- Went chasing jew and thredfin but didn't have any luck in my usual spots, so headed to the Pin bar and found truck loads of tailor. The tailor had pushed masses of whitebait, Herring and even prawns to the surface!
Locating the tailor both from surface activity and with the sounder, I cast soft plastics, hardbodies and I even got the fly rod out.
I left the bar area and headed home to try for some flathead and did so but not before finding heaps of tailor yet again!
Great fun and really good option for those casing fish over the xmas break!!

How good! Was out there last weekend getting them on fly. Home made clousers and minnows from 20+yrs ago on my 8wt made up by Jonesy back in the day. Was so much fun to get some on fly again!

We used to catch tailor over the west at a place called Dawesville cut when they first opened it up on a long shank hook and a bit of drinking straw and they were massive. Good fun for a guy from the desert who had no idea what fishing was

Hey mate but out of topic, but I was fishing out at Harry reef and caught a couple fish but they got barotrauma and couldn’t get back down, have you ever encountered this issue. If so did you resolve it. Non the less merry Christmas and your videos have helped me heaps, keep it up. ❤️
I haven’t but have encountered it.
You get make or buy yourself a release weight to get the fish back down.
To try and avoid it, try bringing the fish up slowly as that can help too.

should've dropped the active target to see how thick and mental tailor actually go i was teabagging down the other end with a zx watched them smash it before it hit the bottom and the rest of the school was chasing the one hooked it was crazy to watch
