On this flight, I'm headed back to the US on my second 747 flight and managed to snag a seat in the upper deck!
In the upper deck, every window seat has storage compartments for any bags or amenities you could store. It was good for storing my camera and portable charger. The overhead bins are much smaller so any large rollers including mine, were stored in large baggage lockers for the flight.
The seat was very comfortable and the legroom available was better than the main cabin's. Snacks and drinks were put out on a table area above the stairs for passengers to take as they please.
The crew were very kind and provided an excellent service onboard. They would regularly come around and check to make sure everyone was enjoying the flight or desired anything to drink (the perks of being in a smaller cabin than downstairs).
Being able to fly in the upper deck of the 747 is truly an aviation lovers dream. The excitement and anticipation leading up to it made for an incredible experience once I stepped on board. It truly is an experience of a lifetime. I hope to fly on the Queen again soon!

I flew with Virgin from MAN-JFK in January but unfortunately our flight was changed to an A333 going and A332 coming back, I was really disappointed not going on a 747 but this video just shows the beauty of the 747 & just how comfortable it looks to fly on. Hope to fly on at least one some day. ✈

I have sat in the upper deck and it definitely has a special feel to it, But the overhead lockers are not very roomy due to the pointed shape of the ceiling. There are large cupboards behind the seats next to the stairs for luggage that simply will not fit in the overhead lockers.

Seems like a relaxed journey. I am a nervous wreck. I want to do this but my fear of planes are high, but does not seem like the taking off and landing is not that bad I guess

Economy light I presume, although I paid extra for the seat just behind him, not sure if that's bumped my ticket.
it's normal economy, virgin are the only airline I know of that do this, which I think naturally attracts aviation lovers to their 747s, which then gets them exposure on youtube, etc. Not totally convinced it was an accident to put economy up there thinking about it. Despite that, you still feel a bit special because it's like your own personal narrow body aircraft and there's something quite exclusive feeling about being upstairs.

Who ever cleaned that aircraft needs the sack, those large bins need a dam good clean full of other peoples shit. And buy yourself a decent camera a Nikon, not canon crap. Have a good flight.
