A fun mod could be a "all roads lead to Rome" situation, where basically all trade routes end in the city of Rome. I don't really know how that would impact the game overall
I suggested an idea a while back where all provinces in the game were considered adjacent to Rome.

It would probably slightly nerf Genoa and Venice and heavily nerf Britain, the Dutch, and the French. Most other nations would be exactly the same as 2/3 of trade nodes end pretty close to Rome and the English Channel node isn't too far off.

@@yaelz6043 Maybe he means more like "all trade nodes in the game feed directly into Rome" and Rome can be a 1 province trade node
What if the world was divided by religions, but then also by subcontinent. So, for example, Catholic Eastern Europe would be Poland with the weat being the pope. That would mean that nations wouldnt have random exclaves that they cant defend and big nations would be further divided for a more interesting map
Kingdom of God losing it's hegemony status, because they lost their territories in Central America. The game seemingly does not know how to handle reinforcing lands across sea tiles.
Start the game in 1444 with 1821 borders and nations
I have a weird suggestion: what if a OPM held the entire world, uncored. Essentially, this would guarantee that they would explode due to rebels and we would be seeing a fallen empire, so it would be interesting how they would respond and if they could recover from their collapse and maintain their dominant position. Also, Ulm supremacy.
There'd be little to no difference between that and a normal eu4 start, they're never gonna be able to regain legitimacy unless there was a player nation that was using them for the free claims.
If it was uncored they wouldn't have any cores to reconquer, and they'd get rebels everywhere way before they'd have the time to core even a single province

I'd like to think based upon an agreement between KoG and Tibet that Byzantium would be allowed to gain new land in order for them to become a neutral zone/border between KoG and Tibet that prevents both nations from having border friction. In other words, they don't bother each other anymore. Pelym and As having a trade route with that small line that Byzantium has. So, all three nations have a win.
Did Byzantium keep their debuffs? 'Cus that would make it especially hard for them to stand up to the Papists and the Ottoblob

@@TheMcgreary I just looked it up. They claim they changed her tribe to Choctaw to make the story “more authentic” whatever that means.
That would piss me off if I was Cheyenne, it’s a bullshit reason and insulting. Then again if I was Cheyenne maybe I would just be happy no one will associate us with that show.
The average american isn't even aware of the Choctaw Nation either. It's a stupid decision to change her tribe but dude just called her Cherokee out of left field lol. We don't get that much representation in film or media that isn't heavily stereotyped. Just unfortunate the movie was garbage. @@TheMcgreary

What if every country was just 1 province but still the same setup as base game diplomatically but also that province was 40 def for everyone. Also they only have 1 colonist and nothing more.

All countries as a migratory/settled OPM tribe, with their starting province being their capital and their core lands being their tribal territory.

I'm still all for spawning in protestantism when we have few Catholic nations. Absolutism is just too good, it makes the AI blob out way more.

I guess the pope just went nope. I mean it kinda makes sense considering the pope is in control of all of Europe.
If I had to guess, since the reformation gets triggered when catholicism has enough reform desire (which catholicism gains from individual catholic nations' decisions and event choices), and since there was only one catholic nation, there wasn't enough reform desire for the reformation to happen

You should really have set up this scenario with Protestant/Reformed/Anglican tags to break up the European Catholic blob, either along vaguely historical lines or you could’ve force spawned and released a tag for it with all converted provinces as its cores. Not super entertaining watching Europe win another slanted scenario for the 17th time in a row after starting off 2000 dev ahead lol. But hey, you do you Chewy, I’m sure your audience eats that sort of content up.

They have made so many DLC over the years on non European content for that to be a valid argument for the overdevelopment of Europe in 1444.
Also even if it was valid, that doesn't mean we should just accept the eurocentrism of the game without an actual good reason for it
