Country music tends to have a calming effect on me too. Some songs, such as the Judds’ song Grandpa Tell Me About the Good Old Days, floats me back to my childhood. Anything by Patsy Cline makes me long for my mom’s gentle touch. Certain bluegrass songs (Orange Blossom Special) remind me of my dad and is comforting. I also find gospel music to be very much the same. That’s the music I grew up listening to.
How right you are. There’s a country song for every facet of this life. We don’t all have the same experiences, but we are always touched by what we hear. I have found that depression is helped by music. Hope you find some solis in music. It’s called the great healer. God bless you.
