Towards the end of this episode we spoke of a hadith pertaining to blowing on food. Please note that we were having a discussion as a couple of brothers, not as people of knowledge and that you should always seek advice on Islamic matters and ahadeeth from people of knowledge.

Wallahi I'm just listening to this and as I listen to Abdul Hakim he's a very knowledgable brother and he seems to come across as quite a natural at podcasting, it would be nice for him to be added to the team of hosts one day Insha'Allah

Faisal would you consider this I mean it would be more hassle for you to find a larger space to add Abdul Hakeem and guests, and you might have to invest in another mic and chair but wallahi it would be more enjoyable ( not saying it isn't) but mashallah he is a natural salam

Socha Sanchez I was scared at first but it was completely fine!! It actually felt really relaxing because the sister gives you a little message at first. Because you cant eat couple of hours before, when the cups when on, I did feel abit light headed but when I ate after I felt fine! Dw sis you will be fine and I completely recommend sunnah remedies!!

First time watching Freshly Grounded. I'm so glad that i started watching it from this episode. The nutrition advice from Abdul Hakim is on point. Coming from a Latin Background is the same for us. The bad habits are everywhere. I'm constantly dodging food at home.
Guys check your labels. Use a scale. Eat moderately. Eat more green. Work out look after yourself.

I don’t know any Pakistani/Asian mother who uses pre-made curry sauce from a jar. The curry sauce is the base of the curry and is made of oil, fresh onions, garlic, ginger, tomato sometimes and fresh chillis and spices (no carbs or sugar in sight). Switching the typical vegetable oil to coconut oil is a good idea and also perhaps switching the white table salt to pink Himalayan salt, because the main problem with the curry sauce is too much salt and oil. However if you leave out the sauce completely then it’s not a curry anymore lol. Also a tip if you really want it to be healthy is switch up the oil for water coz that’s how my aunties make it for my grandad after his second heart attack.

Prepping for Ramadan is key otherwise you'll be spending the beginning trying to figure out how to structure your days which can easily lead to procrastinating. Start now guys, may we all make it to Ramadan & may Allah make it easy and beneficial for all of us 🙏🏽

Ugh do you know how ridiculous it is to ask an arab about south asian cuisine thats been around for thousands of yrs, the richness and diversity which differ from north to south, region to region and non veg to vegetarian. 😩
The few stuff that person mentioned is already used in asian dishes fruit, nuts, coconut, brown rice etc

    Asalaamwalaikum
The brother was talking about ruqya and how people rely on it and how it helped the sister 'a little'... it's not right to undermine the strength of Quran recitation which is what ruqya basically is. The words of Allah (Ruqya) should not just be limited to 'jinn possession'' but holistic health. But yes I agree alongside other interventions.
    Amazing podcast nonetheless 😊

‘Sugar is sugar’ no it is not. The sugars naturally occurring from fruit is very different to processed white refined sugar added to foods. Liked this episode but there was some misinformation

I'm still going up in numerical order but this was my favourite one so far :D also stopped listening to music thanks to freshly grounded.

  • @maymunhashim-subhan6931

Great episode, but there was a lot of talk on losing weight. What about the brothers who are not trying to lose weight? I've taken on board all of the general healthy foods you mention, but i don't want to be trying to lose a huge amount of weight...
