I wish there was an app which allows HDMI out from camera to USB-C on the phone.
@@MrMilanina there would be an app for it if it were possible but pretty much no phones do video IN on their port so an app can’t be made for it

Awesome app but the lag and pause makes it almost unusable on ip11 and a7c. Any body have a workaround? Does the latency improve on the purchased version vs lite?
Do you have any issues with it dropping out or crashing using it wirelessly? I was thinking of getting an android device so I can plug in directly to the camera.

It's free with limited features. Actual cost is $18 which is far less than a field monitor. However, wireless connection only works with high-end Sony cameras so check the website.
Same! I sold my PortKeys, Feelworld, and Atomos monitors and replaced them with a new iPad mini. Not only was the iPad mini cheaper but it was more color accurate and higher resolution. I use my iPad mini as a monitor for my Red Komodos.
Oh snap, didn’t think to use the iPad mini! I’ll have to do that now!

I have tried this several times, The free version, iPhone 11 max pro and FX3 and it disconnects every 5-10 seconds and I have to reconnect with the QR code every time even though my camera is shown in the list..? Anybody have the same problem...? Thanks

Yep, that s a great app and more versatile than field monitor, maybe not as good, but good enough for the use of non professional like me. And I also use it as remote when I’m away from my camera

Used it for my a7siii and it worked great! However it drains your camera battery FAST! Once I find a workaround it would be perfect!

dosent work for the a7iii
I'm using a wired connection on this app, but shooting at 120fps the lag is intense. It almost hangs. I haven't tried shooting in 4K24. Any lag on that?
Change your Wi-Fi in your camera to 5Ghz

The app looks great but it doesn’t support a lot of sony cameras… only few new ones. No A6600 support, for example. Also, I wonder: one thing that always drove me crazy with the Sony I.edge was the fact that, every time I wanted to see what I just filmed in the phone it would shut off I needed to start everything over again. Does this happens with this app?
Have you been able to find a monitor app that works for the 6600? I can’t get mine connected to my iPhone 12 via Bluetooth.

That’s an awesome app. However, it has a lot of lag and freezes with my Sony ZV-E10. The best wifi frequency is 5.0 but this camera does not have the option to switch frequencies. I wish there was a way to do it with with a cable.

Use monitor+ app, for iPhone use a lighting to camera usb 3.0 adapter.
Or connect directly to USB c iPad.
Monitor+ has directions/user manual in the app homepage on the top right.

MAJOR NOTE for anybody using an A7C with this app.. switch your WiFi settings on the camera to 5ghz - it's set to 2.4 by default and that's a real bummer. Works like a charm once you make the switch though!

One caveat I'd make you aware of is to check the wifi capabilities of your Sony camera. Many are limited to 2.4Ghz band, namely all APSC and older full frame, best performance is 5Ghz. Lag is improved if hardwired over USB OTG, but that is limited android phones only.

You may need to check your camera make/model though as a some Sony cameras aren’t supported, seems only the latest Sony, A7RIV, A7SIII, A7C etc are so A7III is not
I think Sony needs to buy this app company and integrate it in all their cameras ASAP!
@@SidneyDiongzon definitely, I did look at this option before buying an external monitor (from Chris’s video) but sadly as I have an A7III, this option was not for me, but definitely has potential

Everyone has a big screen in their pocket nowadays, cameras manufacturers need to utilise the tech available, it will be cool to monitor using usb c connection without lag

Honestly I had my S21 Ultra wired via usb c on my 6600 and it was still pretty laggy

In my opinion you overly exaggerated, the user friendliness is 3/10 due to connectivity problems and extreme latency

You’re shooting outside, how did you get camera and iPhone connected? usually those apps need Wi-Fi the same as camera uses. Obviously we can’t find wifi anywhere🙂 btw, good video overall
As far as I can tell, this app doesn't have audio meters. That feature is crucial I would think for making sure your audio levels stay good. It is almost a deal breaker for me.
Funny how everyone saying the Imaging Edge App is Buggy when it's the only app that's connected to my ZVE-10 so far 😂 😂 Monitor+ refuses to connect

The one camera that you could really use it for, the A7III, it doesn't work......All these A7SIII etc. users now have 2 multidirectional monitors......If only I could get an A7SIII, but like the playstation, they are sold out until 2026......
