Emerald Ridge aka Sunrise Wildland Fire Puyallup WA

August 8, 2021. The conflagration started Sunday evening with a smoke investigation call in the area of Emerald Ridge High School. Unsuccessful attempts to find access in the area including from the OK Hwy allowed the blaze to grow. Several agencies are assisting Central Pierce Fire and Rescue. Heavy equipment is being brought in so a road can be cut to get to the fire. It will continue to grow overnight.
