Bouta send this to my grandpa right now
I just ate lit cigarettes in a vid 💪🔥
You have missed dax depression and Tom mac Donald’s new song !!
You should do oldies Monday! Have a different genre for e everyday of the week.
Please play sitting on the top of the bay
God speed your love to Grandma and Grandpa Coach!
Bobby Hatfield's mother was in the audience that night and he was nervous singing in front of her. The smile at the end is because he knew he nailed it. Imagine singing like that LIVE!
thanks for sharing!
Bet she had tears in her eyes.
Yes, and it’s reported that he had a cold! And I think I can hear it when he’s speaking.
@@amyholman354 wow that makes sense when he first started talking I thought that !! Thanks !!
Also I believed Bobby had a cold.
The difference between this and a lot of contemporary music is this will still be flawless in a hundred plus years
Forever i reckon lol
And still be listened to by millions.
There’s a recent popular song in the same kind of style
‘Stephen Sanchez - Until I Found Her’
Check it out 😊
Nothing but raw talent. No auto dubbed no lip sing . Just pure talent
I wanna see more reactions from Shaq on this genre of music
I just ate lit cigarettes in a vid 💪🔥
Facts I need, build me up buttercup next
Agreed
Yes!
Yessir
no autotune, pure vocal, live. they don't make music like this because no one can sing like this anymore.
Amen 🙏
Facts
Happy you’re back! So amazing your grandpa inspired you to do this reaction! god bless he’s out of the hospital! ….PS Would love to see your reaction to the latest Tom MacDonald video. ❤️❤️
Yeah that’s not true. There are plenty of vocalists that are great live.
@@clayjay88 Right? It drives me nuts when people say that - there are ton of great musicians and great vocalists around these days.
This is better than the studio version. He didn't write this. He owns it though. One of the greatest vocal performances ever.
1965 live performance. LET IT SINK IN. (LIVE). No auto tune, no effects, just pure raw talent
There is one effect. Reverb but that's not a bad thing.
Just think of the hours and hours of rehearsal to perfect his craft. Unreal.
Not just live. With a cold and his mother in the audience.
"You lost that lovely feeling" by the righteous brothers is a good one as well
you meant "You've Lost That Loving Feeling."
Such a good one! One of my other favs!
The righteous Brothers have some of the most iconic tracks ever recorded. Bill meadlys voice has no equal either. Guy was unbelievable. His power and tone.
This is a perfect example of what used to be called "blue-eyed soul." Beegees is another group that represents that genre. For both brothers singing together, try "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" live (but in black and white). Keep on discovering all music and sharing the joy with us.
Bobby Hatfield was 25 years old when he sang this on the Andy Williams show in 1965. No auto tune, just pure talent.
25?! That’s amazing! So much natural talent and artistic intuition and maturity in his style. I would’ve guessed at least early 30s. Thx for sharing.
This is what we seniors called “blue eyed soul” back in our day !
I'm 65 years old and found out a few years ago that this was not the first version of this song. Before my time. The lyrics is actually about an inmate locked up, hoping that their love is strong enough for her to wait for him. #unchained
Cool! I always wondered why it was called "unchained".
🤯 It all makes sense now! What stories are behind the ballads of a more romantic, innocent time.
Robert Todd Duncan was his name.
Over here I thought it was the brothers that originally sang this song.
The song is from a movie called Unchained from 1956, I believe. The acapella group Home Free do a version of the song that is a mix of the original song and the Righteous Brothers version. It’s definitely worth a listen.
@@jackmandu Also, the Platters and Elvis did covers of that song
My mum is 71, and a big Righteous Brothers fan, so I've been listening to these gentlemen for pretty much my whole life. Those voice, ohhhh those voices. Truly righteous.
I approve of your mum's taste in music (I'll be 71 in 2 years!)
This song was covered over 650 times and is the most played song ever. You need to remember there was no auto-tune. This is solely Bobby's voice alone. His range was outrageous, spanning 5 octaves. If I remember correctly, they had over 20 number 1 hits and 3 albums in the top 100 at one time. You can't pick a bad song from them. "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", "Soul & Inspiration" and Bill's solo of "The Time of My Life" are amongst their top hits.
Except the fact that sunflower by swae lee and post Malone passed them a few days ago
They had 22 Billboard hot 100 hits of which 2 were number ones. They were the first band to have 3 albums in the top 20 simultaneously and the only one to have two versions of the same song in the top 20 simultaneously (Unchained Melody). ‘Lovin Feeling’ was the most played song of the 20th century and was not surpassed until 2019. It is also listed in the Library of Congress as ‘culturally significant’
Definitely next you have to see them singing "You Lost That Loving Feeling" & "Soul and Inspiration". Also videos of "You'll Never Walk Alone" from The Ed Sullivan TV show your grandaddy must have watched and baritone Bill singing solo "Brown Eyed Woman" backed up by the Blossoms on the TV show Playboy After Dark.
You will also like Bobby hitting some crazy notes singing "Summertime" and you gotta hear one of their blues records..listen to Bill sing lead on "I Wanna Make Love To You". I subscribed,
@@zanhar7688 lol. I had the right numbers for the most part, just the particulars screwed up. Thanks for correcting me. I knock it up to old age and for not fact checking myself like I normally do.
@@cherylrowe8813 😁Been there done that …. And was caught up by someone who did their homework. It happens….
Bobby is LIVE and singing with a very bad cold, nervously in front of a huge television audience, and the first time for his mother was in an audience to see him. He sang soooo well !
Hello, fan!
Thanks for reaching out congratulations🎁🎊🎉🎁
you won a (pc or PlayStation5) cheerful send a message to above to acknowledge your prize............
He had a bad cold?? Holy smokes! I couldn’t hit those notes on a really good day. 😅
The fact that he had a cold and could still hit those high notes is simply amazing. I am a woman and I can’t even hit those notes without having a cold. This is one of the best live vocal performances EVER, and I mean in all genres of music. Simply flawless.
No auto tune this was live raw. These guys could sing sing! 😊
This is a lot better than the studio version. (my opinion) Also I consider this is one of the finest live recordings of all time! (also my opinion)
I second that emotion...
And I third it. It’s a vocal masterclass. It’s next level, as Shaq says. There’s Bobby and then there’s the rest.
Bobby was one of the best singers ever! RIP to this legend.......
Cocaine overdose wasn’t it? Go out as hard as you came in lol
@@jc199159 Coronary artery disease plus cocaine equals young death
@@jc199159 Actually, he did not OD. If that trace amount of cocaine was really there, it couldn't cause an overdose. When was the last time the news got anything right?!
@@Aurora-tp3dy sorry let me reword. Heart failure from advanced coronary disease with the addition of years of cocaine use. He was 63, any amount of cocaine can kill you when you’ve been alive for 6 decades and have heart disease. News got it right.
@@jc199159(Edit: Don't know where your last comment has gone, but I'm leaving my reply.) Absolutely, no overdose. Years of cocaine use!? Just stop it. You really have no idea what you are talking about. And, the news media did not get it right. There was nothing in his medical records or autopsy that even hinted at such nonsense. I've got an idea just talk about his talent or just stay silent. It's really bad form to talk badly about the dead...it reflects badly on you.
If this is your grandads first choice I'd love to see what else he has in his locker. Amazing song and one of the best live vocal performances ever. It's funny you mentioned "can you imagine what the studio version is like" because back then the live performances are more often than not far superior, great reaction!
You should check out “ you’ve lost that loving feeling” they both sing on that one. Mostly it’s the other guy and he’s got a deep Barry White baritone voice.
You cannot live in this world without hearing this song on TV, commercials and movies.
That was also in Top Gun.
That little smile at the end, when he bit his lip, is cuz it was the first x his moms was in the audience and he knew he nailed it.
Have you done Janis Joplin live at Monterey, singing Ball and Chain? Greatest live vocal ever.
I really miss your reactions to all the other genre's. You're absolutely right, you need to bring that back. And this live version is so much better than the studio version.. this is the gold standard for this song.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I heard 16 year old Angelina Jordan cover many of the classic old songs and sing them live better than the original. Compare her at age 12 to the Righteous Brothers singing Unchained Melody: czcams.com/video/oATEWzJxj3k/video.html. Then request a reaction here.
This gy is funny as fk
“Your my soul and hearts inspiration “ is another favorite of the Righteous Brothers.
This performance will forever give me the stankest of stank faces. One of if not thee greatest live vocal performances in human history
Talent and soul exemplified
Brought a tear to my eye… purity in the voice
Reactions like this make us realize who in it for the check and who in it to spread good music/vibes. My boy Shaq ain’t even tripping about no views or nothing, this for Grandpop’s. That’s love right there. And this madddd innovative 🔥🔥
People back then had real talent they couldn't hide behind all the bells and whistles. ❤😊👏🏼👏🏼
I LOVE THAT YOU'RE REACTING TO THIS! Too many people say that they're music people but just keep it to one genre. It can get boring. This is my kinda music. Motown too. Just beautiful.
This magical and unreal voice and talent will attract people of any age. If you don't fall in love with this, do you even know what love is.
44 years young here and I love this song! Brought tears to my eyes. Reminds me of my dad!
Here is a vocal artist who has brought me to tears every day but four since before Easter. 16 year old Angelina Jordan covers many of the classic old songs and sings them live better than the original. Compare her at age 12 to the Righteous Brothers singing Unchained Melody: czcams.com/video/oATEWzJxj3k/video.html. Then request a reaction here.
"Unchained Melody" is from a 1955 prison movie, and the song is about a prisoner awaiting his parole and hoping his wife/girl find is waiting for him...
Reactions to the Righteous Brothers never get old. Just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover.
His range and his band partner's range, I think are amazing!
Your Grandpa has good taste. Keep on with some of these oldies. This is real music right there. Try “You’ve Lost That Lovin Feelin next coach. That’s with both of them. Prayers for grandparents ❤
My dad who was my best friend ❤️ died in Oct 2021. He was found dead in his bed one month after taking the j&j vaccine. A song that we always said was "our" song is called Silent Lucidity. That song just always happened to come on when we would be together in the truck or at home. He lived 4 hours away from me. I would love to see your reaction to it. It is definitely a type of song you are describing. Thanks. I think your awesome, so funny. You bring me joy in my time of grief.
Great reaction. My thoughts are with your Grandpa and your family. I lost my Dad not long ago. My advice is to ask as many questions as you can and write it down. When I found out my Dad was sick, I started to kinda interview him. We spent a lot of time just talking. ❤️❤️✌️
Now that's a real music! Just plain singing with those beautiful voices ❤️
Back in the 50is - the super great Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald; going forward try Crying with kd Lang. Back again, the great Brook Benton - Georgia,
Nat King Cole.
Percy Sledge ' Anß to my prayer, jackie ŴILSON ,
AL Greene - HOW DO YOU MÈND A BROKEN HEART.
Respect on new levels. My mom loves this track. One for the old school. Look up the motion picture, Ghost, starring Patrick Swayze. Sending love from South Africa, ONE LOVE!!!✊🏽💥
What a man!!! Never even broke a sweat!!! Great reaction! Tell your grandpa that he has good taste in music. Send best wishes for his best health!💙💙💙
You're spot on, you need to expand your reactions to include all types of music. Good, bad or wtf, we enjoy your first time listen to all of our old and new favorites!
I grew up in the 90s... the movie "Ghost" made me love this song. RIP Patrick Swayze. 🙏
To hear them both sing together, The Righteous Brothers, "You've lost that Loving Feeling." Check out David Draiman (Dra man) of Disturbed's video, "The Sound of Silence." I usually recommend live, but this is one where the video really adds to the song.
Pure talent, something we’ve lost and will never find. Cherish it while you can.
Many thought the way you do, until they heard 16 year old Angelina Jordan cover many of the classic old songs and sing them live better than the original. Compare her at age 12 to the Righteous Brothers singing Unchained Melody: czcams.com/video/oATEWzJxj3k/video.html. Then request a reaction here.
there's great talent everywhere.
Lol
No, no, no. People just must use their voices as instruments again. Such talent may be rare but it is MISSING when no one tries to do it. The shower is a great place to see what you got. Great acoustics.😘
Might be the best live performance of a love song ever. On vocal technique it is for sure
Music back then hit different make the soul warm had so much feeling
According to duo, they adopted the name "The Righteous Brothers", because a black U.S. Marine in the audience, from the El Toro Marine Base shouted out, "That was righteous, brothers!", and would greet them with "Hey righteous brothers, how you doin'?" on meeting them. Also the term blue-eyed soul was first used to refer to The Righteous Brothers by black DJs, but after they became very popular, the term became a general term for all white singers who sang what was then considered "black music". In October and November 1964, they opened for The Rolling Stones on their American tour. In 1965, they had a couple of guest appearances in the films "A Swingin' Summer" and "Beach Ball". They also became the first rock and roll act to play the Strip in Las Vegas (at The Sands).
Ask Your Grandpa if you should react to "You've lost that loving feeling " next by the Righteous Brothers. I'd bet his eyes would light up just from reflecting back to that period in his life.
I see Shaq finally went Old School. God Bless your Grandfather. 🙏 Some Blue eyed Soul I am 75 I grew up on this
Hello, fan!
Thanks for reaching out congratulations🎁🎊🎉🎁

1st of all… your love for your grandparents is absolutely beautiful ❤ But yea… deffo do more of other genres!
Great reaction, Shaq! ❤ Your grandpa has good taste in music. Try (You’re My) Soul and Inspiration as well as On This Side of Goodbye also by the Righteous Brothers. One of my favorite duos from that era, introduced to me by my mom’s 45 records, is the Everly Brothers. I’d love for you to react to All I Have to Do Is Dream and Bird Dog by them. Two very different style songs but both good ones! These guys were truly brothers and from my hometown. 😊 What is the best way to send suggestions for music for your reactions? Thanks, my guru! 😄
Almost 60 years later this still causes chills. I was a teenager when this came out and I loved the Righteous Brothers.
His voice is just incredible. It's like he just opens his mouth and it just pours out, smooth as silk without even trying.
czcams.com/video/edKlUzJrlG8/video.html
Pure talent and vocal ability...Absolutely NO-AUTO TUNE!!! All performed "LIVE" in one take, and this version is even better than the studio version!!!
You need to do Bobby Cadwell it will shock you!!!!!!!!
I am 21 years old and love the 60's, 70's, 80's and of course the 90's genres!! A special place in my heart for those types of songs! We don't recognize how talented singers were back in the day we should be blessed to hear their wonder vocals!! God Bless!
Raised by my grandparents for the first half of my child hood , all that played on the radio was the solid oldies station .. This era of music was a golden age of real talent .. All analog and still sounds better then today's auto tuned/digitally mastered music .
What I love is there is no auto tuning, pure voice.
Consider listening to 16 year old Angelina Jordan cover many of the classic old songs and sing them live better than the original. Compare her at age 12 to the Righteous Brothers singing Unchained Melody: czcams.com/video/oATEWzJxj3k/video.html. Then request a reaction here.
Loved this reaction. Please react to them performing live "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". You will love it and get to enjoy both of their voices.
facts
I was 15 and the girls melted in my arms when this came on. I’m 72 also and that was the time of my life, before going to Vietnam in 69. Righteous Brothers helped all our games!
Love to see you get back into the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Love your reactions the the oldies.
Gorgeous song. Stands the test of time.
Not gunna lie. This music I heard to when I was a young. I remember this too. This that music make hair stand up and that sound just puts you at peace. That kind of feel. Thanks man. Im only 38 but remember my moms playing this heavy. Lol. This definitely has meaning with so many old music like this in the 70s, 80s, and in so many genres across the world like rap, reggae, jazz, soul, r and b. Thanks for the playback!!! Why I love this channel!! 🙏

Tell your grandaddy that his taste in music is top shelf. 1965... no effects, no wizardry...just a man and a mic. ..stand and deliver. What a performance.
The song was written about a man in prison and about to be released wanting to know if she was still waiting. More of this era and 60's and 70's. You'll love the sheer talent.
Yes please bring back the reactions to other genres, I smiled seeing your reaction to some of the older songs because I knew it was going to click and you would appreciate it for the art it is.
I genuinely get upset with the state of music these days. Its absolutely disrespectful where we are today from where we came from. The amount of fucking feeling in all of these songs, all the way up until the 80's was truly remarkable. Such simple lyrics, that have such incredible meaning because of the realness to the voice, camera, microphone, the ambiance as a whole. Magic back then.
My mom raised me on this type of music. Everything had feeling in it. This music could make you feel every emotion that's why I have a hard time listening to artists today. I turn on the radio in my car and the music just doesn't have any heart or soul to it. I'm 30 years old but I still gravitate to music from the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Hit every note like a boss
One of the best love songs ever written, my father and mother had this as their wedding song, he passed when I was 11, 30 years later she can't listen to it without crying. Music is one of most beautiful ways to express love and form a powerful bond. Go ahead a decade or so and watch "scuttlebutting" by stevie Ray Vaughn, unbelievable skill one of the greatest blues guitar players of the modern era, Dwayne Allman is another blues guitarists to check out.
I love Bobby's little smile at the end: "Nailed it!"
When he said, “are youuuuuuu” around 7:38 if your video,
Oh my god, the chills and heavenly like feeling that went through my body ⚡️😮💨
I can’t even explain the static shock, energy type feeling.
My God I forgot how good this song was
I remember seeing this on “The Andy William’s Show” on a small black and white TV.
These 2 fabulous singers' music is some of the best "blue-eyed soul" EVER! Thanks for your reaction.
I'm so glad you said you want to get back to more different genre reactions. Your channel did blow up during that time and your reactions were alot of fun to watch with all the different songs. Your Freebird reaction was the best reaction I've ever seen on ANY platform, that one will go down in history haha! Much love bro xoxo
“You’ve lost that loving feeling” was the #5 song by the RB’s that same year. Great harmonies! Ill bet you would like that too.
You need to hear You've Lost that Loving Feeling by the Righteous Brothers. That song will really blow your mind!
The 'our song' for couples of a certain age. This performance was from the Andy Williams show, and sung (as far as I know) live, with the show's orchestra backing him up.
The beginning of blue-eyed soul.
The original version was about a man in prison, wondering what he faced when he would get out.
Elvis, Righteous Brothers, Sinatra tons of good old music
They weren't known as "blue eyed soul" for nothin.❤
Props and much love to Granddaddy Shaq.. still teaching his kids. God bless sir 🙏 ❤️
Hey Shaq! This is the first video of yours that I watched. I totally enjoyed your reaction to this great song. Other songs I recommend by the Righteous Brothers are 'You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" and "Soul and Inspiration". They both sing together on those. So glad that you are expanding your musical horizons. Keep on keeping on!
one of the most played at weddings and reunions for 50 yrs
“You’ve lost that loving feeling” by the righteous brothers will blow your hair back Shaq.
So wonderful to watch all of you young folks tuning into and loving the Righteous Brothers.
Just makes you want to dance a slow dance with your love or something ❤ what an angelic voice
This is why i love shaqs reactions this is real music, no crazy high budget editing, auto tune, mixing, syncing, etc. Shaq more of this genre please, another good one to react to is " Commodores - Easy"
Great words.
You lost that loving feeling is one of my absolute favourites from these guy's... XXX love and light from across the pond xxx 😘🇬🇧🙏
Every time I hear Bobby Hatfield sing this exquisite song, I get chills and tears. He was one of the most gifted singers that have ever lived. Most people. black, white or any other shades, when the Righteous Brothers first started being played on the radio, thought exactly what you thought, Shaq.....that they had to be black. Tragically, Bobby Harfield died in the 2003, way too soon. The Rightous Brothers were still performing to full house venues, and Bobby was taking a nap in his hotel room before he was going to perform. He did not show up at the venue to do the performance. Then all the phone calls to his room were unanswered. When folks went into his room, he was already dead...from some possibly treatable heart problems and considerable amounts of Cocaine in his blood. Such a waste and to this day, I am sad to think of it. You did a great reaction to this golden performance, Shaq. Best wishes to you from a grandmother in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York State.
Thanks, Shaq! Bobby Hatfield was amazing.. no straining or screaming.. just calm, hitting those incredible notes.. LIVE... and the story goes that he was nervous b/c his MOM was in audience.. I'm sure she was proud!...
The older I get the more I listen to the words, hear the lyrics and appreciate it and feel it. I'm 40 and now music makes cry for the beauty the soul and the love. Great song, that's why and how I grew to like your channel you reacted to so much different music.

No auto tune or anything, straight live
He sing about a soldier in Vietnam…..how “time goes by so slowly, and time can do so much. Are you still mine?” Some never came home. Many, many hearts broken.
You will appreciate many artists from the 60s and early 70s, when everyone had to be able to perform live as well as the record.
There will never be another duo like the Brothers! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I turned 50 this year and can remember my mom and dad slow dancing to this in the kitchen every time it came on the radio. So glad you finally hit this one!
I'm SO happy that you picked THIS performance. This is hands down my favorite one because he does such a beautiful job of showcasing his ability. My wish is to have radio waves flooded with this level of talent again.
No auto tune, no multiple takes… 1 take LIVE, and performs just like the record
I wish you would do more music reactions. There is SO MUCH amazing music you haven't experienced.
NO AUTOTUNE, NO COMPUTERS TO HELP YOU SOUND BETTER. 🔥
This song was written by Alex North and Hy Zaret in 1955 as a them for the prison film "Unchained" and was sung by Todd Duncan. It became a huge hit when the Righteous Brothers recorded it in 1965. Yet another "timeless classic"
masterpiece song...all levels...all genres...this is a masterpiece
