  • God’s plan of salvation does not find its origin in Israel or even in the garden of Eden, but in eternity itself. Before time began, God established a covenant to redeem a people for Himself. In this message, R.C. Sproul teaches on the promise of redemption planned by the Father, accomplished by the Son, and applied by the Holy Spirit to His people as He draws them to Christ.
This message is from Dr. Sproul’s 14-part teaching series The Promise Keeper: God of the Covenants. Learn more: www.ligonier.org/learn/series...

They don’t appreciate the label Covenant Theology because they know there’s no scripture to back them up. There are no verses for a covenant of grace, covenant of works or a covenant of redemption. These Reformed Theologians made them up. And yet where the actual word covenant IS used like in Genesis 15, Psalm 89 and 2 Samuel 7, they ignore those actual covenants because they’re for Israel with connections to the last days. And Covenant Theologians are against Israel. So to make their square peg fit a round hole, they allegorize eschatology.

@@jessyjonas4988 Where’s the word covenant? That’s my point. They say God made a covenant of Grace in Genesis and of Works, but they don’t exist. We’re IN the age of Grace right now, but it’s not a covenant. Their own head Covenant Theologian, Dr. Berkhof wrote in his infamous book, Systemic Theology, since the word covenant isn’t used in the first three chapters of Genesis, they took it upon themselves to construct one. They made it up. And they completely ignore the actual covenants that God made in Genesis 9:13, Genesis 15 & 2 Samuel 7 and Psalm 89 with Abraham. We *know* those are covenants bc the word Covenant is used. Gods word isn’t complicated to understand. Very easy to follow. The word Covenant is used in those chapters. That’s how we know they’re covenants. But as for a covenant of grace- Zero scripture to back that up. You won’t find it bc it doesn’t exist! Can’t you see that? They ignore the covenants for Israel bc they don’t like Israel. Guess who else doesn’t like Israel? His name starts with an S. Reformed Theology is a false doctrine that contradicts Romans 11. Please research this.

It always is amazing to me , how great minds think alike ! R.C. reminds me so often of one of my early teachers. Dr John Warwick Montgomery whom I was very fortunate to have had several lectures with while he was at University of Chicago. The eloquence of R.C. is almost identical to Dr John ! The set here where R.C. recorded this program is also virtually identical to the set where I last saw Dr. Montgomery. I am so very happy to have known such men as these ! Inspiring God Knowing Men .

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Jeremiah 31:31-34

Isaiah ‘by his stripes we are saved’.
Before his crucifixion our Lord was beaten , flogged, such that when He was crucified the cross was covered with His holy blood.
This is the new covenant as promised in Isaiah.
Thus, Yeshua called him myself the Aleph and the Tav. In Hebrew/ Gid and the covenant.
He signed this covenant between Gid and man ( He was both) with His blood on the cross. This is how covenants were described in the Old Testament, written in blood between the two parties.
An animal sacrifice but praise be to God He sacrificed Zhumself.
    Hallelujah
Peace and Sabboth is in Christ 💕

“But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.” Hebrews 9:11-15
