Ngl osu Lazer has genuinely become the Cleanest game I've ever seen. Most things feel really nice and almost finished. Specially the start up storyboard. I am considering getting supporter for that fact alone.

@Angel Cat idk man , it somehow managed to be so bad that it runs osu on like 30 FPS and 30ms . I guess it's to be expected since the laptop is intended to be used for school stuff

@@aj-vh8xl "It's already been released since 2015" in the words of peppy himself. But as for when it'll replace stable (Yes, peppy emphasizes a lot on the difference between "lazer being released" and "lazer replacing stable"), it's probably gonna be a slow process which has already started somewhat because scores on lazer are already being submitted and shown on profiles and counts toward play time but not calculated. peppy said in the weekly community meetings that it's gonna take around 3-6 months.
@@ikkue 3-6 months, that is IF people accept what it looks like. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a normal osu update but everything is getting changed, so peppy would most likely delay this to a year because of feedback reasons, if that makes sense lmao.

I'm the one who PR'ed Main Menu Storyboards with peppy's blessing! I'm happy that everyone loves the addition despite the idea only conceived while I was taking a shower. It's not much but its honest work!

we need more osu lazer tourneys with the special mods!
I'd love to see a big tournament with the random mod. The contestants will play from a pre announced set of maps of course, but no one knows the seed, and during the tourney everyone plays the same seed. Pure reading skill
In osu! Lazer flashlight rises the star level, so technically badeu has the first 10 stars fc

I might actually move to lazer after it's finished. So many things that aren't in the original that is really helpful, like the pp counter.

It's never gonna be "finished" because it'll continue to get updates all the time even when it replaces stable. peppy says in Twitter so often that "lazer being released" and "lazer replacing stable" is very different in the fact that lazer has already been released since 2015 and you can make it the "main client" whenever you want to
@@ikkue I think what people mean by "finished" is that it's going to be a fully usable client cause right now, you can play on it but it won't actually submit scores
I already made the move, my pp will catch up later so idc about how my profile looks
I really love all the effort that Peppy and the team put on lazer. I hope that the moment for lazer to replace stable will come soon... because that's the only reason why I haven't replaced my main osu! client to lazer already.

Osu! Lazer is so sexy man. Its just super clean. My favorite part is the key count thing in the bottom right when playing, looks so nice.

The cool thing with Random is the potential for skill focused tournaments, you could have all the players play on a same randomly selected seed so they are unable to just memorize the map, forcing them to show their true skill in a semi-blind run while using the same seed ensures it's still fair as each player is playing the same map.

so mirror mod is basically if HR and EZ if they were a combo
Almost. HR multiplies stats by 1.4 and EZ halves them, so EZHR would actually have 0.7 times the AR, OD, and HP.
You'd also think that DTHT would be like nomod, but it actually runs at 1.125x normal speed for some reason.

What exactly is Osu Lazer? Is it like a client you can use for the actual game, or is it a whole new one? Like, I get that when it comes out, the scores on normal Osu won't be immediately transferred over, but will it always stay that way? So when Osu Lazer releases, there will be a whole new leaderboard for Lazer?
I'm a bit confused by your question. Osu!lazer is supposed to be a complete replacement of current osu and function kind of like a very big osu! update, not a new game or client even. All scores will transfer over and Its meant to be 100% backwards compatible.
Like, peppy plans to literally roll out an osu! update, and update everyone to lazer

You can download it and play it for fun, but scores so not submit to the leaderboards currently.

Unranked but the goal for it is to be ranked, everything transferred from normal osu
