I will just say the entire US education system needs to change, coming from someone that’s had a known learning disability since the 2nd grade I can say I’ve never had a voice. The amount of times I’ve been thrown in the corner and not have had people listen to me is astronomical, they never prepare the IEP kids for state testing, ACT, SAT, or college level work. They just shove us aside to “deal with us later” and give us watered down work to temporarily help the situation, and the amount of teachers that either weren’t qualified or just didn’t care about my needs is truly upsetting. We need better programs to help support kids with learning and cognitive disabilities and attention disorders, and we need to build a better system that’s healthier for the students in general.
