- Andrea Bocelli stops by the Googleplex for a conversation with Daniel Alegre.
Maestro Bocelli is an internationally-acclaimed musician, whose classical albums are among the biggest-selling of all time. In 2011, he founded the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, whose goal is to enable the less fortunate to have the possibility of a better future "full of beauty and opportunities". He will talk about his foundation and the impact it has had around the world.

He said his voice was "very tired" towards the end of the interview (around 49:30). When he starts singing "Ave Maria", it appears the fatigue and tiredness disappear and the voice of an angel takes over. If my best voice sounded anywhere close to his tired one, I would be incredible! Love, Love, Love this man's voice!!!! Andrea, you are amazing. I've been following your music for many years, and your voice never ceases to amaze me. You are indeed a maestro!
@Nettie Reynolds He and his family had the Corornavirus, but they all got over it in the beginning of March, so they are "hunky-dory" now! He decided not to tell the world about it out of respect for those who are going through a more severe case of it, and not wanting his fans worried about him. And he has donated blood to help find a cure for the virus. Now I love him even more than I did. And I didn't know that was possible! LOL

Excellent foundation. So glad to see all he is doing in Haiti, for the HIV program and his work with MIT. Marvelous combination of funds for the poor, which includes the Blind and Haiti, which has suffered so much. Love his good works, and thoughtfulness of giving back. His parents did an excellent job. Well done.

I love this man's humility and frankness. At minute 15 he says that compared to Pavarotti he felt that he was a "dilettante". She translated it as "rough" but in truth it is a French word that translates as "an amateur", someone who cultivates an area of interest without a real commitment or knowledge, perhaps a dabbler. And earlier in the conversation he said that once he heard Pavarotti, he thought, I must go back and "study" she said, "start over". I think he meant go back and pursue music in depth and thus he became great.

When I had my first. daughter, Leah, I was 21, unmarried, and very afraid and uncertain about the future. The year was 1978. Leah was born on a Wednesday and on Sunday was Mother's Day. She was put in a foster home and was to be given up for adoption.
Needless to say, I wept from the time that I left the hospital because my arms were so empty. I had never felt so badly in my entire life. On Mother's Day, my boyfriend suggested that we go see her at her foster home. She was beautiful. And we decided to keep her.
Leah is now 44 years old and lives in Minnesota with her husband Dan and son Graham. They are a musical family as well.
Leah sings opera, has directed a church choir of 100 6 year old children, composes music, teaches music camps for youth,, leads the soprano section for her church choir, sings at weddings, funerals, and for charities.
I know that God gifted me a very gifted child. I have always been blessed and my faith in Him has grown exponentially over all the years of my life.
When Virginia sings, she reminds me of my little Leah. As a child she loved to sing for anyone who would listen.
The best decision of my life happened when I decided not to abort her!
When Andreas sings he sings with such passion and love comes flowing out of his ❤️ heart. That is how my daughter sings and I often weep when i listen to them.
One more thing, what would have happened if Mary had "chosen" to abort baby Jesus??
The Lord blessed his mother for keeping him and giving him a Beautiful voice and loving the Lord. ❤
For any women thinking about aborting their baby, your baby could be the future Andrea Bocelli, his mother was told by her doctor to abort him and she refused. I am thankful she didn't. Good bless her
