The Pointer Sisters are one of those amazingly brilliant pop vocal groups, that, unless you were there, you probably don't know just how huge they were from about 1978-1986 or so. Back then, if you listened to pop and/or soft hits radio for even just an hour, you were almost guaranteed to hear at least one of their hits during that time. Unfortunately, by the time they hit it big, they were already into their 30s, and with equally-sized addictions that their success fed into, so we weren't blessed with the length of career with them as many of their contemporaries, but what we did get, man, that stuff is still on regular rotation on radio and definitely imprinted into my deepest, most beloved childhood memories to this day. 💖
RIP Sweet Anita, you shall be forever missed but your legacy shall remain on this earth always. Now go with June, Bonnie & the rest of your family to prepare an everlasting home for those when they come.

The years have gone by so fast . 1980 I was 16 turning 17 and my first bf sang this song about himself . He passed away in 2015 at only 55 years of age .
