My brother in-law in Japan has taken me to Lake Biwa several times for fishing. It's a nice spot. By any chance did you try the local specialty, funazushi? It's a fermented fish using a variety of crucian carp only found in Lake Biwa. Delicious once you get over the smell. 😅
