About to take on the seat being restored on a friend's club car, it's in absolutely abysmal shape currently, just followed your videos on how to repair an maintain these, so far I followed along correctly, thank you.

I see you have a crack starting in the breather hose like most of em. Mine cracked on both ends, threw em in the garbage & put on 3/8 fuel line & Z-ties.

My Yamaha g1 starts fast cold then when it’s warm it will be slow to start and runs bad and stalls. When it starts it takes a few seconds to get speed going again etc. Anyone know what I can do to fix this issue? Hope this makes sense. Also it has a new carb

How do I know which direction my engine runs. New starter generator says clockwise SE where do I put the wires.

Where did you replace the regulator

With all your complaining about the ezgo cart ,you don't have to pull the motor or drill holes or even remove the filter to get to the coil,ezgo made the cover plastic ,so it bends ,all you have to do is take off carb ,undo the cover bolts at the top remove the large carb linkage cover bolt ,bend the cover back ,and now you have plenty of room to get to coil. Any mechanic knows that you install the coil over the magnet . And you did not think you installed the coil over the magnet ,as you stated you wanted the magnet away from the coil . But at least you admitted you made a mistake , a little tip for you ... Maybe think before you speak or complain ,it may make you look like an actual mechanic. .

Kevin, it's good to connect with you again as when my computer crashed I lost all my u-tube subscriptions. I was wondering if you could help me out with this problem with my 97 club car ds. The only thing I did with the motor was to change oil and filter and after driving for about 20 games the oil light came on and it was down to the add mark.The oil is pooling up on the side of filler tube so with your knowledge of these engines where could the oil be leaking on that side of engine. I go for back surgery tomorrow so golfing is out of picture but I should be able to work on cart for short periods of time. thank in advance

So I have a 1990 ezgo marathon I bought that sat out in a field for years. I got it to fire if I put fuel in the cylinder but it won’t pull anything from the carb. I cleaned the carb out and filled it up manually but my question is, do I need a fuel pump hooked up? Shouldn’t it still pull fuel out of the carb through the vacuum?

I know I am way late to the party but I spent a lot of time maintaining industrial batteries. That battery is dirty. Dirt will conduct electricity and discharge the battery. Wipe the battery off with some demin water! It will help and make it look a lot better.

Been watching lots of your videos. I recently just purchased a 1996 Yamaha G14. Sat for 8 years but running when was parked. I drained the fuel, installed new fuel lines, fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plug, and cleaned the carb. I have the air filter out and it’s turning over but won’t start. spark plug shows spark and fuel lines are clear so i can see it’s feeding fuel to the carb. any idea what this could be? thanks

Kevin, I had the engine rebuilt on my 2002 EZ-GO TXT and the engine is like new. No issues there. Also has a new OEM carb. Problem is when accelerating, it is extremely sluggish under load. When it’s on jack stands the engine revs beautifully but as soon as it’s on the ground under load it bogs down. Seems like a drive train issue. Any thoughts on what I could try? Clutch maybe? Tom

I have a few suggestions as far as reducing battery cost, and getting better quality battery terminals. We use a supply house in my area that uses FVP batteries and they are made by the same supplier as the Exide you are using, with an account they are about 60$. Napa has a ton of battery terminal selection, for how you use them there is a marine style (wingnut style) or military style that would be super convenient

Good vid man. Just got a 1997 EzGo 295. Compression is 160 158. Slowly checking everything out to be sure of it's reliability. Anything crucial I should check on a used cart other than the engine? Thanks. Oh just had a thought. Has anyone ever milled the head to get a higher compression ? Like 180 psi. I think that would be around 9:1

confused....no check and adjustment of brake pedal (and brake light switch) and throttle pedal.....When I got mine the brake and throttle pedals were a mess

Thanks Kevin great video !! I have the same problem now with my 99DS FE290-AS17 engine. Found gas in the oil dipstick that splashed out when removed. I order new fuel pump and carburetor from amazon ! Looks like from your video i could pull everything and give it a good cleaning with oil and fuel filter change ? Did you determine that the cause was from the debris in the tank ? Was the float okay ?

I have a 2000 TXT that once you flip the switch tow Maintenace to run it won't stop beeping, any suggestions?

I have a 2010 Electric RXV. Occasionally I have a problem getting my cart to go especially forward. If I turn the key right away to F it will not go. If I turn the key back off, turn the key to R, hear a click and then turn it to F, sometimes it will go. But sometimes, I have to keep repeating doing that, or sometimes if I turn to R, let it click, back up a little bit, then switch to F it will go forward most of the time. Then problem is if I park to close to something or someone pulls in close to me, and I don't have room to back up. I also notice that when I have this problem, and have to switch the key back and forth it drains the battery down faster even if I don't move. Thanks

OK you shamed me into looking at my battery system! I know the battery is old and the terminals need replacing so that is my next little cart project.

In my Yamaha 2018 gas, (it was the last carb engine used) it seems to run rich. Rebuilt the carb two years ago. Followed your instructions and it runs great but it has the smell of unburnt fuel. Choke seems to work. Ideas?

This might be our problem as well 2009 EZGO RXV with 48v Lithium, We were riding around full speed yesterday and all of a sudden it started to slow down and we could smell what we thought was burning wire/electrical. we stopped lifted the seat and I checked all the wires, nothing was hot to the touch and the small was not coming from directly under the seat, I also checked the ignition key and it was all good. the more I think about it and watched this video, I think I fried my E-Brake.

Could a stop switch cause the starter generator to barley turn? I have a new starter generator and voltage regulator and the other day it wouldn't start. The starter generator barely moves new battery last year and it has plenty of voltage. Love your videos

What are the conditions necessary to get it to energize? key on? Brake pedal? accelerator pedal on?

I play at a course that has recently purchased all new EZGO golf carts with the electronic automatic brake. And I'm very impressed how easily it works. With this new EZGO golf cart you're braking just to slow down and you don't have to lock the brakes on a hill becuz it locks the brakes automatically. It's a joy to ride goes over cart paths that have been invaded by large rooted trees and handles holes in the course very well. And I own a 1990 EZGO electric Marathon that I'll be changing the brakes on soon so thanks for putting this up!
