Why Swan Princess and Strange Magic are on the List?
I think I’m going to need a Top 10 for the Barbie musicals 😄
I’m pretty sure I have watched them all many times with my daughters.
@@entertainmentpowerfuchs5744 obvious cult reasons, plus Swan Princess actually is worthwhile and the best that has come from Rich Rich
i think you can honorably count on the Tome and Jerry 1993 film
"FernGully: The Last Rainforest" NEEDS to be reintroduced to a new generation.
It was...Avatar 😂
James Cameron literally took the premise and plot and used it for Avatar. Are we sure Avatar shouldn’t get a copyright strike?
I once watched that movie. It was nice.
Completely agree!😊❤
I checked, and it's streaming on Hulu.
"Cats Don't Dance" is a true gem!
I love that movie!!
@@jaebyrd4608I’m actually going to continue watching it after this video Lol 😂 And I’ve got a t-shirt with Danny and Sawyer on it 🐱🚫💃🏻🥰🥰
@@jaebyrd4608same
The early Don Bluth films, An American Tail, All Dogs Go to Heaven, Secret of Nimh and Land Before Time never fail to bring tears to my eyes.
They were all incredible!
I can't really watch All Dogs Go to Heaven because I start crying about what happened to the little voice actress who played the girl... They were all great films though.
@@rachelw1076 Yes, it's times like this I wish we still had more of Don Bluth's 2D animated movies and arcade games around today.
The songs in Lion King 2 are incredible. "My Lullaby" is a pretty good villain song. And "in Upendi" and Not One Of Us" are absolute bops.
Imo, My Lullaby was a better villain song than Be Prepared
Love will find a way is a great song too
There is no greater power than to rule over the land!!!!
He lives in you was also a banger of a song
@@glenncross4987 that’s my favorite song from the movie
Of all the direct to video Disney sequels, Lion King 2 was actually not bad
Honestly, it is one of the few Disney sequels I like, too
I liked Kronk's New Groove
If Swan Princess wasn’t on here I would scream. But thank you, when I got married the ending song Eternity was the song my husband and I danced to at the reception.
And I have been known to sing the song to my girls every once in awhile.
FINALLY SOMEONE ACKNOWLEDGES Thumbelina as underrated!!!
IMO "Let Me Be Your Wings" is its only redeeming quality.
@@kittylover62 my favorite song was Soon (reprise)
The music and singing was good, but the story could've been done a lot better.
@@dreamguardian8320 yeah, I kinda agree with that
Seeing Thumbelina on the cover one of the most beloved movies of my childhood and a movie that has a soundtrack that I listen to on a very regular basis even all these years later makes me so happy!
Look, Marry the Mole is a banger and I'll die on that hill. "Dead, dead, VERY VERY DEAD" has been part of mine and my mother's lexicon just about my entire life.
All Songs from Hazbin Hotel Season 1! RANKED
Yes! That would be a great list to see!
If you're going to rank songs from Hazbin Hotel, you need to do that for its sister show Helluva Boss…if not already done.
Damn, the fact that I watched most of these movies and continue watching them whenever, no matter the fact that I'm too old for them, shows how good they are and they were a staple part for my childhood.
Oliver and Company was a good one. I love Strange Magic and Ferngully
not mentioned: Anastasia - love the songs from this brilliant film🤎 also Oliver and Company - the tunes in this are stunning!🧡
Was looking for this comment I loveeee Anastasia
@@yeghoian my favourite songs are : Once upon a December and You can learn to do it✨
Aladdin and the King of Thieves. Robin Williams came back to voice Genie and Aladdin/Jasmine got married. The story moved my dad and addresses a difficult subject.
Don Bluth made such incredible films after he left Disney. An American Tail and Anastasia were MASTERPIECES.
Yes, it's times like this I wish we still had more of Don Bluth's 2D animated movies and arcade games around today.
That is so true, These particular musical films don't get nearly as much love and credit as they deserve! I mean granted the movies themselves may not be perfect but the VA's and artists still put their heart and souls into bringing them to life especially the musical sequences.
A few others that you guys missed
1. Titan A.E
2. The Black Cauldron
3. Meet The Robertsons
4. Rise of the Guardians
5. The Page Master
I really want "Quest for Camelot" to be made into a live-action musical remake!
Thank you for the love towards "The Road to El Dorado", it was such a staple of my childhood, mostly thanks to Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branagh's amazing chemistry.
I've loved Strange Magic since I first saw it. I was pretty much thinking that I was the only one. I wish it had gotten a Blu-Ray release instead of just a DVD.
“Ferngully”, “An American Tale”, “Road To El Dorado”, all these underrated animated movie musicals don’t deserve being called underrated. They’re all classical gems to me and my childhood.
You really need to look up what underrated means
Tangled. Alan Menken knocked it out of the park and it was steamrolled by frozen.
I agree that Frozen kinda over shone it, but Tangled is hardly forgotten or lost. Personally I think Tangled has a tighter story line than Frozen, so I love it more😅
Cats don’t dance is amazing. BIG AND LOUD
In between all my Disney vhs tape viewing as a kid, most of these films found their way into my vcr quite regularly!! So excited to see them on this list and I hope loads of other kids get to enjoy the music and animation!!! 🎉😄
I knew they were gonna say Lion King 2! One of the best direct to video sequels! What it lacks in animation, it truly makes up for in music!
Oliver & Company is an amazing, underrated musical! “Why should I worry?” Is a bop!
I grew up on swan princess,Barbie and quest for Camelot and I still love them and constantly am rewatching them
Oh damn! Fievel!! It's been a while!!! Oh the nostalgia!
Happy Feet is one of my favorites, second is Rock-A-Doodle,very underrated animated 90's musical.
Man if Warner Bros ever does a Cats Don’t Dance remake I know the perfect cast for it.
I don't want it to be remade. I'd rather it be re-released.
@@CaptainCretaceous91 at one point it was available for streaming and I watched it several times
@@jaebyrd4608 I have it on DVD, so I can watch it whenever I want.
Well, do you guys at least want to know who I want to cast if they ever do a remake?
@@raymondmaciel4047Sure I would
Here is a movie that didn't make the list, but should have at least made the honourable mentions in my opinion: Mickey, Donald & Goofy: The Three Musketeers. 🙂 I loved this movie and its songs as a child, especially All for one and One for all! 😁
And Sweet Wings of Love is probably THE most underrated Disney love song of all time, and it's beautiful! 💖 And all the songs were written on real pieces of classical music, which makes it all extra impressive! 💞 I love this underrated gem and I wish more people would watch it...
It’s such a shame An American Tale doesn’t get more love. That was my favorite movie/soundtrack as a kid. ❤
Amazing video ms mojo,fantastic job.
Disney should remake Thumbelina 1994 in CGI animation and maker her an official Disney princess for the 30th anniversary
As long as it isn't like any of the most recent Disney films. No shoving any woke issues down our throats
@@kittylover62 Hate to burst your bubble, ignoramus... but ALL of these movies are - by the very definition - 'woke.'
Good Luck with finding an animated movie that isn't.
I love the pebble and the penguin and the lion king 2. All the songs are so beautiful
All the songs from Lion king 2. Happy thursday afternoon, Emily. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
this video unloacked a memory! i used to love quest for camelot! i saw it in theater as a kid, so good.
ADDING VIVO TO MY LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA LIST OF EPIC MOVIES! YOU ROCK LMM 😊❤
I wanna say Pagemaster with Macaulay Culkin and Whoopi Goldberg but I can only recall one song
Also Over The Moon should be on this list, their song Ultraluminary is a bop
166: I have so much love for Quest for Camelot since I was a kid. I Stand Alone is a fan favorite, Looking Through Your Eyes touches my heart all the time and If I Didn’t Have You is a funny duo by Eric Idle and Don Rickles
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤
The omission of Secret of Nimh is unforgiveable. Jukebox musicals do not deserve a place on this list above this masterpiece!
Here are my favorite non-Disney animated musicals/movies -
1. The Swan Princess (the first three. Not the other ones because the animation in them is weird, cheap, and creepy.)
2. The King and I 1999
3. Anastasia 1997
4. Thumbelina 2003
5. Quest for Camelot
6. The Princess and the Pea 2002
7. Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas
8. Strange Magic (to me, this is a version of Beauty and the Beast. It always has been and always will be.)
9. Belle 2022 (another amazing version of Beauty and the Beast which makes me very happy.)
It goes to show how incredible animated films were between 1985-2000. If you never saw a single Disney movie released in that period (missing out on the entire renaissance), but saw all the others, you'd still have one unbelievable crop of films.

Tammy AI: Get video info faster & better
Vivo, Happy Feet, Corpse Bride, Lion King 2, and most of the Barbie musicals are my favorites
I was sad to see Cats don’t Dance and All Dogs Go to Heaven didn’t make the actual list, but one Don Bluth one that NO ONE talks about is Rock-a-doodle-doo. Definitely one of my absolute favorites!
At this point, just have a top 10 Don Bluth movies. Lol
Yes! I actually prefer the songs in Rock a Doodle over Thumbelina. Jodi Benson is amazing, but the rest of the cast was just kinda meh for me
And the Raggedy Ann Movie! That was a musical too! It also inspired digital circus!
162: My childhood is mixed with five or six different animated studios but I love musicals
My sister and I saw The Road To El Dorado for the first time about a year ago and oh my gosh!! It is so good! The characters are ridiculously hilarious (and they have ridiculously good actors voicing them) and we spent most of the movie just laughing our faces off. I was also just stunned by how bright and colorful the movie was. It was gorgeous
I’m always happy to see “FernGully The Last Rainforest” get some attention and it’s one of my favorite childhood movies!😊💕💕💕
“Humans can’t feel anything. They’re numb from the brain down.”😂😂😂
In a way, true.
Honorable mention for Journey Back to Oz, the animation with Liza Minelli playing Dorothy
A lot of these are just wonderful.
* *Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure crying in the corner* *
156: I find it stunning that Sony Animation decided to do a musical animated movie with Lin-Manuel Miranda. The movie itself is beautiful, emotional and great songs.
I had a three movie marathon on my IPad by Sony Animation. The Mitchell’s vs The Machines, Wish Dragon and Vivo
I can definitely agree that these songs deserve more attention than forgotten memories. It’s easy to see why. I never forget my childhood on An American Tail, Quest for Camelot, Thumbelina, and The Road to El Dorado.
Quite a few classics I need to binge
161: Thank you for saying that. I don’t know how long I’ve waited for WatchMojo to say The Prince of Egypt is a masterpiece
Dreamworks should be making more 2D animated movies today, same with Disney.
Quest for Camelot is one of my all-time favourite childhood musical fantasies growing up. Carole Bayer Sager and David Foster's songs are beautiful. My favourite songs are Looking Through Your Eyes, On My Father's Wings and I Stand Alone.
from the ones already mentioned in the video: Thumbelina is my favourite! what a jem of a movie with catchy, wonderful songs.💖 Road to El Dorado was also really good too.💛
*MY FAVORITES:*
Thumbelina
Happy Feet
Cats Don't Dance
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride
The Swan Princess
Strange Magic
Troll
All Dogs Go to Heaven
The Road to El Dorado
Sing
Corpse Bride
The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea
I loved Happy Feet when I was little 😂 I’ve watched it a couple of times as I’ve gotten older and it still is so fun and cute! Plus it has an insanely awesome cast
Thumbelina is one of my fave childhood movies.
There should be a live action version of it
YES!! The Barbie movies!!! My childhood!! I’d watch them everyday!! I still think about and sing the songs from those movies a lot 😂
I would included Joseph King of Dreams. Sure, the songs are not as phenomenal as the ones from The Prince of Egypt, but most of them were pretty good for direct-to-video standards, such as "Miracle Child", "Bloom", "Marketplace", "More Than You Take" and "You Know Better Than I", which is easily the best one of the film.
Omg SO happy Quest for Camelot made the list! Tho I must disagree on just an honorable mention for Cats Don’t Dance (ITS SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH & NEEDS EVEN MORE ATTENTION!!), I feel like those two movies would switch if I had to choose to switch 😅
No raggedy Ann and Andy a musical adventure?
Plenty of these I can agree with. I loved the Pebble and the Penguin growing up and I have a fondness for Vivo.
You know what other animated musicals I think might be underrated:
.My Little Pony: Equestria Girls:Rainbow Rocks
.The 2017 My Little Pony movie
.Lady and The Tramp 2:Scamp’s Adventure
.The King and I
.The Return of Jafar
.Selected The Land Before Time sequel films
"Thumbelina" was my favorite (at the time) non-Disney animated movie ❤
"Swan Princess," "All Dogs Go to Heaven" and "Pebble and the Penguin," too ❤️
"Lion King II " is one of the absolute best direct to video sequels
FINALLY!!! Someone acknowledges LION KING 2 as having beautiful songs.
I LOVE "The Swan Princess"!!! 😁 Its songs are absolutely fantastic, especially "Far Longer Than Forever"! 😊
Thumbelina I only have heard bits and pieces about.. but I'd still want to see it, MORESO "strange magic".. that one looks VERY INTERESTING.
As for myself, I've loved the Corpse bride.. not just because tim burton did a great job like he did with the now legendary Nightmare before Christmas... I also loved ( and still do) "all dogs go to heaven".. those with all that are shown, are among my favorites.
Cool list
I've watched many of this musical movies and I love every single one of them.
The Adventures of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina is an amazing and extremely underrated Disney movie from 2002. It takes the stories of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina and turns them into a love story between the titular characters. It has a great soundtrack and an evil mole king who is the hilarious antagonist
160: (GASPS) Underrated or whatever, I love Strange Magic. Ever since I’ve seen Son of the Mask, I didn’t know Alan Cumming can sing. Guilty pleasure or whatever, I love the soundtrack. Plus Kristen Chenoweth, been a fan of hers since I’ve seen Wicked
So granted most of these movies came out in my teens/early adult life (save for Don Bluth), but I absolutely adore Cats Don’t Dance, Swan Princess, and Lion King 2.
I feel Disney’s Oliver & Co is also underrated. The Goofy Movie was underrated for a long time, but I’m glad it’s getting its well deserved love now.
I would say those are great choices. Another animated musical I’d consider underrated is the fearless four. Inspired by the German novel the musicians of Bremen, they casted the greats for it: James Ingram, Oleta Adams, B.B. King, and Zucchero.
Happy Feet is my favorite underrated animated musical so I'm happy it made it's way on this list 😄👏🏻🐧🎶💕
"Somewhere outthere" is my sister's and my song. Has been our whole lives. There's nothing wrong with teaching kids about empathy and how to maintain connection through the hardest most challenging parts of life. An American Tale is about hope and connection through trials.
163: I remember watching FernGully at Village Glenn during Summer School. I feel like the animated movie hit big with Tim Curry and Robin Williams
Lion King 2 is my Roman Empire, I love it so much!
Lion king 2 IS epic.
I always loved "The Road To El Dorado" as a great buddy comedy musical and a great homage tribute to Bob Hope and Bing Crosby's Road To... Series.
158: For my love of childhood movies, my top ones are Quest for Camelot, The Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina and The Swan Princess
I loved happy feet. I was really impressed by the animated tapping
Swan Princess and thumbelina are my favourite
I still have the swan princess movies and quest of Camelot on dvd. I’m saving for a future child to watch them with 😊
Finally some recognition for quest for Camelot and lion king 2 … and swan princess also heard some other movies I saw growing up
I watched Swan Princess like once when I was very little and it’s been a very long time since I last saw it. I don’t even remember much about it but I know I’ve seen it! 😂
I like Thumblina and road to El Dorado and American tail and quest for Camelot and swan princess and cat don't dance and corpse bride
With the exception of Vivo, Thumbelina and the Barbie movies, I have seen and love all the movies on the list.
I heard some Disney fans say that Simba's Pride is the best Disney animated movie.
If the Chipmunk Adventure isn't number one, there must be a problem! It's so good and so underrated.
Okay, I'm not mad at number one. 🗣 Deceptionnnn
Finally some love for The Quest for Camelot!!!
167: I don’t think so. I heart Cats Don’t Dance. At first, I watched it by parts on my mom’s computer until I got it on DVD. It’s a fun gem
An American Tail was the first movie I saw in the theater. I even had a Fievel doll that I brought with me as my “date.”
the Road to eldorado is awesome to say the least and for a friend i'll say this a lot of people seem to forget the swan princess also became a franchise
With the exception of vivo because I didn't feel like watching it and strange magic cuz I never knew it came out and quest for Camelot because I haven't watched it yet, but I love all the other movies that are on this list especially thumbelina and FernGully
I loved the Swan Princess 👸🦢 such underrated classic from my childhood and still love it ❤️❤️ also I just recently watched Lion King 2 and I gotta say it’s a pretty good sequel pretty much the only good sequel from Disney 😊
I have two boys but my niece is named after Kaylee! (Different spelling) Quest for Camelot is EXTREMELY underrated!!!
