If I wanted to market a game, I would want you both to do the teach & play through! You know the rules and explain them clearly & concisely. The play through is entertaining without dragging. Only problem is I want to buy most games from your videos.

28:34 - The barn in the concession bonus is gray because you can buy ANY horse for free, not just the one rolled. Same for the gray jersey and gray helmet rewards. Also why the free three dollar bet is gray and not marked with a color or the d8 symbol.

Loved the play-through. It was fun to watch... convinced me to back it. When our family gets together for game nights we usually have 6 to 8 people, so this would be great fun I think. This video just popped up in my recommendations, so I decided to watch it again. It really is very lifelike, right down to Vin, the owner of Better Safe Than Sorry (No7), trying to "nobble" his own horse! 😂
I remembered you both doing a great job of explaining the rules in this video so I had to go back and watch it. The first time I watched it, I bought the game soon after. We played it a bunch and then it got shelved. I brought it out last weekend and we completely forgot the rules and were messing them up. The rules to the original game are so ingrained in me that I was mixing them up. We actually had to stop before we started because we couldn't get the rules straight (we played Deception: Murder in Hong Kong instead). I vowed to relearn the rules so we could play it next time. I got 'em now. The only thing I'm unsure of is if multiple people wanted to buy the same horse - I assume whoever is closest in clockwise order to the start player gets it, but I'll check. Thanks!

Truthfully, I was averse to viewing this because, yeah, rolling dice to simulate a horse race sounded like (luck)² - yawn. The simulation turned out to be brilliant and successfully conveyed the _feeling_ of routing for your horse(s) at the race track. Player betting and manipulation tactics (moving horses backwards :-D ) combine so well with the twist and turns resulting from the dice and the properties of the horses' cards. Really fun and suspenseful and challenging even with only two players! Looking forward to backing this. :-)

Haha, similar because of the race theme. I'd say it's closer to Camel Up if you've played that game.
@@BeforeYouPlay The Cubitos comment was a snap judgement on the appearance, not the mechanics. 😅 Never played Camel Up but it's on my list for the kids shelf! I wonder if this is a better option.

At 32:00 Naveen takes the bonus for finishing the line but not the column. Naveen has only taken 7 out of 8 bonuses till the end. With this last bonus he potentially could have gotten #1 which then finished 2nd place or pushed 2 horses back.

I'm not into horse racing but this looks interesting. Especially for the solo player that I saw on the Campaign page. Seems like there will be quite a lot of variety of horses for variablitiy.
24:30 Apparently the rules changed since this was filmed. In the final rules, I read that Free Bets CAN be placed on horses in the home stretch as long as you have checked off that horse jockey's cap.
Just like in real life, horse racing is exciting, venturesome and meaningless 😄

Great teach video as always. I watched it yesterday and taught my girlfriend how to play last night. We really enjoyed this game. Plays great at just two. Only sad part was our horse number 8 just didn't move for the entire race. Poor thing. Wonder what will become of him? 🤔😆

Naveen coulda bought 1 with his last concession. He crossed off a row and column, and he only used one! He woulda bought 1 and got an extra $25 and won big time!
Is it true the rules suggest not mixing the two different sets of cards, and if so, why?
Hi! Great question! The rules actually say that yes, you can mix sets together, but if so, to only use one card per number.
28:12 Hä? You can choose any horse, it doesn't have to be the one the dice is showing. So if you rolled a 1 you can get horse number 8 for free if you like...

We've played it at both 2 & 3 players. We've enjoyed our time at those player counts. 8 sound wild lol

Hi! Thank you so much for asking. In the game, the concessions refers to a "concession stand" where you usually go to purchase food or merchandise at sports events or concerts. Although here it's just an area where you can collect bonuses. I hope that is helpful!

If I try to buy the game on KS it shows about pre order Feb 2022!? Does that mean I will get the game in 2022 not now when I buy it??
