Yep, he was a drug addict at 8 years old, and he went to jail more than once... His father (an addict director, whose movies weren't bad at all) gave him his first hit of weed when he was 6. It's so sad when you think of how many people with his past never made it out... Respect to him. But he did a couple of really nice performances in that time, like in the movie Natural Born Killers.

As he gets older he is becoming uncannily like his father, both physically and in communication. I genuinely don't believe we've yet seen the best performance from Charlie Sheen. If someone gets the right script under him it could be epic.
Agreed! Brilliant actor! And I'm pretty sure a good guy. I don't like bad guys and this fellow has a huge heart. For me, he was the difference between laughing over crying during a trying time in my family's life due to a health crisis. I owe him for helping me keep my chin up and my head above water. actually, it's funny cause here in Spain they got the same voice actor (the one for Charlie Sheen) to dub Bojack. I usually watch stuff in the original dubbing but this match was genius, the resemblance is quite clear and the voice actor is perfect

Charlie actually looks healthier now. He's gained weight, looks sober, is probably taking care of his health now. When he was on drugs he was so gaunt and was really losing his mind. In some strange way maybe this HIV diagnosis has helped him, scared him straight.

i think we all go through a period of our lives where we come off the chain and then "grow up and settle down". most people do this as private citizens and never think of that time again

He is a witty , funny man, plus a great actor. I'm a fan of Charlie's and pray he stays healthy and strong. I just couldn't believe that when one of his regular prositutes , was on the Howard Stern show she said "he only used a special type of condom", she was to stupid to remember the type ! Howard said "Lambskin? ", and she agreed. I was shocked as everyone knows they don't prevent AiDS, or any STD'S. As they are actually Lambskin and breathable! So sad he didn't know.

I have so much sympathy for him. He reminds me a lot of my older brother who eventually died from alcohol. My brother loved Charlie sheen. My hope is, to see Charlie having a massive come back and having the role of his life in something like The Joker. Just to see brother in him coming back from a horrible trip. Please let it happen!

Wow!! I never knew Charlie Sheen had been diagnosed as HIV positive. My god that must have been a terrifying time for him back then . It must be a terrifying thing for anyone to hear considering the association with The AIDS Virus. I really hope Charlie is managing it well and he’s able to cope with it now a bit better. It can’t be an easy thing to know. Not for him or for his famous family.

What I like about Charlie is that he's honest and knows he has made a lot of mistakes, but he won't hide it and say he's never made them, you have to know there's a lot of other A list celebrities out there doing drugs and same activities Charlie was doing, but just keep it low key that's all.

My daughter is bipolar and I've seen her when she is manic, and it was a nightmare, for me, much more than for her, but on the flip side the depression was very painful for her and me, 6 months of torture until she was brought out of it by the right meds for her imbalance to be balanced!
