"Having four archers is significantly better than having two archers surrounding a city"
*SurprisedPikachuFace*
That also stood out as weird. I think what he meant is that, given the way a city heals (if it's not under siege), the difference between two and four units is more than double the damage per turn.
*SurprisedPachacutiFace*
Now here you've got a textbook case of the number four being bigger than the number two...
After watching as many hours of you playing Civ, as I have played Civ myself, I finally won my first game on deity last night ❤🎉
“I want the city to be in range for my- oops, it was” sorry all the civilians that were murdered that was an oopsie
It wasn't war crime if there wasn't any soldiers there
Potato: Now I am become chop, the destroyer of woods.
Choppenheimer
"This is gonna be a Tourism game isn't it?"
Everybody needs to come see this amazing start location.
I keep getting spanish language ads on this channel...apparently youtube doesnt know what the hell kida potato accent that is either
Spudanglish.
Duh.
I only get Spanish ads on my iPad. My android phone and pc never get them.
dude I thought that only happened to me 😂 I was mildly offended like "ok I know I'm Latino but damn my Spanish isn't even good enough to completely understand the dialect these ads are using" 😂
@BigBruddaX no I live in a freestanding home and it's only this channel
@@emanuelmartinez7267 lmao!
I really respect that you don’t do many modded playthroughs (non UI mods that is) it makes your content more relatable to the average player
I'm kinda surprised that he don't use CQUI at the very least, that spacing make it really tiring to scroll to the bottom
@@skyfeelan I have no idea what CQUI is
@@l0kpcr397 it's a UI mod
@@skyfeelan I gathered that with the UI part but have no clue what the CQ could stand for in this context
@@l0kpcr397 Community Quick User Interface, it's just the mod name, unimportant really
My preferred modpack to play with, just for the fact that it's no longer a auto chop every forest tile you see.
I've been playing with JNR's Urban Complexity for a long time now, this mod series and City Lights significantly improve re-playability for me. Some district's UC mods are better than others, I especially like the industry and commerce mods. The other JNR mod I'd highly recommend is the wetlands mod :) 6T is a fun change of pace too (though I prefer the regular tech/civic trees)
Did City Lights ever get fixed to be compatible with other mods? I stopped using City Lights like a year ago because it seems like the creator is afk and there are too many inconsistencies with stuff from other mods.
I've been playing with some of the same for a year or so too. It really changes how you play. Glad potato is finding it now!
Civilizations Expanded and Terra Mirabilas mods have made me actually enjoy replayability playing random with some fun game changing buffs, no longer getting super weak civs and restarting.
When i get a city like this i love burning it to the ground(soothsayer) and not chopping rainforest. Chicken pizza go!
@@shevek5934 I can't make up my mind on city lights and where to put what districts, for your information, I'm a Japan player, so district adjacency is secondhand nature to me.
moving liang away from every city youre about to make builders in must be some big brain play that i dont understand 😂
Just like planning for chichen-itza and then chopping all the rainforest ha
He’s always all over the place lol
Hey potato, loved the video! I couldn't help but notice at the end there that your religion is about to get wiped even though you can buy missionaries with all the faith you have! In my opinion if you can defend it you should! Loving this play-through ))
I am sitting here going, he went exodus of the evangelist and is not trying to spread or defend his religion!
Potato discovers so much new stuff with the mods that he completely forgot to build industries. :D
I was waiting for this the whole day THANK YOU TAHNK YOU THANK YOU You just fucking saved my day, it was going quite crap before.
I’m sorry your day has been crap so far, I hope the rest of it is amazing!
@@manwithabasicprofilepic Thank you :)
I would say the Amphitheatre is better if you are going for a culture victory (more great work spaces) and the Assembly better if you are NOT going for a culture victory (makes your culture district more efficient, so you don't fall behind too much if you are not building many of them).
James, we have similar skills, but your knowledge and the way you use this skills is crazy - pure inspiration!! Thanks McSpud!
The religion Potato, THE RELIGION
This seems like a cool mod, I’d love to see a few different civs and win types with this.
Potato looses his religion by games end
you should place a barracks in between the mountains above Sippar. It is a nice chockpoint to defend from the Zulu because then only one attacker would be able to get in at a time..
5:45 Uruk be shaping uppp 🥔🤘
Potato has become Magnus, the chopper of all tiles
Every time you mention that the wonder videos look like Lego blocks I keep thinking, y'know, they should make a Lego Civilization game since they've made Lego branded versions of nearly everything else
I think that you need to build Petra in Kish, assuming it hasn't gone already. 4 desert hills tiles, with iron on one.
"Do i do a mausoleum game?"
I don't know, is this Potato?
I hope he doesn't forget to make missionaries before his religion goes away, otherwise that's production wasted haha.
Give the city a banana Potato
Potato's screwing around is everybody else's winning the game. 😛
Thankfully the only jungle you chopped and would keep was on the tobacco plantation. Which still sucks but not half as bad as chopping a lot then remembering.
Nice tempo, I think I would have pushed towards evangelize a bit sooner though, that faith is collecting dust.
Wow, just reading the descriptions, having clothier in your capital would be nice.
The main thing I learned from this video Is that not all Irish people can hold a tune
If you want to feed up your capitol, why don’t you take the Magnus‘ promotion for +20% growth?
i just started watching your videos, 8:30 please elaborate on this formation "Defensive Nut"
The Choppening.
razing a city because you want it one tile to the left 😂
I feel like you've done a lot of tourism victories, would it be possible to do another?
I think that there's an allegory about hammers and nails here somewhere. :P
I played with this mod about three weeks ago with China. I felt it was a bit too much, I felt pressured in trying to build certain things and it felt like time was just flying by. I tried it again with Ramses this time on historical speed and I felt it worked a bit better but what do I know 😊
What’s historical speed?
@@l0kpcr397 a mod for marathon research times and standard build speeds.
first game I played standard, did not seem like it was working out too well. I played the second game on historical, that was better I felt
@@patrickols that doesn’t answer my question. What’s historical speed? Is that a mod? Because the base game choices are only online, quick, standard, epic, and marathon
Ah yes sorry about that,it’s a mod. I’ve had it for so long I forgot it’s not part of the game but added with a mod. I usually play most of my games with it. In short the production is left on standard but research is marathon speed or maybe even longer a bit I can’t recall
hearing cistern instead of aqueduct really hurts my brain lol
My spam calls are about half in Mandarin Chinese and I get occasional ads in Spanish. I'm only fluent in English, so, well, hilariously mis-targeted there.
5 mins in realized the video was released 6 minutes ago.
I feel like this modpack is what a more detail orientated Civ game could be. Maybe as a mode (like Barb Clans & Monopolies), but I've always felt that the buildings in the districts & the tile improvements are a little too simplistic for a "civilisation building" game.
damn zoomerians and their new things!
Your mom made me change how I play the game
How about full T6 series with new units, great people and tech/civ tree mods?
I think the urban complexity adds too much stuff, which causes me to snowball earlier and faster. It just feels like too much
Choppenheimer
Those archers were doing what?
Hey Potato, I’d like to play the same map ! Can you inform me of the seed ?
having archers to WHAT to a city 🤨
which modpack is this?
I skidooldaled a thing before, it went poorly
6:30 i see a guy raze city and find out something
I can't get my Extended Policy Cards mod to work. I've unsubbed/resubbed, toggled it a bunch, restarted a bunch between all that obviously, and nothin'. Anyone have advice?
I believe with that mod you need another mod to get it to work, and I’m pretty sure it’s the Better Report Screen mod
potato pp
21 seconds ago?? OOHH. 1 view?? ooohhhh baby
a minute, that's fast...
been a while since ive played this game, but germany >>>
Frederick or Ludwig?
@@l0kpcr397 fredrick
I literally have like 1000 hours playing with JNR's mods (except 6T - I prefer the old tech tree). To me the game is too boring without them.
Day 29 of asking for the score victory
It’d make for an interesting video. I don’t think he could win before science diplo culture or religious victories but it’d still be cool to see him try
“I want the city to be in range for my- oops, it was” sorry all the civilians that were murdered that was an oopsie
