@@stolensilver5811 18” inches of water doesn’t mean much when you have 38” diameter tires. The bottom of the bumper probably didn’t even touch the water, besides splashes.

This factory build 4x4² is a purpose build car with portal-axles like the Unimog. Sorry to say, but whoever doesn't like the car does simply not understand it. In this case it is form follows function.

Advice from Russia - if you really need to drive and there is a chance that the car will take a sip of water, turn around and drive backwards. stern cars dispersing the wave. The engine will be on the reverse side and the wave will not cover it. The advice may not help when the water reaches the windshield or windows, it will flood anyway.
But you can see it in the videothat the average westerner is very dumb to understand such things, since they stubbornly drive and drown their cars. Many do not even understand what happened, trying to start the car, which aggravates the engine breakdown.
It keeps the tow trucks and local garages occupied so why not

The Golf is from the days of proper cars with semi-proper mechanical engines. Not fully as obviously they had the ECU's but at least they were a lot more like a real engine.

Pretty sure insurance wouldn't pay out if you intentionally drove through a flood. It's nearly impossible to explain to an insurance company why the car has been submerged unless there's massive regional flooding. 😂

It’s not electric, but a plug in hybrid. Hybrid badge on the boot was the clue.
It is a fully electric car, not a hybrid. The green strip on the numberplate is a clue (and you can check the reg on DVLA to confirm).
I suppose it's still a Peugeout after all, init.
