    A few years ago I quit my job of being a dealership mechanic at Honda and went into a position that required me to work on small engines and a whole lot of janitorial machines. I work on just about anything. Watching your videos helped me out so much because of the many different golf carts we have coming in. I wanna thank you so much for helping me out! You also inspired me to start my own channel on the different machines I fix! Thanks a ton!!!

    Hi Kev.... I am Darrell from Cambridge UK. I have been a subscriber to your videos for years. I love your tutorials on how to repair the golf carts/buggies (in the UK we call them buggies). I love your honesty when you cock up when doing a repair 😁. Most importantly is you always show the end result of a perfect repair. Thanks mate keep the videos comming ..... Darrell...

    Hey Kevin good to hear from you again it's been awhile! We have 5 yamaha drives at our course, that wire fails alot! The wire is constantly moving due to the motor placement. Poor design in my opinion. On average 2 fail a year. Using a longer wire helps reduce the movement somewhat, but it will fail again. Thanks for the video! I'm sure it will help alot who don't know this problem!

      This is actually the first one that I've had come in with this issue. I work on a lot of Drives (routine service mostly). I usually see this on lifted carts, not stock ones.

    Honestly is the key. Thank you I found it very interesting and helpful.

    I personally like to use a old school bulb style test light to test solenoids because ive seen many times a multimeter give false positive readings due to no amp load.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  Před rokem

      I use both, but my go-to is a quality multi-meter. Test lights can't show voltage drop.

    I have a Yamaha drive not sure the year because it has a custom paint job, and rear seat with lights, otherwise stock. When in neutral if you put the petal in one spot with the key on it will not stop surging, I know that it’s been 5+ years sense it’s been serviced at all besides airing up the tires, it’s very dusty to the point that it should have been done some time ago. I think that the clutch is bad and needs a belt but not sure if the carb is making it surge or the clutch. Thanks!

    Hi Kevin,
    I have a 2001 club car ds that has been experiencing cut off during driving (no crank or start) for a little over a year now. A month or so ago it completely stopped and will no longer respond.
    I started by replacing the microswitches which did not help, then moved to the solenoid. I replaced it and the cart sounded great, I pulled it out of the garage in reverse and drove it for a minute or two then stopped it and put it in drive. When I did this, the cart would no longer crank or start. I let it sit for a week and then tried it again. I put it in service mode and neutral and it sounded great yesterday. But then I put it in drive and it no longer responded. When I put it back into service mode the solenoid now makes a loud vibration noise when I press the gas, almost like a growling and nothing responds Today I took the starter generator out and cleaned/ checked it. The brushes looked good but inside the bell there was a lot of dust and carbon. I cleaned it up, put it back in and wired it and still am getting nothing but a solenoid growl. Voltages up the the starter generator all seem to be normal, so I am at a loss going further. Any tips or suggestions

    Lucky for the customer it didn't end up going big bucks. Kevin, do you have a vendor or brand you prefer for an EZGO starter generator. I did a rush repair for a friend that was in a hurry and went with an Amazon starter. Well, as usual it turned out to be junk, low output 12.4v in 2 months. It won't keep the battery charged. Thanks.

    I have a Yamaha g22 that i have replaced five starter generators on in the last few years. I've replaced the petal switch and voltage regulator. When running, the system charges the battery like it should. I'm lost as to what could be the issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Love the content!

    I would almost guarantee that the troubleshooting fault tree does not include a broken terminal. The heat shrink should help with water intrusion and corrosion.

    Kevin, I recently purchased a Yamaha g29/drive, gas powered. I don’t know the year because of the custom paint job. When I got it it needed a oil change and filter cleanings, but I thought it smelled really strong of fuel, and after riding for about 40 minutes then park it, when I would go to ride it 30 minutes later it would be chokeing on to much fuel! So I cleaned the carb when I had the air box of I saw that the fan cover was filled with a rodents home, probably why it would get so hot, I greased the cluch, I know it needs one, and a belt. And a battery. But my question is : why is my check engine light on?? It has the proper oil level! And it’s only on when the petal is being pushed down. Why is that so? Nervous to ride it with it on. I googled the symptoms but couldn’t find anything so I figured I would ask you! Please help.

    Hi Kev. I’m Robert from Northern Ireland. I love your videos. Can you tell me how to adjust a Yamaha carburettor float level ! my float is completely plastic no metal tag that you can push up or down. My float is low and I think it should be level when held upside down !

    Kevin, completely off subject. I completely lost headlights last night on my Yamaha G19 gas. I wanted check the headlight fuse but have no idea where the panel is. Ive looked all over!

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  Před 11 měsíci

      Typically, the lighting circuit is just a seperate system entirely. The fuse should be, depending on the brand of light kit, by the battery. Its possible the head light switch is bad too.
