    I have this lens with the R5. It’s phenomenal. Sharp edge to edge even at F2. Minimal chromatic aberration, easily correctable vignetting. Most importantly, gorgeous colour rendition.

      How is the stabilization with video?

      Quote: “Canon's IBIS system can deliver eight stops even on the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM - a lens that has no stabilization at all. “

    Everyone is whining about the price but the price is worth it for what you get. A totally unique zoom that nobody else can match. Sharpness and control of aberrations is superb even wide open. There’s no reason to stop down other than depth of field or light control. Rendering and 3 dimensionality are eye-poppingly good. I imagine that the ceiling for this lens is higher than what the EOS R can capture. The lens is big but the weight is well balanced.

    I purchased this lens a year ago, and it stays on my camera 80% of the time. The pictures are stupid sharp even in low light. Now I have purchased the R6 to go with it and what I am able to do in low light it’s just nothing short of phenomenal

    @at0micandy Před 3 lety +5

    I bought this to go with my 50mm f1.0. Both heavy, both probably the best lenses ever made, both work brilliantly on my R5. The 28-70 is so good that i may even sell my 50mm F1.0.

  • @JaredRibic
    @JaredRibic Před 3 lety +3

    I DID IT!! My RF 28-70mm f/2 L just came in a few days ago.
    I was on the fence between this RF 28-70mm f/2L and the RF 85mm f/1.2L, but since I already have the RF 85mm f/2 IS, I can wait and get the 85mm "L" version later.
    This RF 28-70mm f/2L has replaced my EF 24-70mm f/2.8L and I'm loving it on the EOS R5
    95mm filter thread was my main reason for holding off (and the cost of it), I can't find an ExpoDisc larger than 82mm and the 95mm filters are more expensive.
    But it's completely worth it! Did a couple corporate group shots this week where everyone needed to be 'socially distant' and loved using this lens.

      Thank you for your opinion !!!! I am choosing between buying 85 1.2 (which was my dream lenses) and between this 28-70 2.0. I love doing portraits, that is why I am not sure to choose 28-70 instead of 85. But I have already 135 2.0 which I love and maybe it is better to choose 28-70

    • @MichaelAnthonyphoto
      @MichaelAnthonyphoto  Před 5 měsíci

      @SmartBeautySecrets I would agree if you already have a 135 go with the 28-70. Super versatile.

    • @JaredRibic
      @JaredRibic Před 5 měsíci

      @@SmartBeautySecrets - Depending on what you already shoot with (in addition to the 135mm), that might help make the decision.
      Ultimately, I ended up getting the RF 85mm f/1.2L as well, and I love that lens.
      I mostly shoot weddings, and my two favorite lens combinations (I shoot with two bodies) are:
      - RF 35mm f/1.8L IS macro, and RF 85mm f/1.2L - I've shot many weddings with *only* these two lenses.
      - RF 28-70mm f/2L and RF 135mm f/1.8L IS - I love the 135mm so much it's hard to choose between this combo and the combo above.
      Also, the RF 85mm f/1.2L and RF 28-70mm f/2L are close to the same weight,
      My next wish is that Canon releases a 35mm f/1.2L.

    Really loving the 28-70 for weddings on the R5 ; the extra crop is nice, although I do also use the 70-200 and 85 DS :)completely replaces the 24-70s and makes the, feel more like kit lenses

    • @Seitenwerk
      @Seitenwerk Před 4 lety

      Still unsure which one to get. I usually stick to primes and the 50 has amazing image quality, 1.2f and is lighter. But 24-70 f2 sounds amazing of course. The weight and size might be the biggest con in theory. Did you try out both lenses?

  • @brandonperez5629

    Killer lens! I shot with it all day on the wedding when I first got it. The images are stellar! Very crisp, with buttery bokeh. I still will use my old 24-70mm for the ceremony. But the 28-70mm is my new fave.

    I'm pretty fortunate. My local camera shop runs a 50% off Saturday rental(you can't reserve and it's first come first serve and whatever's available) and no one really rents this lens just yet. Now I know that with the R5 and R6 out that the party is probably over of getting this bad boy for $25 bucks for Saturday and Sunday rental. Most likely I'll be getting this lens because I use it 80% of the day and is so good. Pissed I didn't get it a couple weeks ago when Canon was selling it refurbished for $2300!

Just want to pick your brain a little and see what else u switch to and why. Was thinking on getting this and the RF 35 macro for my detail shots.
