One interesting thing I've noticed is in the underwear escape pod level in the first game is how did Zor know which eacape pod the agent would use to put a grenade in the engine?

I think that Zor fucked up all escape pods. When I have heard in IEYTD3 that Ollie goes to escape pod i think that one is also faulty.
