Play the tutorial bro hahahaha. The learning curve is tough at the beginning and it does take a bit of effort and attention but definitely one of the best survival games out atm especially once you get bored of single player and get into multi! Have fun and remember. THIS IS HOW WE DIE!
I did play the tutorial, I still Died XD
Basic tips:
-Close the curtains and turn off lights/tv/radio in houses or the zombies will keep trying to break in.
-For the love of god close the windows and doors after yourself.
-Leave the canned food for later, it'll last forever and you can always come back to it but its really heavy.
-I know it's tempting to just take everything but you can come back for it. Only take what's most important (small amount of food, weapons, medical supplies, tools). If you find lots of cool stuff just mark it on your map for yourself to come back to.
-Focus on trying to get a water bottle, backpack, some basic med supplies and a decent weapon to set yourself up with.
- Jogging or sprinting is loud and will attract zombies. You can outwalk most zombies so try to just stick to walking wherever possible.
-You cannot properly see directions you aren't facing. Just because something looks all clear doesn't mean it is unless you actually look in that direction to check. It's like when you're in your bathroom and you know what the rest of the house looks like even with the door closed so your brain fills it in but if someone has broken into your house and is standing there you don't know that until you see them.
Damn that's a lot, I'll try to remember all of it XD
@@zenkyler It's tough! It's very harsh and realistic, everything you do has consequences so just try to focus on the essentials and go from there!
Me, this whole video: My brother in christ, you are bleeding to death
You should really really look at your health (the heart) after being injured by a zombie. They can legit slit your throat, and you can be dead in minutes if you don't bandage it. You're lucky that didn't happen on this first run, or you would've just had no idea why you died. Or they can bite you, which is a guaranteed game over. Pretty sure that's what happened to you this run btw. You got nausea, a fever, terrified, and then your health started dropping. That is typical progression of the zombie virus.
I just played for the first time today too! It's super hard, lol.
as someone that has almost 1k hours in zomboid, its just got a BIG learning curve, the more you go the more you learn the more you'll love it, at least thats how it was for me. just a tip is don't be afraid to play around with the traits and sandbox settings to play how you want to.
This game is pretty great, esp with the mountain of mods for it. Been playing it on and off for years.
It's nice seeing just someone enjoying a game without any fancy editing or anything. Just goofing around trying to learn the game
Go into game settings and turn on aim outline for melee and guns,
C for Crouch
Don't use alt to run. Use shift to run.
F2 Pauses the game
F4 2x game speed
F5 3x Game speed
F6 4x game speed
Right Click to sit on the ground to regain stamina.
Right Click a Bed, chair ect to rest. It will give you a progress bar to show when your stamina is full.
You can combined these for faster stamina regen.
To stand up really fast from sitting on the ground.
Hold Shift then a movement key asdw
To open curtains Hold shift and then E
There is a lot more junk that game keeps a secret.
I was wondering, why there is no crouch, I've been spamming crtl XD, thank you for the tips~
@@zenkyler welcome
focus on the fresh food first hoard the cans later those last forever
Fresh food 1st, canned last got it, thank you~
Keep at it, you'll learn to love it. Also the wiki is very good to learn what you need to survive.
lmao you and my friends are the same. I made them play PZ with me, but all of them skipped the tutorial XD so I had to babysit them a lot
they got addicted to the game now tho, and we have a base now~
The Tutorial lies to your face about visual stealth
"how do i customize my character" (is on the character customize menu)
"so far i am doing ok" famous last words!!!
EDIT: i was sure you died from the bleeding....
XD
Hah don't worry everyone sucks at first. It is a slow game and it takes many hours to learn. Except for dying, that happens fast.
Little beginner checklist: rip sheets to get bandage. Get water bottle, fill it if you need to. Get weapon, knife is ok but trying pan even works. Long blunt is maybe safer like a pipe. Don't fight more than 1 zombie, just walk away don't ever sprint. Only jog a little.
W8 YOU CAN REFIL WATER BOTTLE? I actually don't know that I could do that...
@@zenkyler Yep! and you can drink from sinks and stuff for the first lets say week, it shuts off randomly between 1-30 days by default
