Damn Edward. This is heavy. I really appreciate you being real and raw about your relationship with your kids and their struggles. None of us are perfect and we do seek to blame our parents for a lot, because the truth is our parents have messed us up, but at a certain age you have to be culpable for your actions and stop blaming your failures on external factors that may have impacted you. You have to be accountable to yourself and you have to forgive and forget.
Also, Carlos is a really empathic and sweet soul for really meeting you half way in that conversation.
Chris seemed really lost in thought and thinking about his potential failures and successes from different perspectives. But at the end of the day, he has his kids in his lives and he’s blessed for that.
This was a great conversation.
