Marching Season Tension in Derry

Every year in Northern Ireland, both the Irish Republicans and the British Unionists build huge bonfires to celebrate their culture. Each side burns the other’s flag.
We went to the Bogside in #Derry to talk with a group of young lads calling themselves the Bogside Republican Youth. They spent all summer building this year’s bonfire, which caused controversy due to its links to the IRA and the recent violence in the area.
The biggest problem of the Bogside is not militancy though, it’s the poverty and complete lack of leadership. Derry has the highest rate of unemployment in Northern Ireland, more than twice the average. The city is also one of the most unemployed in the UK as a whole. The young lads of the Bogside have nothing to do and nowhere to go.
We filmed with them over two days as they set the bonfire alight.

And the reason is that it’s intentional divide and rule. The decision to allow mass migration to mainland England is the same. Those of us with a deep sense of history know the reason we have massive Muslim ghettos in Bradford, Birmingham and East London is to act as a buffer between us and the state. These poor people wanting a better life end up not assimilating or integrating in sufficient numbers to get rid of their ‘other tag’. As a result they’ll always be outsiders and as their numbers grow, the tension between them and Hindus and Sikhs, or whites, will grow and then it’s Ulster 2.0. Who’s the winner? The elite who created this barrier between themselves and the rest of us. Classic divide and rule. If we’re killing each other we’re not going after them! It’s so transparent.

the people no matter their ideology need to be educated not just because it will help their critical thinking but also because an educated man can represent their idea in a more decent and persuasive manner. they can conduct themselves appropriately which in turn will show the good side of their ideology and make it more appealing, their efforts will also be better rewarded. these kids could make fine representatives for their people and beliefs but unfortunately organisations care only for numbers and not the quality of their followers and as a result the whole objective becomes less clear and people slowly forget the goal and stay for the "fun and violence". The kids by the bonfire represent a fine idea so poorly, they look like hooligans. No wonder they are not popular. Even Lenin that represented communism and the working class wore a suit and for a reason.

      ???
Using personal anecdote is retarded, and you've clearly based your entire opinion on NI on that rather than actual accounts and studies.
The British establishment recognized sectarianism as a divisive tool to employ against the Protestant United Irishmen in Ulster and the divide and conquer method of colonial dominion was officially encouraged by the Government. Brigadier-General C.E. Knox wrote to General Lake (who was responsible for Ulster): "I have arranged ... to increase the animosity between the Orangemen and the United Irishmen, or liberty men as they call themselves. of the North. "[9]
I feel sad for Unionists, their ancestors persecuted by Anglicans yet they still see them as brothers over their own neighbours. Do you not learn about this stuff in school, or do they tell you to base your opinion on NI on "personal anecdote"? Wake up and realise you live on the island of Ireland.
