    I recently bought a bottle of 2022 Macallan 18 for around C$850 (whisky is extremely overpriced here)... In hindsight I could've bought multiple bottles of Glenfarclas instead. I should've.

      Dude I am sorry to hear this. It should be the best 12 year old on the market. It should be better in taste than indie bottles of a similar age and style. The buyer should be rewarded with an outstanding smell and taste event for paying such an exorbitant price. It should be an easy decision for Christmas or special events to upgrade to Mac 12. Unfortunately, none of that is the case.
      I hope we see more real accounts that drown out the fakers so that other malt heads or even newbies aren’t persuaded to get any Mac. I think I’ll only get Classic Cut if at all going forward.
      Cheers my friend🥃🥃🥃🥃

    Wow this Glenfarclas 15 review brings me to your channel, dude your description is accurate and vivid, amazing. Glenfarclas is a Scotch I would be happy to have the whole range in my collection. Love this stuff, sweet sherry, grassy, with wild character. Thank you for the kiss on the bottle.

  • @aframs-cctaf-rams-cct6424

    Good vid and agree w your scores bro.
    If I may suggest something… is adding the score as a graphic or paper. I tend to rewatch videos looking for scores when at the store or browsing whisky online stores and it’s easier to fwd and stop video when I see a score haha. I reckon I am not the only feller who does that lol

    As it turns out, “MacAllan” is Gaelic for “overpriced disappointment”, and they’re really living up to their name. For me it was one bottle and out. Love the GF 15 ✨✨cheers from Norway.

      Hi Max, I think the last time I really enjoyed a Mac was Classic Cut 1 and 2. The world is full of better whiskies! How are the Norwegian whiskies coming song?
      Cheers🥃🥃🥃🥃

    • @mattd2001
      @mattd2001 Před 7 měsíci

      @@WhiskyWhistle The Norwegian whiskies are coming along just fine, taking its time. The oldest standard bottling now is 10 yo. Most producers are going for quality over quantity, higher abv and natural presentation. Prices are a bit stiff though.

  • @lyacoubian
    @lyacoubian Před 2 lety +3

    Absolutely spot on review as always.
    As good as Glenfarclas 15 is, I find the 43% 17 year old to be deeper and even more seductive.
    Fine Oak, Double and Triple Cask bottlings have fallen short of Macallan's Sherry Oak expressions. I will control myself and refrain from commenting on their pricing policies.

    • @WhiskyWhistle
      @WhiskyWhistle  Před 2 lety +1

      I like the 17 as well. I might have compared that with Balvenie 17 a while back: czcams.com/video/XnxOgECTgm0/video.html
      It’s hard not to be critical. I hope they figure out the over woody issue that is bugging me. And the pricing is bizarre. I still enjoy the special editions, but things are getting out of hand.
      Cheers Lorenz thanks my friend🥃🥃🥃🥃

    A fabulous comparison/review Mark! Glenallachie 15 (the more recent bottling’s) would be a great comparison to these two. Here in the States around $100. 46% non CF and Natural Color. Delightful 15! Totally agree with the Mac15! Prefer Mac12 double wood over the 15. Have a great weekend! Neal! (Yes I need to become a Paetron!) this weekend!

      it’s always great to explore different serving methods. I think you’ll experience an intense grape apricot fruitiness and intense oak with Mac 15 on ice.

    I watch where whiskies are headed and I'm thinking Highland Park in the new Macallan. The prices are moving up fast and quality is sliding.

    Hey Mark, that looked and sounded painful reviewing the Macallan 15. I have a Mac 12 year Sherry bottle which I paid handsomely for in Ontario and I am scared to open it for the same reason. I have gone through two bottles of GF 15 and they have been absolutely fantastic.

    • @WhiskyWhistle

      I have an unopened botyleof tge triple Cask 12. After I bought it, the 7 liquor store had Macallan samples in little crappy little plastic shot glasses. I was disappointed. A couple of years later, a friend poured me some he had in an old fashion glass. It was pretty good. I paid 95. It's 120 now. I'd rather buy Arran Sherry Cask or Aberlour A'Bundha. Or even Tomatin 12 or Glenfarclas 12.

      @Rohit_M Před 2 lety +1
