharing! What is the name of your HUGE floor plant?
I have no idea :( I got it when it was TINY and very sickly from a home depot
LOL :-)
Thanks! @@JanellKristina
@@socialwork30 looks like a bird of paradise to me :)
Maybe... Thanks!

Does the bag you have your liquids in meet the 1liter requirement ? Like do you get through security without a problem? I recently went to London and they literally took all my toiletries because they didn’t fit in a 1 gallon bag 😭
Maya Dunbar yes that clear bag is the max size and the little bottles are under 3 oz
How do you travel with mini scissors, nail clippers and a razor? I went from the USA to my home in Canada and they confiscated them from me since I only had a carry on backpack :( so k don't travel with those things anymore.
Scissors are allowed if under 4 inches, so are nail clippers and non safety razors? I've never had any issues with them, I don't think you should have either :(
@@JanellKristina that's really strange :( I met all those requirements and they still took them away. I didn't want to fight with them so I just gave in and said fine. As a Canadian travelling home I was kind of scared so I didn't wanna cause a ruckus but thank you for that info. ✌️💗
I was also surprised about the scissors & the razor... as well, has security in any country ever asked you to unpack your liquids & put them in a clear bag? @@JanellKristina
Girl I don't use half of those and my bag looks a tiny but bigger but I still struggle to fit stuff even just for a night at my grandparents' house! It's like my stuff just expands no matter how few things I try to pack but everyone else's just shrinks to fit in the bag 😂
By the way there are anti malarial herbal products. One I think is called Omaria and it might be for sale in India. I've not tried it so can't vouch for it but malaria drugs were awful to my gut so I can't take them.
I didn't know about the herbal options I'll have to look into it!
If I'm going to families house I don't bring soap and towels I just use theirs. I do bring my own hair products but I only pack 5 outfits and one or 2 pajamas its really nice to have less when you travel, all about needs vs wants. What you use daily is most important
@@JanellKristina I've been learning a lot more about herbs and supplements from Stephen Harrod Buhner's "Healing Lyme " and "Healing Lyme Co-infections books. They're not just about Lyme and what I like about them is he explains the justification for using things with scientific studies. Also your repellent is probably herbs too.
Btw I've had the same habit with those bobby pins! Gross and probably risky but satisfying. My ears have got infected and inflamed from doing stuff like that though so I had to stop.
@@AmandaD33 lol this proves my point 😂 I could never fit 5 outfits, not even in a huge suitcase for a holiday! And I honestly don't bring much, everyone else on a trip with me would have waaay more clothes and items than me, in a smaller suitcase. And I do have clever packing methods. I guess it's just some sort of magic haha. And add in the fact that the clothes usually have to be suitable for all weathers since I feel the cold badly and live in Ireland.
If/when I'm able to travel again, throw in all the medical equipment I now need to carry and dear gosh I'll be some bag lady!
I remember you mentioning that you work as a nurse, I was wondering if you've ever gotten sick from your patients? I'm considering that path but I want to know someone else's opinion that's not a family member or friend.
All the time, I literally had a cold the first year I worked. I've had to be decontaminated twice and a regular close calls with bed bugs and lice. It's just part of the job, and in the ER but it's way worse compared to admission units.I think my immune system is stronger for it though now lol
Loved this episode, very informative. Just wanted to let you know that the menstrual cup you own is not produced in an ethical way. I owned the same one, for the same purpose and reason but found out the company tests on animals. Maybe they have changed their ways, I do hope so, but when mine broke I bought one that does no harm whatsoever. Just wanted to let you know, no harsh feelings.
I didn't know this if/when it's time to replace I'll look into a better brand :(
It’s so hard to be sure of every brand. And it’s not like they tell you :p luckily some internet people have interesting videos and websites on the matter, for when the time comes.
Since last year I have been using a lemon as my deodorant. I just cut the lemon remove any seeds and rub it on. Just dont use it on freshly shaved underarms. I also have used coconut oil and that works also.
I do this sometimes and it works! but I don't always have lemons with me
@@JanellKristina the reason I mentioned this is when you are in India and if you run out of deodorant you could use lemons.
Am I the only person who doesn't get on with go tubes? I find it problematic that they are squishy coz then the stuff seeps out from between the main body of the bottle and the plastic rim, if it ends up getting a little squashed in the bag.
I've had this happen once when a tube was mostly empty but no other issues :/
It happened to me everytiime I had a full one. I decided that actually they're too big anyway. I use old mini shower gel bottles from body shop gift sets for shampoo and shower gel. In fact I always use up any small shower gels from various gift sets on holidays.
It gets easier when you use no make-up at all, sunscreen doesn't count
I'm sure. I don't like to every day, but I can't lie I like having fierce brows a couple days a week makes me feel extra confident
Minimal???
No condoms?
I consider myself « maximalist » and I never take that many items on a trip 😆
A nice video, but it is NOT “a minimalistic packing”.
