One of the largest state parks in the United States, Custer State Park has multiple campgrounds that are tent and RV friendly. It's a great basecamp area for exploring Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Keystone and all the fun and interesting places in South Dakota's Black Hills.

The Honeymoon suite is such a nice place, trees woods, not a cleared lot. True camping. Looks like Star gives the paw of approval! The other sites seem well spaced too.
Sylvan lake is amazing with the rocks coming out of the water like that. My younger days I'd be diving off 'em.

Love the History lessons you share on these videos just like in Tx State parks! Good for All who watch as our history is being erased! Love you videos especially with your Mother along! Precious and Priceless moments with her!! Try a Bison Steak so lean and Yummy if made right. We had a great steak up there but I can't remember the name of the restaurant. Try and find one and have one. Loved her little dance! I had to get a portable waste tank to be able to dump as the place I am parked at are water and electricity with a single dump on site, rather than moving my rig I decided to get the portable tank and use my jeep while I am here.

Good Morning Y'all ☕️! Really impressed with Custer SP and all they've done to it over the years. The last time I was there was in the late 80's just after they had a huge forest fire. I remember some of the roads and areas of the park were closed off, so its nice to see her back to all her glory! After watching your trip, I think its way past time for another visit. I would really like to re-visit the Badlands and Crazy Horse too just to see all the updates since the last time we were there. 🏞 Gotta hand it to Grammy Kay tackling that hike like a champ👍🏼 especially the rugged rocky areas. Great trip. Did this RV trip with family and my 82 year old mother a couple of years ago. It was fantastic. We loved the entire area. But, didnt do the hike around the lake.....guess we gotta go back. ;)

If you ever get to be there the last week of September for the Buffalo Round Up is fantastic to see and feel the ground rumble under you feet when they bring them over and down the hill. This was our very favorite state park got married there on horseback in the area of Blue Bell Stable n dinner T the restaurant and of course Buffalo for dinner delish!

Love it in South Dakota we go every other year we stay in hill city did you see the donkeys in Custer st park they were my granddaughters favorites

I believe Custer State Park has 9 campgrounds and 3-4 can handle big rigs. They claim more bison per sq. mile than even Yellowstone but there is more that just bison. I looked at buying a campground in Custer. Lots of great hiking and sightseeing in Custer SP.

Hi Debra! We bought it on Amazon: amzn.to/2luE4SB . This is the 2nd one we've owned. (the first was on our last motorhome) It is extremely durable and holds up well to being on the slide. We think it's a fun way to track our travels. They also have one for Canada that fits above it.
I was wondering about the maps also. When we get in the road I thought it would be cool to give one to the grandkids and send them postcards that show where we are and they could follow us on their own map.

Yes it is Sheryl! We didn’t look at the time, but I think it was somewhere around 1.5 - 2 hours.
Another question, when ya'll were parked under the pine trees, did you have any problems with the pine sap getting on your rig? thank you.
Great question. No, we had no issue with pine sap.
Did you finish the Second level RV inspection class, if so are you planning on doing it as a business?
Hi Brent! Yes, we completed Registered Technician and Level 2 Inspector training. We’re still deciding how we are going to use it.
How long did it take to hike around the lake?
That's a great question, Lina. We didn't pay attention to the time. I'd guess it was somewhere between 1.5 and 2 hours.
