This is only part 1 of the process. The visa is valid for 6 months during which time you must enter Mexico and complete part 2 and receive your residencia temporal, or permanente, whichever applies to you. This has to done within 30 days after arriving in Mexico. The difference in amounts is based on conversion from pesos to dollars so can change based on the exchange rates at the time. Each location will decide what that rate can be depending on what date is used to convert.
How much money is it?

@@FutureFlyness I finally got an appointment in McAllen Tx. Can I do the entire process for Temp Residency in the US or do I need to start in the US and finish the process in Mexico. I'm confused. Thanks
@@veganista5096 start in US and have to finish in Mexico
after a while of having the temporary visa you can have permanent residence as a Mexican citizen and this gives you the right to:
✓work for any company or found your own company.
✓ have free health services even for very expensive diseases such as the heart, cancer or diabetes etc.
✓ you can buy houses, cars and more.
I Mexican architect and worked for a while in Seattle with a work visa then I invested my money building apartments in Mexico and now with what I generate from those departments I continue to build more.
the important thing is to know how to invest.
in Mexico it's easy make this cause the government asks for less requirements
Thanks so much for the info! How many months for the temp visa and can you renew when the time is up?
you're welcome! the temp residency last for 1 year and you have to renew it each year before it expires
Hi!! Thank you so much for posting this video! So helpful! I work remotely for a tech company and meet the criteria for Economic Solvency. I am hesitant to tell my employer that I am applying for Temporary Residence in Mexico. Any pointers on how I should go about asking for an Employment Verification letter?
Hey not sure you already applied for your visa. I am in same boat and what I found out is If you have enough money in 401K or Roth IRA accounts (Approximately 60K) you apply based on your savings/investment balances and you don't need pay check stub or employers letter. I hope that helps.
Thanks for posting this. Regarding the 6-months pay stubs/bank statements , they were from your US based job and not from being a digital nomad?
you’re welcome, US based company/job that lets me work remote
Do you remember when you provided Employee Verification Letter has to include work remotely from Mexico or not necessary if you want to keep your job here in the state and not being there full time , just be there on and off?
Good info!
thanks!
Thank you for posting!! Did they ask or know about having a denied visa in NYC? I had a similar experience in LA and would love to try a friendlier consulate
You’re welcome! No they never asked me that & it wasn’t brought up in the convo I had with them. Definitely don’t recommend the consulate in NYC but try in Atlanta if you can!

A young man with a fast brain who don’t take no as an answer. New sub here. You truly cut through the bs. Too many You Tubers are soooo long winded instead of getting right to it.
Plus you answered viewers questions.
Very informative and realistic.
My question is have you thought about what to do in the event of a wrongful arrest?
What then?
Thank you so much for the kind words and the sub! I haven’t thought about that one. Being a resident and having that card definitely looks better when stopped by the police. I would assume contacting the US embassy would help but I honestly don’t know. If i find out more I’ll make a video about it and let you know haha
Does it mean a certain amount must be sitting in the acct or just coming in every month??
Hello, really informative and well put together video. My question is, you need a job what you can do remotely right? And in my job i get my salary in cash...so I guess for me that 6 months payment proof doesnt work. What are the other options to get temporary visa? Thanks!
Hey thank you! I would recommend to try to have your job draft you up some form of paystubs that shows you have been getting paid consistently for the past 6 months. Then contact a consulate and see if that will suffice. I am not sure about the other ways to get the visa that does not require finances, apart from marrying a Mexican.
Thanks 😊
Everything is in Spanish on the website, like how did you book an appointment? I clicked the link in your bio.
Do they care about employment after the visa??
Are the income requirements the same if you have a child? I am single and have a daughter. Would the requirement be the same as for a single person, but include both of us? Thanks! Very helpful info!
Thank you! Good question but I'm honestly not sure, on the Atlanta consulate's consulmex website (under the foreign visas category, temporary residency) they don't mention anything about including dependents and if that would affect the income requirement. I'd call and email the Atlanta consulate or whichever one you decide to use to find out. I've included their number and extension to dial in the video description!
Great video! Question. Whats your next step? Do you have a certain amount of time to go to Mexico and do something there? Also, are you required to stay in Mexico a specific number of days?
Thanks! My next step/goal is to obtain Mexican citizenship which takes 5 years of residency to get. So I’ll be deciding if I want to live there for the next few years. No, currently there is no time limit to stay in Mexico to maintain residency.
@@FutureFlyness thanks Brother, I appreciate it. I hope you keep posting your journey.
@@FutureFlyness Did you have a Mexican address when you received your temporary resident card in Mexico?

Hey I thumbs upped and subscribed but I don't get pay stubs as I own my own business. I do get large transfers showing over 20k per month into my accounts is that ok?
Thanks man! Are you transferring money from a business bank account to your personal bank account? I ask because when you print out your personal bank account statements for the interview, you want the account doing your deposits to say “LLC” or something like that, to make it look more legit.
I am applying for temp. residency in NC soon using the 12 month way. What was the requirement in Atlanta for that? I think here it is around 42k
I’m not sure but email or call the consulate in Atlanta to verify, check the foreign visas link in the description and go to temporary residency then the economic solvency category for more information
I'm working on mine right now. I have to go thru st Paul
good luck!
Hello gathering my paperwork now on which site or where do you find the monthly monies per month I'm here In Florida but not seeing the monthly requirements??
you're applying at the Atlanta consulate?
Great video bro, was your job remote?
Thanks man, yeah it’s remote
What kind of work do you do? How long will you be living in Mexico? With temporary residence, how long can you be outside of Mexico and not take it away? I know that you can renew it and it lasts 4 years, but what would happen if you had to travel to the USA for some emergency or family reason, would you lose the temporary visa? I liked your video very good information thank you
I do remote work but I’ll make a video on what kind of work I do soon. I’m not sure how long I’ll be living in Mexico yet. You can be outside as long as you want, just have to come back in time and renew before it expires. So in those situations you will be fine. Thank you I appreciate it.
Are there are other requirements that apply to self-employeed and freelancers? I meet the monthly income but wouldn't have an employment verification letter as an independent...
No more requirements that I know of, try your best to get the letter written up from whoever has been paying you the most frequently for the past 6 months. Keep in mind rules/requirements change sometimes so call/email the consulate to know for sure.
I appreciate this vid so much ! I plan on going to Mexico ten months from now (May 2023), and I want to get temporary resident visa. How long in advance should I start the process??
You should start now! Remember, you have to show atleast $2600 per month of income deposited in your bank account for the past 6 months before visiting the Atlanta consulate. So if you have a job or starting a job soon make sure you have the 6 month income history before you visit that consulate. Keep in mind that $2600 may go up in January so you may need to show more per month starting by next year. Other consulates have lower monthly income thresholds but I’m not sure of which consulate.
@@FutureFlyness Here is what I'm trying to ask. When you went onto the Atlanta site to schedule your appointment, were they booked up months in advance? Were you able to schedule an appointment pretty quickly?

Minimum balance has to be how much? If you don’t mind. I don’t have a job because I receive stocks divs every month right on that number! I wonder if they let that count? Thank you in advance.
$2600 per month based on your job. this goes up every year so its' probably higher now. If you have a large savings balance for the past 12 months you can use that too. Contact the consulate to see if stock divs can count since I'm not sure.
Also before you got your visa did you gave to have a booked flight etc???
No, no need
hi.. Did you still have to go to mexico within 30 days and go to an IMX office to get a Resident card with your photo?
Yes you do, I am in the processing of doing that now
Hi there again..
I was wondering ..
Does the validity period of the visa start after receiving it from the embassy?
Or from the interview day ??
And after we get the visa how long is it valid? One month or three months?
Thx in advance
Yes it starts as soon as they put the temp visa stamp in your passport. If you are approved during the interview it starts that day. Valid for 6 months.
You have to work in mexico 🇲🇽 for 6 months ???
Thanks for the information. Did you have to go to Mexico after ATL to complete the process?

Do you get Mexican "Clave Única de Registro de Población" (CURP) ?
You get the CURP number after you get your residency card
I can’t through to the ATL consulate phone number and it’s been weeks; and the online registration won’t accept the log ones I create. Can one just go directly to the building in ATL in person to make appt for TR and if so, besides income and bank statements are there other documents like a criminal background check or vaccine docs one needs to provide?
Sorry to hear that, I’m not sure if you can make an appt in person but you’ll definitely be able to speak to someone, once you let security know the problem there’s a information desk behind security that may help. If you really can’t register online and can’t get through to them, this is the route I would take. Or just contact and go to another consulate that is more likely to answer your calls/emails. I wouldn’t want you to go all the way there for them to tell you it’s not possible to make an appt in person ya know.
No background check and no vax docs required.
Good info my brother. I live in Atlanta and the Mexican consulate is terrible here. I can't get an appt. or schedule one. All Mexican US consulates are shut off for Americans it seems. The Mexican website does not have US as an option to make an appt. Every other country is there but tge US.
Thank you, not sure how the process is now but when I did it I just had to keep checking the schedule and find a open time slot. Or just call them directly and see whats going on with the Appt system
@FutureFlyness Oh, I went there after failing to schedule an appt. online plus no one was answering the phones. The number, name, and ext you have are priceless man, thanks. There's another way to donit through Belize which is much faster.
@@MrMC-xg8qp you’re welcome bro, what did they say when you went there in person?
The security guard said to schedule online but we can't. There's something going on.
How was it for you getting an appointment with Atlanta? They appear not to have any appointments available in the online system.
you have to keep checking the system, almost daily to find openings
Thanks bro. Straight to the point information. Is there a process a person has to go through once they come to Mexico after a temporary residency has been approved?
You’re welcome, yes once you get your temporary resident visa you need to go to an immigration office in Mexico to exchange that visa for the temp residency card/permit. It’s a much more simple process. I’m working on that video (part 2) now so stay tuned.
@@FutureFlyness Ok, thanks lil bro.
On the Consulate in Chicago's website it shows economic solvency of $1505.00 a month. So, not sure if maybe they havent updated it or what the deal is. I am guessing they havent updated it according to the recent changes
best way to find out is to call them directly or email them, rules change often in terms of residency requirements
Did you scout Mexico first before applying for your Temp Visa? And did the consulate ask why you want a Mex Temp Visa? I've seen other YTbr video state they were asked and had to give a really good answer why...BTW I have my appt next Friday at ATL office.
No I didn’t scout Mexico, no she didn’t ask, I believe she just assumed since I was applying for residency that I wanted the temp visa in order to live there legally. I’d recommend just telling the woman (I’m assuming it’ll be the same woman i mentioned in the video) that you are planning to move there and to learn Spanish. Good luck on your appointment!
@@FutureFlyness Thank you 🙏🏽 Got the appointment on the first call
Did you have to get the original statements from the bank or is it ok to print from online banking?
I only needed the online bank statements but make sure you print them out to give to the consulate because she will keep them
I can't find an appointment in Atlanta 😟
Hi! Thanks for this. It was helpful. I do have a few questions though. I have been trying for a few weeks now to schedule an appointment in Atlanta. I've called every number I've been given. I've called first thing in the morning, then I was told to call after 2pm on Fridays, then I was told to send an email, the email reply referred me back to the website. Once I saw your video, I went back online and registered. I just received an email telling me to click schedule to schedule my appointment, however, it says that I will be scheduling with Mexico. Although I ultimately want to do that to assist with the second part of the process, yet I've got to get through the first part.
I plan to visit Mexico in April and want to get this first part completed and approved so that I can obtain my canje in April. Can you shed some light on what I need to do to get this appointment scheduled? Am I in the right place? Thanking you or any of your followers with info to add, in advance.
Hey! I am glad the video was helpful. I have not done the process in a while and do not remember it fully. If for some reason its asking you to schedule the appointment in Mexico, you may have registered with the wrong site. cites.sre.gob.mx is the correct site and thats where you should start. If you are having trouble booking appointments all I can say is keep checking until an available one pops up or maybe consider other consulates. I would also be persistent on calling and emailing the consulate until you get some helpful information.
@@FutureFlyness thank you for your response. Yes. I'm on that same website. I'll just keep trying everything over and over until something pops off! 🤷🏾♀️ thanks again 👍🏾

So…do they take having property with equity into consideration?
I've heard you could get residency by purchasing a property valued at a specified amount but I'm not sure of the process or the details of that residency route, or if its even an option.
Hello. One quick question. Was your interview in English?
Yes
Bro please recommend me the university in Mexico or they website or email i want to apply taught in English
Do they have a different requirement for people on Social Security?
I'm not sure, I'd reach out to the consulate to find out more information
I heard that so after you get that temp stamped in the US you have 6 months max and then you need to enter Mexico and when you are there, you have only 1 month to complite your temp visa. Or is that for that permanente visa or is it also for that temp ?
Yes once you get the temp visa stamp you have six months to go to Mexico and finalize the process, since the visa expires in 6 months. Yes once you arrive they give 30 days to complete the process at a immigration office, I have heard that if you atleast get an appt booked in thirty days they’ll give you a break on that one month limit. I’m not sure if the rules apply for permanent residency but these def are the rules for temporary. I’m making a part 2 video step by step of the process to finalize the residency, I’ll post the video next month.
@@FutureFlyness thank you, great info. Also, can you apply for that 4 year temp right away or do you need to apply for that 1 year at first and then after that 1 year at the time till you get to that limit with the 4 years. Would be great to get that 4 year right away so you got it for 4 years and don’t need to worry about it for awhile.
Do you need a Mexican address to finish part 2 in Mexico with INM?
No but you will need to use the hotel or Airbnb address you are staying in to complete part 2
The salary comes to your account should be in account or can i use that salary income during 6month period?

You have to find a Mexican consulate that you want to go to first
will they give you a temporary residency vias if you are on social security disable, can they help you bring your us car into Mexico ?
Sorry man I honestly don’t know, I left the Atlanta consulate’s contact number in the description, give them a call or email them, it might take them a few days but they’ll pick up the phone or respond to their emails.
You can take your car into Mexico with a TIP (temporary import permit and hold Mexican insurance), however if you decide to pursue permanent residency, you would have to work with a Mexican import service and the import fees can be in the thousands, I think it’s like 20-30% of the value of the car…
So, after moving to Mexico are you going to be able to continue working with the same employer that you used to show economic solvency?
yep that's the plan

You’re welcome. Yes you definitely have to go to Mexico to an INM office with an appt booked to finalize the process and get your temp card. I’ll be posting part 2 of the finalization process next month.
This a good reason why many retirees are not able to move abroad to Mexico the criteria is to high which most retired social security will not cover.unless there 65 and older then legally they are not supposed to be held by the amount of the criteria but show that they have an income. The problem is you can go to one and they will uphold certain criterias and others will not but there are many South American countries that do not have such hurdles🌄🦍❤️
There are many countries doing away retirement visa ms as they don’t want to bankrupt their healthcare systems with aging populations.
Hi there, the finances are based on net , right?
the paystubs and bank statements I gave to the interviewer only showed my gross pay. I was never asked to show my net. Keep in mind rules change sometimes so I always recommend trying to contact the consulate you go to for more information
Did you not enjoy Mexico I’m asking because I don’t see much tours in Mexico and a temporary visa usually last 4 years. Also I hear it can become null and void if you don’t do proper paperwork after leaving the country
yes I enjoyed Mexico lol, there's definitely tours going on, just gotta find them, even though I've never taken one myself. I think you may be referring to the temporary regularization program. I applied through the normal temp residency program which leads to permanent residency and then citizenship. My residency doesn't become void if I leave, I just have to renew it in person when the time comes.
Did you have any issues securing an appointment? It appears that there aren't any available

I think it would be, I’m not sure of the process for Mexico but usually marrying a native of a country is much easier and quicker.

Can you use copy statement or they need original? Can the income come from self employed? If so will they need the corporation info? Do they give the visa same day?
Thank you
From what I know, you can apply for the visa at any Mexican Consulate in your home country, so no you don't have to live in the US. Copies are fine. Self employment income is fine. Yes you get the visa same day. Confirm all this information with your consulate first before applying since I have no knowledge on how consulates operate in Canada.
Its important to note that the financial requirements for a Canadian are significantly higher re monthly income or amount on deposit.
Monthly income required is $7200 or amount on deposit (for previous 12 months) is $236,000.00 !
2nd OPTION: RETIRED receiving a PENSION of $3000+ PER MONTH which you should easily meet the income requirement for Mexico to get the TEMP RESIDENCY VISA!
