2months of episodes until the plane crash it seems eerie in some way I feel like after the plane crash the village lost a lot of the charm it had in the early days
I feel the only character who had potential was Elizabeth I think she could have become the matriarch of the show all the others I agree there time had come with there recycled plot lines I mean Archie and mark basically had the same storylines since 1989
My confusion is why did they bother to introduce Shirley as Alan’s wife and then kill her off 9 months later seems like the producers didn’t know what they were doing
I thought it was interesting around this time they started introducing throw away characters I’m surprised the Windsor’s lasted so long as they did as the first 3months they are awful I think the plane crash made them popular.
It does seem odd that she should be introduced after the storyline about Alan's loneliness, then quite a long set up before she and Alan eventually get together and then within a few months she's dead. I wonder if the actress wasn't enjoying it and wanted to move on.
