Robert has gotten considerably better with his backing vocals. It's amazing how in tune he is compared to 10 years ago.
I was listening to Harvester of Sorrow the other day, and Rob was sooo good, almost Jason good.
@@vovahimself Pretty much impossible to beat Jason's backing vocals (he's talented enough to be a thrash metal vocalist himself), but Rob has stepped up!
A music teacher told me "sometimes it just takes time". Robert just needed time to get his right. James having a slightly higher vocal range than he it's just been a matter of finding the meshing where both sound off(in terms of distincting)and well.
James sounds great here and looks great, younger, im still a fan since 1983, i was 13, now im 52, and still loving Metallica, living legends and metal gods.
And my Metallica years started 3 yrs after. When I became 13. 48, my wife doesn't approve. Metallica for life 👍

People are praising Het's voice in this and for good reason but damn, I think this has been the best I've heard Rob harmonizing with him, he has really worked and improved his backing vocals, it sounds great here

I disagree James Hetfield hasn't sang with his gut since before the black album. That's when he could sing. It wasn't notes it was feelings and anger and heavy freaking metal. Mettalica has a hole change heavy metal forever sound. They got it back on this album. He's half and half in the live sings. He used to write About things. Current Vivian addiction suicide. Over 35 years ago. Before it was ok that's James Hetfield. Not just Saing anger stringing words together repeating everything like he ryhmimg not writing. The lyrics in Dirty Window for example. What is that? Read the lyrics then read trapped under ice. And you wllse a difference. “Trapped Under Ice” is about Anxiety. 35 yrs ago. This Dirth Windiws is about what exactly.
They have added so many layers to this song since the 1st recording. Everytime I hear it, it gets better and better. The entire band has been on fire lately

Soy seguidor de Metallica desde hace muchos años, pero desafortunadamente nunca pude ir a un concierto suyo, lo mantenía en el tiempo como una meta a cumplir ... y tuve la fortuna de que éste concierto de Madrid 2022 fuera ese día. Simplemente una experiencia inolvidable, una noche para el recuerdo. Es increíble su buen estado de forma siendo tan veteranos, están pletóricos, impresionantes los cuatro.

No existe noche en la que me vaya a dormir y antes escuche este tema y Fade to Black, y es que siempre que veo a esta gente agradezco poder estar viviendo esta época, les pude ver por segunda vez en mi vida en Bilbao el 3 de julio de 2022, y realmente he salido en éxtasis de ese concierto, esta gente realmente son unos monstruos arriba del escenario, daría todos mis organos por ser al menos 5 minutos como ellos.
I love how these guys always give it their all and always seem to be enjoying themselves. They never just wing it to get to the next show. That's why I've seen them so many times and will continue to show up when they're in town!

when I watched this for the first time my heart just dropped, not in a bad way but very emotional way. im 60 and have been a Metallica fan since the fall of 1981. I have been to many shows and I can say I don't like all their work but thats ok, because what I like makes up for it. I guess whiskey is a anthem for many of us as we loved it when Thin Lizzy was doing it, so this song stirs up a lot of memories all good,,,,, some of my friends are gone now as well a Cliff, but we and our music kept it going. I remember being told how this music will die, it won't be remember, well that statement was wrong, James sounds amazing kirt is still keeping it good Lars is drumming well... all though age is starting to show its president, we all are getting in those golden years of life.. it looks like its gonna have a little siver lining on it, oh yeah!!!!!!! don't want to forget about Robertto, he was the perfect choice, love his bass work and his emotions when he plays. .
Every time I see the fans of Metallica who are contemporaries of the band, I feel very happy, because it's so great for you could witness their peak period, and I also think it is amazing that people of several generations are bound together by one band. This is the power of music.

It's so impressive how well Metallica has held together for like 40+ years. like they became legends long ago, and yet they never have slacked on live shows. James is one of the best frontmen to ever live, hands down.
