Mustang GT Premium with Track Pack - 43k or so, better car, faster, more room in for sitting.
Mustang dont have a significant amount of more space maybe a little more. I think the Camaro is more attractive looking. Definatly more aggresive looking.
GT Premium w/ track pack cost more than the camaro... cost like 53k
The 2018, but if you get a '15 GT premium with Track Pack it's like 30k.

I own a 2017 SS 1LE in black. This car is nothing short of spectacular. I prefer this car over my dad's 2014 911 4S. Performance is better than it! And better than a lot of other 100k plus cars. Don't call this hype, this car is for real. You don't need 650hp in the zl1. You get the zl1 but naturally aspirated 450hp. What else do you want!

I drove it and I agree that it's the best for $45k but it's not "And better than a lot of other 100k plus cars. ". I bought a $55k 2017 BASE Corvette and it's way better than the Camaro in terms of agility and handling.
Well, after 6 months of research I agree! I started off wanting a Mustang GT but after seeing and reading all the reviews and comparisons I bought a new 1LE the day my color hit my local dealership. I only have 2k on the odo but this car is amazing! Hands down best sports car under 50k...heck, even more in most cases lol

Adam Cifonelli if you go look for a GT350 almost all of them are spect out at $60,000 and then they at least want 5000 over for them 49 is base none of the dealers order them at base price. thanks for the comment
Adam Cifonelli they're still have a mark up here where I live. and I never said it was faster than the GT350 but it is a better value.
LJ & Son's VLOGS my question to you is how are the blind spots? Are they bad and if they are did you get used to them? Thinking about test driving/renting an SS for a week out in Cali....trying to choose between that or a C7 Z06 ......
I'd like to see a GT350 with no mark up. 1LE is a far better value and if you put the GT350 against the ZL1, it's real rival, the GT350 gets embarrassed.
I love my 17 SS 1LE. Got mine used with 4K miles on it and a full warranty for 34,500. Nothing else in the price range that can play with the super cars at the race track!

you are absolutely correct about everything you say about this amazing machine. I test drove from San Francisco to San Diego and back OMG the Camaro is pure joy, super fast,agile,superior suspension syatem,superb breaks grip on the corners like Ferrari. I driven the big V8 engine of the mustang and challenger and there is no competition compared to camaro ss you feel that immediately!

I have mustang 2014 and before I always been german car owner just like yourself but the Camaro is so amazing that I can't remember if I have enjoyed and fell in love in car like that before! 36k starting price for 1ss is insane this car in Europe and Russia goes from 80-110k and I'm talking about the 455hp engine not the 650 one insane! Brandon Pierce American cars are an amazing top notch machines especially the last 5 years thr upgrade is more then impressive! I think german cars are very good,classy no doubt but they are also very overpriced and OVERRATED I have driven a lots of German nice,fast cars and I don't get nothing of that amazing feel as it's if compared to driving the absolutely champion the Camaro Super Sport!

It's nice to see a good Euro convert. The 1LE SS is a spectacular car that I hope to own in the next few years. There is just nothing (Corvette and GT350 aside) that comes close to its performance for less than double the price.
Review after review I watch I hear the same thing about this car. Not one person has a bad thing to say about the 1LE. Randy Pobst absolutely loved the car on track during his hot lap.
This car will be talked about for years. In the same way people talked about the c5 z06 being the best bang for your buck! Great review man

One of the best 1LE reviews Brandon! It speaks volumes that you're a M2 and 911 owner and still love the Camaro SS 1LE. I too have been afflicted with GCSS (German Car Snobbery Syndrome) but the 1LE is calling me! I've resisted a test drive but not sure how long I can hold out!

You are funny. I feel the same way about my 2017 1LE. It is as good as you say. I bought one never having driven a Camaro. There is no better value on the market, hands down. I think what I love about it the most is that it is a no BS performer. It has everything that you need for performance on the track and nothing that you don't. Love it. The only drawback is that the sticky tires pick up the stones! Be sure to get some paint protective film.

My local dealer has a new ss 1le for $39k. $6000 under sticker price. Kinda hard to beat that.

Awesome video! I own a 2017 Mustang GT with performance package for canyon driving fun here in the Lake Tahoe area. As everyone knows, the Mustang GT is not up to the Camaro's level of performance, but I'm an old guy and enjoy it nevertheless. Drive safe!

I have this car in Hyperblue metallic I don't have the rear rock guards did they come w it or added at dealer? It is the most awesome car I've had in a while and I'm a lifelong Ford Mustang guy actually traded a 15 GT PP and this car blows that one away

6th gen camaro > s550 mustang...ford needs to up the 5.0 to 5.8
Clinically Insane not sure about that the family of engines are different animals the coyote is a high revving DOHC motor with different characteristics even if the displacement was increased through porting heads the behavior would be the same and the output may reach 475 from ford ... maybe ... but the LT1 is just strong in a way that is very confident and capable and is balanced in the 1LE which to me is it's own car miles and miles ahead of an SS or 2SS
I REALLY CAN NOT OVERSTATE how much I really dislike the black hood on all the 1 le cars . something about the shape of the hood where it meets the front clip.. the rounded part... that makes it especially distateful for me. The car is great and i believe you are correct in regards to performance and value but I could not abide the hood. Your probably going to spend a lot on sticky rubber with fast tread wear which is a decent part of why the car handles well and hooks decently.

I owned (5) 4th generation cars and most recently a 2015 SS 1LE and now 2018 SS 1LE. What he says is all true. Car is unreal. What’s crazy is that dealers are selling thousands off sticker. Anyone on the fence..Do it!!!
Hmm. For $45k maybe Miata but that’s kind of apple vs orange. This is my favorite four seater right now. Great review.

wish it came with the heated/ cooled seats, blind spot monitoring and the rear sensors.. the ZL1 comes with all those comforts.
Cali Made yeah that would be cool. I feel like it has everything you need to have fun though and nothing that you don't. and it's a good price. I can forgive those things it's a fun drivers car good enough for me.👍

Ran my new one 2017 SS 1LE at SCCA PDX at Daytona SCCA club course It definitely is great It is track ready as is,absolutely no prep needed-just go to track-everything stayed cool Big brakes never faded,shifts great, corner weights on the scales as good as many racecars. really puts down power, great lo end torque,,corners,downshifts,great brakes,handles big bump on track and gator curbing Rev matching feature also works really well. I haven't looked at the factory Data recorder video of the day yet. Downside---- I wish it came with seats with slots that could be compatible with 6 point harness like the recaros ford uses for track junkies The trunk opening could be larger. Drives well on both track and street. I am not sure the GT350 including the GT350R is better at all and how well it actually holds up under track demanding conditions. Anyway I was surprised how quick and friendly it is without any mods or prep, probably need to spend almost twice as much $$$$$ to improve on this-great value definitely.

Just located a ZL1 about 70 miles from me and contacted the dealer immediately. Heading there this morning, and if all goes according to plan - driving her home! It will be a diversion from my usual content, but I think I might have to do a video or two of it.

Good review. Been thinking about trading in my 5th gen for this 1LE or a 2SS. Wish the 1LE was available in the 2SS, but it's not. The interior seems better than the 5th gen, quality wise. But I tell ya those Recaro seats look nothing like Recaros. The previous Recaro design was way better. Heck, even the ones in the Mustang are better.

bigmixx I couldn't agree more. I ordered my 1LE a few weeks ago. It was a tough decision between the 1LE and a 2SS. I think I'm going to like the 1LE more, but I still wish it came with the 2SS trim.
Jason Paspalis yeah man. It's the only reason I haven't gotten one yet. I can't make up my mind LOL! A 1LE with heated/ventilated seats, blind spot monitor, & dual zone climate would be perfect for me.
And in convertible too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There isn't much the 1LE doesn't come with.
The seats are recaro so that rules out the heat/vent seats, and IMO dual zone is kind of a gimmick. Def not worth the extra money it would cost IMO.
All I want from the 2ss is the HUD. I saw it on the 1le with it at the dealer I may go pick it up
I'm a Ford fan and always will be, but after being in a Dodge and Corvette.... The aftermarket support and pricing as a whole ( Interior/Exterior/Performance) just falls into the mustangs favor.
Yet, all of their cars from each make always brings a smile to my face. For me the Mustang was the Best 40,000.... but that's my opinion.... Grab what you like and be happy, but I have to say.... If you're spending this much money on a Generic sports/performance car ( Challenger, Corvette, Mustang, Charger, Camaro...) and not putting it through it's paces on a regular.... that's a damn shame

Hi Brandon. I've got a S550 GT w/performance pack. I rented a boxster s for 3 days while on holiday and fell in love with how FUN it was to drive. Despite it being down on power. Do you think the 1le is just as fun to drive? At low speeds as well as fast speeds? Or do you think the Cayman/boxster is more fun in everyday situations?

I'm very interested to see how the 2018 Mustang GT with the MagneRide (same as GT350) suspension/performance package compares, especially since they will be upping power to ~455hp for the 5.0 with new direct+port injection and 12.0:1 compression. Expect the price to be similar for a GT Premium with the MagneRide package (comparable to 1LE).

You forgot to mention and use the no lift shift feature unless I some how missed it
love that car! and I have never had an American car.i'm really considering buying one. I was thinking this or the vette or the jaguar ftype R which I absolutely love I think the Ftype r is one of the most beautiful sports coupe ever made. only thing i'm not loving in the 1le is that rear end, I think they could do a better job making it look more aggressive like the front end which I really like. a little nicer interior materials would be really nice too, but one thing I wish it had was ventilated seats because where I live is really hot and seat ventilation is a very good option to have.
+mountain tiger those are all good cars but I think for the money I definitely would take the Camaro. it drives better than some hundred-thousand-dollar cars for 45 gram. which is why I love it. there's a lot of nice cars but this is one you can live with every day and it doesn't break your bank.

I believe the transmission is a Tremec TR6060, same model from Shelby GT500, Dodge Viper and the 5th gen Camaro.

Hey man fun to watch, I had an M2 on order but cancelled the order now I get my 1LE in a month. How do you compare the 2 given you own an M2?
+Ryan Leclair thanks for the comment. man that's a tough question. the answer is they're both really good cars. I've had the opportunity to have a lot of very high performance cars. I've come to the conclusion that I want the funnest car to drive not necessarily the fastest car. The M2 is precise predictable small little hot rod Coupe with a lot of Technology and I love it. The Camaro feels like you took it to one of the most well-known race shops in the world and they set it up perfect for you to drive fast. I think GM figured out the magic formula with the 1LE pack. I feel really connected to the Camaro it's just so enjoyable to drive and it just does exactly what you want it to. and makes the right sounds it looks good and it feels good. As hard as this is to say because the 1LE is $45,000 I would probably take the Camaro it's just so fun to drive.👍
thanks for the reply, I have always been a BMW guy and I hope I made the right decision, I love everything about the M2 but thought it was time to try a naturally aspirated V8, I don't think you can go wrong with either. I know the BMW name has more prestige but in the end I feel like the Camaro has it all for quite a bit less $. worst case I drive it for a year or 2 and grab an M2 when they put the M4 engine in it

How is the 1SS 1LE as a daily driver? Is the front splitter too low to the ground? Is it difficult to get in and out of a driveway?
Oren L thanks for the comment. I only had the car for like 2 weeks I buy and sell cars that's my job. but I loved driving the car and I feel like it'd be a great daily driver. it was good on dips and easy to back in and out

wait till you have to replace those tires. I wonder how the suede is going to hold up and clean. I was going to get the ZL1 but got a 2016 LTZ SUBURBAN to replace my old one for now, since I have a 600hp 99 SS, BUT I have been considering this car with a procharger
+brianallen0826 yep the tires are expensive but man do they grip good I guess you get what you pay for. as far as the power even without a blower I feel like it was very fast. thanks for the comment.👍
Great video. Just a small tip: your video sometimes makes me dizzy/sick. Maybe turn a bit more slowly next time, especially when you are focusing on close objects (like the interior).

Brandon Pierce I just test drove the ss 1le today, it's amazing! definitely gonna get it when my current lease ends! My close friend also got an Me and I drove it. 1LE's suspension is way more comfortable than M2's! GM really put efforts on the MRC.
Hey now you can get a 2SS 1LE... With all that the only thing you're missing is a supercharger...
The 2ss 1le would be an awesome Camaro. if you want to supercharged you just got to go to the ZL1.😎👍
I own a 2019 2SS 1LE. It’s still quite an amazing car.
I owned a 2015 Corvette for 3 weeks. The GM torque management system ruined the throttle response for me (the throttle response is fine if you mash the throttle but it is not responsive at partial throttle). Can you compare the C7's throttle response to this car's?
+Lava Peter thanks for the comment.👍 I have not driven the 2015 Corvette but the 2017 1Le felt awesome. I did not notice any problems with the throttle. It had great linear power and was just fun to drive.
guess I will have to see for myself..funny enough the M2 and GT350 are other cars I consider replacing my cayman with so I look forward to your comparison of the 2
