I'm glad Drew said "number 1 - defense" on the list of fundamentals. Underappreciated
One of the many things I love about all your videos coach Drew is that you never have any wasted speech. Everything you say is important information without any fluff. So many other sport you tubers take forever to make their point and or are lazy with editing out such waste in post production. Excellent advice on this one, thanks!
Thanks. I'll pass that along.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
This man is someone who doesn't tell you that you won't make it or that it's very rare to make it, he rather tells you everything you can do to achieve your dreams even if it is almost impossible. That's why my appreciation for this channel cannot be put into words
Yo drew, you're a tremendous inspiration. Love what you're doing, wish I'd had someone like you in my life earlier, I'm aiming for the stars and hope I make it there but should I not I'll be following in your footsteps and try to help others in their journey to get there. Keep up the great work coach
Thanks, man. I'll pass this along.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
I am going to apply everything that he said and reach my dreams to becoming an NBA player
Thank you!
Bradley Beal, Jason Tatum WOW ur a good coach
Scorer / All around guard : Watch and emulate players game like that. Work on skills one at a time.
Master the fundamentals. Lock in and master 1 skill at a time.
Defense
Finishing
Shooting
Ball handling
Being able to handle pressure
Find all the little tricks and small details and add them to your game
Much love ❤
Thanks...
Thankyou very much
I'm making it to the the NBA
See u there
Xanji Xannji yes
MrSmartBoi any luck so far?
Sophia 21 just entered high school and realized there are no teams this year
MrSmartBoi I saw you had a channel. Mind posted a clip of you playing ball on there I would like to see your skills. If no it’s fine
Good video coach
Thanks.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Thanks for the tip coach
You're welcome.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Once again Drew great video. At first when I saw the title I was thinking man...Drew you can't promise that but after watching did great. Gave the kids milestones to reach their pro goal and let them know what it takes. Wish I could have you help train my 14 year old boy here in Hawaii lol he 6ft 5in.
Glad you enjoyed the video, man. We don't believe in hype at EGT -- it's about working your tail off with the best information available.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Could you make a video on selling your moves to get past defenders... I'm not sure you all have touched on that subject specifically
I’m going to do it.
I watch kyrie and model his game to mine watching his skills and footwork and different types of layups to finish
this going to help me so much
Good to hear. Now get to work. 💪
- Joe @ TeamEGT
yes sir
i am from kenya, africa and i believe i will make it . THANKA ALOT MAY THE LORD BE WITH YOU
.
Decision making is extremely important
I will my play style is kyire but I need to work on my shooting more an master my handles its good but I wanna push it forward
I wanna be like a russel Westbrook and a kyrie irving
Work your butt off all of the time.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Kyrie Irving for me
That’s John Wall he has speed and good handles
D Wade
Be better than them, be yourself, be a whole new person
Im gonna make it
Thanks. I'm injured right now so the only training I can really do is egt x 2.0 and I can't wait until I can get back on the court.
+Colin, get healthy soon and great job of working on your mind while you heal.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
I started hooping when i was 12, quickly fell in love, i recently turned 15 and i have improved so much but there is a long way to go, this past summer i really focused on shooting, and i got my 3 point shot from 30% to 50-60% on 100 3s. My goal is to get it to 80% by the end of the year, by then i should have grown a bit and having that 3 point shot will open other things up for me and i can work on finishing more specifically
How did you do it? I’m 12, started hooping last year but I can’t really shoot 3’s
@@salemshorts589 do form shots and once you get your form right what I did is shoot 20 threes from 5 spots around the hoop. and do that everyday and in a month youll see major improvements in a year youll be a sharpshooter
@@Steezy.mp4 okay will do! Thanks so much
EGTBasketball, I have some very case-specific questions for how to take my game to the next level and how to get into D1 colleges. is it possible to get an email to send more questions to?
I'm gonna join your club , what I can do to get in , i need a coach like you❤
Help me please
I will be successful 🙏🏽
respect for putting defense on no.1
GOD bless
I've been out here everyday perfecting my craft one kid at school said how do I shoot like you I said hard work beats talent
Coach, how do I practice handling pressure?
I see people in your programs how can I join
I will do it mark my words!
How are you doing
Hey coach I was wondering if you could give me some good Forwards to look at their game because I'm a forward and I was looking for some players to model my game after
lil.Chano how tall are you bro? if you are under 6 7 I would suggest playing hard, if not watch Tom Duncan he has amazing footwork, Hakeem Olajuwon great footwork, LeBron ,Kevin Durant ,Larry bird Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Dirk nowitztki, that's a good start
Lebron,giannis and kd
What do you think is most needed for an SF?
Scoring midrange defense basically Kd and Kawhi
how do the guys get a chance to train with coach drew in person?
Is it better to work on all things in practice or pick out one certain training aspect and continue doing it to you perfected and then move onto the next
Work on 1-2 things at a time each practice. Go for perfection.
Im 13 yrs old. For 2 weeks now, i've been training before school, each morning at 7PM. I'm one of the better shooters on my team, but i wanna know how to drive like russel westbrook. My highest points in a game is 18pts. I will update when i make progress.
Het coach drew I am in ninth grade and am on junior A team and my coach keeps asking me to play on Junior Varsity which is grade ten and I average 6 4 and 4 is that a good sign?
I am 5,1 13 yo but i already play with 16 year olds so i hope it will be beneficial
I hope this works!!!!!!!!
I believe I can make it but it’s the height I’m concern but im gonna go hard until I’m exhausted god blessed me with this chance I’m going to take advantage of it.
Same
How are you doing
i wouldnt say copy a player i would say yes watch all point guards but work on your best aspects and mold yourself into your own player
I’m 15 at the moment what are the chances of you working with me an increasing my chances to make it to the nba
When I make it I will think da people da doubted me and say thank u bec I will make it
For me I’m a godly shooter but my crossovers aren’t good only my defense and shooting is great. Any tips to get better at handling
How are you doing now
Can I have tips of playing better as a center? I finally made the team but I need to drop more points.
Can anyone help?
I feel my potential and like I can dismantle the nba. Sir what age does growth stop
Im making it to the NBA.
coach drew i have a question im from lebanon and i came to the US do you have camps i can go to in ohio
Hi, I have had a dream of going to the NBA since I was around 13. I am currently 14 1/2, so I am constantly outside shooting and dribbling and practicing. I try to change it up with who I model myself after: Stephen Curry's shooting, Kyrie's handles, etc. I've been working hard since I was 13 and I will continue to do so. I hope that someday I will be known as Austin Madden in the NBA and not someone who doesn't try to make their dreams come true. Thanks for the advice, and hopefully I can make it to the NBA.
You're welcome. Keep working harder than anyone you know.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Chances are you won’t make the nba
@@johnathanzobel908 Not if you don’t give up and did you hear how hard he was trying boi.
So how are you doing?
Its been 5 years man, how are you doing
I said to myself Chris Paul and u said it right after me lol
Lj Jackson same
🏀❤️🏀
Would you expressly state that it is important to only work on one move at a time or can you introduce a bunch and routinely do them each day?
I would expressly state that skill work needs to happen before move work. You need to be able to execute the moves before you can practice the moves. In other words, working on your footwork, balance, off-hand dribbling, etc...takes priority.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
wish i would have known this 3 years ago instead of just playing 1 on 1s and wondering why the person wasnt getting much better. Strange because thats not how I learned but I guess im weird. I picked up everything playing and was playing division 1, but tried to teach someone and failed him.
We all learn differently. But you can rarely go wrong when you teach to build a solid foundation and then layer on skill sets from there.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
the problem is im told i should be a center in school cuz im 6'1 and taller than the whole pe class. even that height is short as hell compared to the nba, but they say i shouldnt improve my handles. but defense only. blocks only. lockdowns ONLY.... i might not even make it to 6'10. my grandad was that height but i could be 3 or more inches shorter in future. i hope not lol but i need to train every kind of position, mostly handles, speed and shots to make sure i move well with the ball. is this a good idea cuz i dont know
Give me the plan I'm go all out I like kyire I'm speedy an fast handles an I can finish at the rim but I'm 6 feet tall but I can play with the best of them in ready
I watch Nba players and try practicing and using their moves in games
That's a good thing. Make sure you watch our channel so you can learn the intricate details of the moves.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
I'm making it to the NBA.
Actually the #1 should be: Basketball IQ. See plays develop before it happens, know how to breakdown a defense, know how the best way to defend against another team, and how to best play your role. Everything else trickles down from that.
ummm i want to do like al day practise but i cant bc i dont have a inside court i train now in the rain and outside :(
I’m 14 I have worked hard since I loved the game however didn’t make the freshman team
Dang bro ima sorry , how didn't u make it ?
Michal Jordan didn't make it either but he turned out to be the best basketball player of all time. keep your head up.
Coach how can I work with you, I really grind and I would really like to see a great coach
I watch alot of steve nash, tony parker, goran dragic and isaiah thomas and i would be willing to do anything to become a pro
Coach Drew really only works with up and comers and NBA guys. However, you may be able to work with him at a camp. I don't know his schedule.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
@@DeepGameBasketball how can I get Drew's attention to train me. How can I prove that I am a talent and that I am an up and comer
Hey @drew you said bradley beal and jason tatum trained with you when they were young. How?? i’m trying to
willburd bath he only trains good basketball players
What if you don’t have access to gyms and not a lot of resources to get your name buzzing to the colleges
If you want to be an NBA can you start when your junior on high school.
Mohamed Osman Duncan didn't do neither and still played in college.
Nope that’s too late
There’s only 1 rule to making it pro hard work all the time. I live in England and 1 of my friends has just gone to Gran Canaria and he’s just turnt 16 and the other GB best player and captain and projected for the NBA and all they do is work hard
SkyWalker my aunt lives in London, thinking of moving there(no opportunities in ny country lol)I didn't know they had schools for basketball, I always thought everyone played football there.
Kelly Oubre Jr. Every school plays basketball but in London for you I would say CoLA - City of London Academy or Barking Abbey they one they the EABL (Elite academy basketball league) last year. Or you could come to my school which is about 40 mins from London but people get the train from that far or you can Board but that’s expensive
Work hard all the time and you'll end up getting injured (except if you have great genes). Injury prevention, recovery, a healthy diet are all as important.
How do u get in the nba when u not in America ? It's been on my head since I had this goal to one day play pro in the nba
Get an agent and have him contact the nba
Bro coach the bad thing is im from indonesia how to be in the nba if im from there?
It’s very confusing for me for my height i play pf but since I’m only 13 I might be a pf height or I might only grow another 5 inches to 6”3 and be a pg
Same I don’t know how tall I could be I’m 5.6 14 I’m guessing point guard or shooting guard I think my max is 6.1 or 6.0
Shame I live in England no basketball courts just a ball and dribble 😣!
Dot give up, whatever you do do no give up
Move to usa
LMAO
There is basketball courts tho?
☝.
1 day inshallah im gonna make it to the nba
If I could add two more it would be: to stay healthy and be a student of the game.
I’m waking up at 4 am and training 6 hours a day, is this enough
Probably too much buddy. Your body might not be able to sustain it.
It's enough but a little bit of luck is still needed 🙇🏻♂️
Good luck
Coach what about people from Asia who's not living in America is it possible for them to be in NBA? I start playing and working hard at the age 17 and I still don't know what position should I be and my height is 170cm.
probably pg due to height unless ur having another growth spurt.
Watch kyrie irving, chris paul,de mar or even russ in the sense of finishing and passing.
Kyrie and cp specially since they have the greatest fundamentals and dont waste any movement in my opinion.
The problem is Im a 5'7 guy ,i want to be 6ft tall but im not sure i will make it
I dont want to play pro basketball, but I want to train like a pro to be the best.
Same here still being doin tha exact same thing here to be tha best player in tha world tho.
I’m going to the nba
My names Eric Sampson remember me 5’10 14 years old next Steve Nash
Coach Drew said these guys started working at the age of 13-14 but I have heard that many have started from 8-9 so which one is it pls answer back
Pls answer back I am 14 and thought I don't have a chance anymore to make it so is it 8-9 or 13-14 thanks very much
The moral of the story is some of the guys started young. No need to get caught up in when they started. Just learn from our coaches and implement what they teach if you're serious about basketball.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Sahil Alam Dennis rodman started at 21 apparently
i mean i’ll try lmao
I went to my inbox and it wasn’t there and it wouldn’t let me make a new customized workout
It sounds like you've created a custom workout with us in the past, is that correct?
- Joe @ TeamEGT
I am 6feet 6 I want to be in nba where is the best academy overseas
Maybe Coach Damin will have an answer for you.
You can ask him through DM on IG - egtbasketball
- Joe @ TeamEGT
I wanna go to the NBA but I'm 15 and I just started playing basketball but no one believes in me cause im only 5'7 and I'm not growing fast but I'm big in terms of body type and I'm naturally athletic but I want to be a versatile player being able to play 4 positions the guards and forward positions but it's not easy when not everyone believes in u
I wanna be Kyrie Irving and Jordan clarckson
Im going to outwork my potential...
See you in nba. Seriously
Can you make it to the nba if you don’t make high school basketball team
Why didn't the person you're talking about make the high school team?
- Joe @ TeamEGT
remember my name
Is it possible for a Indian kid, to play in the NBA.
no
What about being undersized teams don’t want a short kid
I want to play just like larry bird
I could make the NBA but then I decided to become a basketball trainer so that’s what I wanna do
Do what makes you happy.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
You weren’t good enough for the nba lmao 🤣
I am willing to put in any amount of work but my parents don't let me cause I am 14. Example if I want to wake up at 4am to shoot shots before school my mom won't allow that.. But I am ready to do it. Another thing is that my parents say I am too young to go to the gym cause my bones are not fully developed. And these are not excuses I still go to the gym but whenever I can sneek out pls help coach
Keep going bro
Well keep on doing you bro. Believe in yourself and don’t give up. God bless you bro !!!
My player I want to come is Kyrie Irving and it would be great if you would help me become Kyrie Irving
Drew or anyone else. How i can lockdown a speed player. they have to much speed to keep up with when i lock them down they just somehow get that easy layup.so that person just waits to i fall for that dribble move and get that layup
Work on getting faster and stronger:

EGTBasketball ok ill try my best
It takes work, that's the secret.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Nothing of this doesn't matter if you don't have self-confidence
Right. And we cover that in another video.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
and genetics!!! Also, it's imperative to be social & be good in moral standing. Afterall, basketball is a social game. Must be social with team mates, social with fans, social with other basketball players in higher rankings than you (ex. high school vs college vs nba basketball player), have good relationship with coaches, and knowing the right people.
I want to be a pro I 5,8 but very athletic and smart and I good outside defender and great rebounder score and passer but I'm trying to play college basketball first.
Keep working every day. Be the hardest worker you know.
