My grandparents lived in Clay county most of their lives, and I never heard this. They lived off Route 11 between Manchester and Oneida....it can be a spooky looking place, especially in winter...I heard a lot of ghost stories, but the Witch Tree is new to me.

I really enjoy your channel. My mother was a true coal miner’s daughter from Harlan County. She used to tell these legends and other stories from her youth.

Haha. I’ve never heard of this and I’ve been in Clay County most of my life. The tree didn’t have special powers either. Power only comes from one place. That’s from above.

Manchester is the county seat of Clay County. That’s where the story is based.

From my understanding it was near Collins Fork but the tree has been gone for about 50 years
