There was way more than just wushu in her routine. Her explosiveness is on another level.
I do know about judging Wushu. And her demonstration was a first place exhibition of Chang Chuan. Expertly expressed. Bravo to her coach and kudos to her. Amazing performance !!

I don't want to sound ignorant, but it's the end of 2021 and only know I found out about wushu. I think big part of other countries "not being good" it's that it's not practiced/not popular enough 🤔

This is an amazing performance. I doubt the commentary was anything to do with scarves or Iran, that's your projection. Probably because they know nothing about the sport- that is obvious.

I never knew Iran woman interested in wu shu.
Ariey They do and they are mostly world champions in both arts and fights. And we Iranians are proud of them. Their modesty and hijab just adds so much to their beauty.

@@persiancat1597 Many Muslim women are interested in martial arts. In this sport they can wear their hijab and noone has any problem with that. In many other sports ladies in hijab are discriminated and forced to put the hijab off. Not all Muslim ladies want to take their hijab off.
Have few world champions actually both in men and women.
Iranians are deep on martial arts, something serious.
It means a lot to me that she wears her hijab while competing. She's proving the point that you can be a strong woman and practice your religion at the same time.
the persians are not necessarily religious. they have to wear Hijab because the government demands it.

It just shows everywhere they go, they just can't put their religeon aside. If she didn't wear it then she will had to face a lot of criticism.
She has no choice but to wear hijab, else you are not allowed to do sport or attend a tourney. otherwise she would be banned from sport and go to jail!!:

Wow. THAT was awesome. The first held stance was really cool. Low, one legged. The best thing about it was that it seemed to be something that felt 'good' to her, like she was enjoying it. You kinda have to take what you can get, these days, you know? Not just if you're Iranian, but everywhere. To be honest, I've never actually seen a human being who enjoyed a stance like that, EVER. Kung fu form experts often have that fierce energy and focus for a low stance, but this woman liked it. And this is the BIG competition for her and her peers, so the pressure is magnified. 2nd place is pretty impressive. The Taolu 'World Cup' is an 'official' World Cup event. I know people, these days, are like . . well . . MMA fighters are the best and THEY don't do 'forms,' but low stance like that, one legged, feeling good is kinda fascinating. For a viewer like me, Holly Holmes knocking out Rhonda Rousey is exciting, but how does someone enJOY a low stance IN competition? And WHAT does that mean? If you've done stance work, you hold a stance so you can hold another stance, and you do that so you can hold your stances longer and lower. I would say this woman has a um . . 'secret.'
