@TropicalLatitude Thank you for taking a moment to respond to my comment and share that bit of information about her life with me. I hope the family life suited her and fortune smiled upon them.
This is a very good clip of Bo Diddley live on "Hollywood A Go Go" back in 1965..I am a big fan of Bo Diddley's early 1960's music and my favorite one is from 1965 and he does it live on the "Hollywood A Go Go" on this clip and it's called "Let Me Pass" ! 😏
Cool! Your aunt Norma Jean is now considered a rock'n'roll icon, a female pioneer in the music biz! In this clip, she outshines all the other girls with her looks, but most of all her carisma and attitude!
He influenced Stones, Beatles, Zeppelin and more. They all said so. That's why I came here. Maybe this is the reason music now in 2021 seems like it's 'missing something'. Artists now aren't studying and learning their history. They are stuck in a producer machine and unable and even not allowed to create their own material.
All the singers and musical entertainers are pigeon holed these days, no creativity, just really full. You get a couple that squeak pass because of some choreographed dance moves, scantily clad females but for the most part it's dead.
I landed on this video after listening to Michael Nesmith's book "Infinite Tuesday." He talks about the rhythm between Bo and Pegyy's guitars and how inspiring it was to him! 💗💗
Bo doing a not to good lip syncing job on a 1955 recording of 'Bo Diddley' 10 years later in 1965 and the 'California Girls' chest actions-a DELIGHT !!
Now imagine back in the 60s seeing black artists and not a single black dancer. White folks may not have noticed, but we sure did. Oh yeah, it was by design.
+Roger Farmer I don't know which video you were watching, however, the go-go girls are perfectly in time, not everyone can move like the Duchess. Try not to let your prejudice show.
Cracks me up that the overwhelming majority of the white girls were likely racist pigs. However, BO !!! What an amazing series of pieces !!!! Absolute rock dog !!! :)
LOOOVE THIS...BO and THE DUCHESS......rockin' blues magic!

Bo Diddly was into electronics so started designing his own guitars and amplifiers.
That is, without a doubt, the coolest looking woman playing guitar on stage I've ever seen.
The Dutchess

Norma-Jean Wofford. In 1966 she left the band, got married, and raised kids in Florida.

No doubt about Bo Diddley! He knew how to have fun and sure 'got into' doin' his shuffle while he played!
The blonde girl behind Mr. D. is my mother Maria!

This is so true. Artists with a unique sound seem to miss mainstream or if they hit luck after first album they're pushed and molded for masses
sadly, there aren't any amplifiers on stage and nobody is actually plugged in.
It is all lip-sink, but done extremely well!
i didn't know that that Bo Diddley played the "Giii-tärr".
he did it well, though!
"Do the SHOTGUN now!!"
Музыка моего детства,заводит!
I always thought TOTP and Glasronbury presenters were crap, having seen this bloke I now know what crap really means.

A bunch of those dancers became members of the Manson Family.
Skinny white girls with ironed hair. Another adolescent memory from the local dances.

How can Bo keep rhythm when you have all of those girls bobbing up and down out of Rhythm. . . . Just asking
It's air guitar
They looked in rhythm to me.
0:24 how did douche’s like that host get gigs with such legends. Just look at how non groovy he moves
Poison Ivy, duchess, peg....
what a groove, it's all lip synched but who cares :-)
Now imagine back in the 60s seeing black artists and not a single black dancer. White folks may not have noticed, but we sure did. Oh yeah, it was by design.
those white girls just can't dance to this hahahaha
They were doing the dances that were popular in 1965.
+Roger Farmer I don't know which video you were watching, however, the go-go girls are perfectly in time, not everyone can move like the Duchess. Try not to let your prejudice show.
Oh sure they can.... Love it!
Roger Farmer agree!
james smith maybe… but badly!

you're wrong - the Gazzarri dancers on HAGG were down with it, they loved Bo, James Brown etc.
Too bad that these are all "lip-synch" clips.
