RIP Dame Angela Lansbury 😢 my favorites films of her career are The Harvey Girls (with Judy Garland & Ray Bolger), Till The Clouds Roll By (with Judy Garland & Frank Sinatra), The Manchurian Candidate (with Frank Sinatra), Mr. Popper’s Penguins (with Jim Carrey), and The Grinch (with Benedict Cumberbatch)
Elements of The Manchurian Candidate were adapted into the 1897 storyline of the soap opera Dark Shadows

'The Manchurian Candidate' (1962) is still, 60+ years after its release, one of the greatest political thrillers ever made. As the cold and calculating Eleanor Iselin, Angela Lansbury delivered the film performance of her career. She deserved an Oscar for it.

Thank you for putting this on You Tube!
    Love Angela Lansbury!
    Love Alec Baldwin!
    Love this audience, and TCM!
Alec Baldwin is kind of stepping into the shoes of Peter Bogdanovich, tracking movie history through interviews/ conversations... I like this very much.

Just a few thoughts from a 73 year old fan: I dearly love all of Dame Angela's' movies and television appearances. But there were times when I thought it would have been better if "Jessica Fletcher" had just butted out! Also, they failed to mention another star of "Manchurian Candidate," and that was Janet Leigh, who happened to receive divorce papers from Tony Curtis while she was filming the scene of her with Sinatra on the train.

I have always loved and been a fan of great acting. Excellent and who were the very best are : Bette Davis; also who I believe was the very best of all was Kim Stanley!!! I also think that the unappreciated, unrecognized and one of the most talented of all was angela Lansbury!!! Like Judy Garland, she could do almost anything- act, sing and dance and was probably the greatest of all the female broadway stars!(for over 50 years!!!)🤗💌

    Random "Murder,She wrote"..
You know.. there were 274 murders in Cabot Cove, despite having a population of only around 3500 people..
Around 9% of the town was murdered over the span of 12yrs.. Which made it by far, the #1 most deadly town/city per capita in the U.S! 🤔😁 #Yikes

A wonderful actress subjected to a third rate interview. Self-absorbed and unprepared, Alec Baldwin was a poor choice to follow Robert Osborne.

How could he not have mentioned her role as Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd?? A role she created!! And missing the opportunity to compare the two evil, manipulating women??

Baldwin's a terrible interviewer, among many other things he's terrible at, which is putting it lightly. Wish TCM had any one of their hosts to have done the interviewing instead.

Yes. He kept interrupting and often did not give her the time to finish answering her questions! Sadly, he did not show this enormous icon the respect and the admiration for which she so richly deserved.😳😯🙄🥺😥👎

@@ralphshelley9586 no, he wasn't really bad; however, he was barely adequate and very disappointing to be interviewing such a very great iconic star of such stature! (He was totally inexperienced and incompetent!) He would be much better suited interviewing stars such as Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Reba Macintire dolly farton etc . and such!🤔
