I have done a series of rules videos for this games which are on this play list hence the fact it starts on video 15.
Such a great game, I love it so much!
I've had on order Battle for Normandy on the GMT P500 (reprint deluxe) - for a couple of years now. Seems like it's finally making some progress on the P500. Can't wait to get my hands on it eventually. I have fond memories of playing Avalon Hill's "The Longest Day" monster - and this game would come closest to filling that itch. Thx for the playthru.
@@jamenta2 Its a shame the reprint is taking so long. I was lucky to pick up the base game and the expansion for a very reasonable price.
@@jamenta2 I have completed the Longest day campaign it took about three months. Great game but dated its the only title I kept from my youth.
@@Jezza_One I played using either cyberboard or the Vassal module - it's been decades. Although I also had a hardcopy of the game as well. The two players I was playing against quit after a few months of play. But I really enjoyed the scope and the variety it offered. And it got me hooked on playing "Monsters".
ps: I was also surprised they did not include Cherbourg in the UTAH release of GTS. But the game system is brilliant.
It's really switching from monster to monster 😁 I'll need to get the new one once it comes out but really looking forward to comparing it to GTS
This is one great game I’ve played it a few times. I hope you enjoy it.
@@clarkcommando1983 i have played a few days of this scenario before. Its a good system with a suprising low rules overhead for a monster.
looks good man...
It’s on pre order at GMT P500
Whoa!
@@usg-647 This is pushing my gaming area to its limits. I could have wall mounted the Cherbourg map or put it to one side of the main area but I thought lets see the whole map together.
I think they could design follow on scenarios for the GTS Normandy games to play the battles through August.
I had this and got a little burnt out on the redundancy of the play. Meaning, I missed some of the randomness or friction of the chit pull and task checks of GTS.
That said, I like the idea of BfN because it does cover the July and August battles.
And BfN does have a nice number of scenarios.
@@WARdROBEPlaysWWII The Breakout scenario is the real gem for me because it gets rid of tbe crazy randomness of D-Day. If GTS covered some of the allied offensives such as Goodwood, Epsom, Cobra and the Falaise Gap would be great.
@@Jezza_Onethey just need someone to design the scenarios, maps, OOBs, etc and it’s done! : )
I would like to know what you think after your playing of it.
Would it be easier to initially just leave the southern part of the map? The main action will be up north initially...
@@przemekbozek Yes it would but I wanted to see the whole thing on the table. 😃
I'm really interested as to why GTS is your favourite game system, not in a confrontational way you understand. Just genuinely interested. Because ive seen many comments about GTS from players such as yourself, who i enjoy watching the content you create and clearly have a very good grasp and understanding as to what constitutes a good hex and counter wargame. Yet, when it comes to GTS I'm clearly missing something. I find it fiddly, and mechanically clunky..I'm coming to the conclusion I'm missing the picture on this game system and need to spend more time with it.
@@iwanhughes2965 I am sure I did a video on why I like GTS have a look through the videos on the channel. One of the reasons is the fact it is great for solo play due to the chit pull system.
@jeremyboughtono2 I need to look through your back catalogue. I have a bit of catching up,as I missed your play through of BCS valley of tears.
Thanks for the heads up😊
Imm the same way with BCS. I want to like that game but some of the co cents elude me.
@@WARdROBEPlaysWWII BCS is my second favourite system its radically different from any other system and is difficult to get your head round at first.
@WARdROBEPlaysWWII BCS really is worth the effort. It's a stroke of genius. Takes a bit of getting used to though.
