To prevent LED strips failure just lower backlight setting brightness to 50% or lower.
Hey I have a question. I have a led samsung. It just stopped working. Sound is there and I flashlight tested and see stuff there. So the back lights arent working. Is it safe to say I need to replace the LEDs? Where can I find the LEDs the model takes?

HI I have a lg 55 inch tv and when I power it on the sound works but the image flashes. It will be dark then u can see a flash of the image then dark again, it repeats this process. When you can see the image it is clear and sharp any ideas of what my issues is.

Your repair vids are my favorite. My respect for you has grown, knowing you're confident enough, to not HIDE, that even pros don't always have things go ... perfectly.
R.P. Rosen you said it well. Yes, that's so nice of him indeed. Good luck.
you are a star! you have the gutts to post the entire video without editing them.. thumbs up for you!👍👍👍👍
This is the best tv repair tutorial on CZcams, thank you for these repair clips👍👍👍
Hey i just wanted to say thank you, i dont have the same model tv but this video helped me diagnose the issues i was having! so excited to get this fix done, its a 50in highsense smart tv my sister gave me for free so a 50-60 dollar fix is a sweet deal! Again thanks so much!
This is pretty much one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. I want to repair TV's now. Am I crazy??
Anarchy 2021 very well said! Thanks 😊
tampatech, love the vids! you've stretched my know how in electronics and also teaching. you got a gift brotha! I have one issue tho. I have a kicker zx750.1 mono amp. I have the circuit board exposed for show purposes. I usually have a custom cover but had it off at the time of this incident. I had a lot of water fill up the amp but it's suspended in air so it was draining instantly somewhat. I caught the problem and got it out immediately. the power was not on nor was the vehicle. I have 2 500k power caps right by the amps also. they got wet, but seem unscathed. I immediately took the amps out and blew them out with the air hose. then disassembled them to further dry and inspect. I did the big one first cause it's more valuable. a kicker 700.4. got it reinstalled and works fine. now I did the 750 the next day. got it in and it lights up and produces audio but a green little capacitor on the board buzzes. it's almost a wave effect. slowly gets higher pitched and stops. then restarts. if I grab the amp and twist hard I can make it stop. once I let go it starts up. I've taken it apart now and touched areas that looked suspect with a soldering iron 5x. even replaced the green capacitor which is a 2a102j. I'm stuck and tired. any direction would be much appreciated.
Great video. I have an lg tv and I hope it never quits but if it does I will try and fix it because it ain't no good the way it is and if I screw it up I was going to throw it away anyway👍
Fantastic tutorial. Very interesting and very well explained.
Thank you so much.👍👍
He knows the average person hasn't a clue
Fantastic tutorial. Very interesting and very well explained. Thanks
You seem surprised that it actually worked after you repaired it. Great video by the way. I shared it with my friends kids hopefully they find it really cool to fix things that are broken. Hope to inspire them to set up a small repair shop.
Thanks - particularly for including the bloopers!
Good video; but also liked the 'Well That Happened' incident with the panel (and you took it well). Being a tech/engineer in a few fields, WTH had us amazed and humored many times.

Keep posting your repairs on CZcams
Thanks for vid Tampa! Couldn't help notice number of LG sets that seem to have backlight issues! Maybe LG ought to up there QA processes in that area a bit!
Thank you so much brosef. Kind of you. Good luck there and cheers! 👍😊
pleased to be in this class today . many thanks .
Neat video. Nice to know what, exactly, is wrong with my TV. Unfortunately, I lack confidence in my ability to safely disassemble and reassemble my TV :P
Great video, and thank you for not editing out the screen drop! We learn from our mistakes, and hopefully from others as well. 😊👍🏻 Oh I was corrected by a grammar nazi years ago, the "L" in solder is silent (WTH?)☺
Thanks for that! I have just dismantled a Philips TV, following your instructions. Not sure if my client will invest in the led strips... I used a 24VDC supply for checking the leds, soldering the wires on the test points of each strip.
You are an expert in this field...I like you so much...!!! 👍
Thank You so much for posting this , Big Help!!!
I've never seen inside a LED TV screen before. It was very interesting to watch your video. It was good to see that it worked after the suction holder let you down!

Hi Paul: To avoid accidental fall of the screen glass, is it possible to work on the TV with the glass side on the table and lift the metal back side up (turn 180 degree) for repair?
Great info.

How do i know what kind of led to buy' theres number of led types 6 volt 3 volr 280 m and moreThanks
Hi I just found ur channel bc I always see you commenting on every video I see lol
Hello Tampatec, I've watched some of you vids a year ago, just noticed you had so many and your own channel. You're such a help to all of us diy folks. I have a Sceptre E55 and it powers on and I can see "select input" image on screen ONLY with flashlight and dark room. In this video, you state that if image shows with flashlight that the tcon board is good. When testing the voltage on power board to LED wires, no volts in DC mode, but 3.2v & 3.5v in AC mode (two connectors going to LEDs. What do I check next? Some other vids mention backlight inverter.
I get so tired of all these diy people just replacing the whole boards. I love it when someone actually knows, and can demonstrate the board components, where they are, and even include a good link to find them.

Great job
Nice !!!!. Thank you.
superb vlog !!
Hey Tampatec, I'm not sure if you provide TV repair advice these days, especially considering you've already provided so much great content over the years - which allows us to repair our TVs ourselves, however, I have a question regarding something I don't exactly believe you've covered before.
Here goes, hopefully you can give me some advice or a little guidance. You're always so successful with TV repairs, so maybe you can help me out. Thanks in advance.
I picked up at 65" Curved Samsung SUHD Tv (UN65JS9000F) and what's interesting about this is that the LEDs (edge lit btw) are clearly turned on and are visible from the back of the TV, but from the front the display is super dark and hardly visible. The darkest parts of the picture are just black, and the lightest portions are hardly visible. I've removed the panel so I can see the LEDS. (Which btw the previous owners obviously had this thing at full brightness 24/7) Because I even found some brittleness/slight burn marks on one of the (filter things?) One of the ones that sit behind the glass panel, but in front of the LEDs.
The display shows some backlights through the display on the VERY edges, and ever so slightly on the sides of the TV, however closer to the middle is DARK dark dark!! Any thoughts? Again, LEDs appear to be BRIGHT and working perfectly when I remove the panel and all of the filters/plastic behind it, but when those things are on, the panel is really dark as if there aren't any lights at all (except for the edges and corners, ever so slightly) Also, sound and picture do technically work. The picture is dark, but things are visible ever so slightly even without the use of a flashlight (or flashlight test)
This could be an interesting repair, but who knows. Let me know what you think. It's like the brightness isn't powerdul enough to make the whole display come to life, or the LEDs light isn't being distributed properly. Maybe due to the brittleness found on the filter thing behind the glass? Who knows. Thanks again so much btw! God bless.
Great video
Hi Paul
Thank you for the informative videos..
I have an LG UF84.. the standby red led just blinks but doesn't go into start mode. Appreciate your valuable advice on what could the most likely problem be
Thanks
good work 73
Amazing share cheers, Subscribed
Thank you that was way cool! I was a little worried when the screen fell but alls well
David Smith I'm shocked LCD didn't crack.
It would make a lot more sense replacing all of the strips and not just the bad LED's. Especially going through all that trouble breaking the tv down to repair it.
To prevent this repair from happening to your LED TV just set your brightness and backlight settings to 50%. If you max out your backlight settings what happens is the LEDs on the LED strip get brittle and crack from the heat.

Tampatec are the led available for seiki se50fy10. I've tried different boards and it does the same. I see no lighting in the dark by flashlights.
I don't trust those suction cup thingies. I prefer to use my hands.

My daughter hit my screen but it not crack on outside it looks like a crack on inside like half of the picture shows and it looks like spider crack inside. Does that mean lcd or is the tv done for? Its a 42 inch sanyo plasm
Is a LCD TV more reliable than a LED one?
Wow! That looks really hard for the average person to try to do!? I've trashed about three t.v's because of that same problem 😕
i'm a bench tech at work (yes, we still exist. Our company has been selling stuff since the 60s that still needs SOMEONE to repair it).
After fixing a couple LED TVs, the word got out and soon i was inundated with people's bad TVs.
Wa-a-a-ay too many to take on in my spare time, and you have to learn how to say "NO!" quickly and firmly.
Very good video
Oh yea helpful. Thank u bro
Good job.
ITS BETTER TO PUT LED,INSTED OF WHOLE STRIP,WELL EXPLAINED!
Man you're good, you explain in details everything!
Exellent video...Got an advice...put some moisture on suction caps, that is insurance for caps not to release display...
Awesome video
Super video thanku sir
U r really crazy, i never think of it. Great Job.
I have a tv that's having a similar issue. I heard you mention a type of module since i can see the back light but no picture. Do you have any video related to that issue
Great video. I have a LG 55ln5600, on power up screen flashes them black. Measured 180v going to led strips then voltage goes down to a steady 84v. Bad led strips?
Thank you fo this video. If I may ask, is it true that once a diode is blown on the powerstage, the entire powerstage is damaged? Can't the component on the power stage be replaced, if the need arises?
First of all great content. I have a 65UH5500 (2016). When I power up the TV the screen lights up then goes dark and the red light (power button) flashes 3 times. One long flash and the two shorter ones. I checked the capacitors and they do not show any signs of damage. In addition I could not see any images on the screen when I used a flash light on it in a dark room. However I will say there was a slight odour from the Tcom board area. Any suggestions of what to check next. Once again great channel with very useful tips and information.thanks
Hey Tampatec. First im a new subscriber/follower and must say I love your videos. I have a TCL Roku 55 inch Tv that is dark on one side only. Been looking around for similar issues but they all end up just smacking the screen (which doesn't work for me) any ideas on trouble shooting the issue? Thanks again
Great 👍 man
Hey friend I just have one question. Is this repair basically the same on an RCA lc 40 fhd41? I really do appreciate your videos, thanks. BA Powell Wadesboro NC
G'day. Have you any experience with or videos of Panasonic LED tv repair. I have an EX780 for Australian 240v market with a black screen problem. Thanks, Dave.
