My husband is from Milan Italy and when we lived in Italy he told me that Cardinal Martini not only celebrated a huge funeral in the Duomo (cathedral of Milan ) for Gianni Versace who was a famous Italian openly gay fashion designer killed by his boyfriend but he also had the infamous Elton John (who hates the Catholic Church) sing for his funeral, inside the Duomo!!!! I was shocked and disgusted to hear that since in Milan he was soooo respected and loved by the masses which now I see the same with the Pope. Unfortunately the elect are few who follow the narrow path.

I spoke with someone who worked under Martini and he said that he was a very holy man who frequently spent long periods of time in reflection and study. There are gay people everywhere, I think Martini was only being respectful of what the Versace family wanted at the funeral.

An interesting tidbit, I was reading a little about the historical St. Gallen (St. Gall.) He is quite an early church saint, but from what little is known about him, I find it very interesting that he was quite popular and was actually offered the See of Constance when it became vacant, but refused the seat. Later, he was asked to take over governance of large monastery, but also refused that position as well. He said God called him to a life of solitude, and he would never take any rank or position which might involve him in the cares of the world! What a striking contrast to the ilk of the St. Gallen mafia, who seem concerned only with wealth, power, and position, to their own possible damnation and the ruin of the institutional Church itself!! St. Gallen, pray for us!!

@@thecatholicmouse the FSSP believe and teach many falsehoods including that the bread and wine after consecrated remains bread and wine "by accident s " and offer two communions at the lay communion. One that is very low gluten or "gluten free " and one of the normal matter, unleavened bread. I have this in writing from a FSSP pastor who also gives communion to infants.
SSPX is the only truly Tradition teaching part of the Roman Catholic and totally rejects post 1962 church New Order tradition. That church is very Anglican. The SSPX do not have Diocese or answer to any New Order Bishops, but we do know that the Pope is still Francis although we, like many, do not like a lot of what he says and does.

Great summary
I have a theory about why JP2 elevated those troublemakers even while they were openly attacking him. He was a man of deep faith, intense spirituality and had a very vibrant prayer life, all of which gave him the graces to do what he did for the Church. Given this, my guess it that the Lord wanted them to be promoted to pave the way for the revelations that are coming out now. The Lord wanted to make it abundantly clear just how steeped in sin and error whole factions of the Church are, and bring us to a day of reckoning where the Church cannot avoid confronting the issues head-on any longer. I praise Him for bringing His light to bear on all this!

JP2 had deep faith but is one of the worst Popes in 2,000 years (along with Francis) - i.e. the Assisi meetings, kissing and bowing to the Koran, claiming Our Lord did not descend to Limbo (against 2,000 years of Church teaching), apologising to the world for the actions of the Church, a good man but bad Pope.

At about the six minute mark your guest mentioned something very interesting to me. He mentioned biblical inerrancy as a hallmark of what I assume he means in his mind to be "true Catholicism." I've recently started on John S Harden's Catholic catechism - in the sections relating to the divinity of Christ and the older ecumenical council's he notes that as the 19th and then early 20th century archbishops and Cardinals, theologians and lawyers desired the adoption of modernism - and desire to see it spread throughout the church - that they adopted the views of Immanuel Kant and subjectivism. They determined that Kantinian subjectivism was the best mode for interpreting at least the nature and divinity of Christ. I understood Hardon to mean subjectivism in general view of the faith. Did this not happen? Or did that encouragement towards subjectivism somehow coalesce with inerrancy of scripture? I suppose it comes down to how they defined it? I have a problem with the way biblical inerrancy is treated today across Christianity because far from being clearly defined it seems to operate as an idea that suggests "inerrancy means all writers of scripture must agree on every single point at all times." At least it seems in the evangelical and protestant world that that is how it is defined. I hope I'm not too confusing here. Perhaps I am operating under the wrong premise that biblical inerrancy in Catholicism is second to the will and leadership philosophy of the pontiff at a given time. A good example to illustrate my point might be a the contentious point in chapter 8 of Amoris laetitia. In support of my idea about subjectivism the pope clarifies that it is in fact ones subjective culpability and the counseling of the priest that leads to the fitness of spirit to engage the sacrament for an individual in a "non traditional" union. Didn't Francis reply to the dubias in support of his ideas? Does he not continue to do so against great opposition from a large part of the church. This brings me back to my confusion about the statement of the good gentleman regarding inerrancy. This ties in right now with today's discussion on Saint gallan's mafia. Their whole point was to overturn what they considered the old and archaic and adoption of perhaps further modernism or even post modernism which would still have this subjectivism as it's roots. Forgive me for the boldness of this statement but where is there any room in today's Catholicism for biblical inerrancy - respectfully

Evangelist Nick Garrett. Dei Verbum and the Magisterial statements of the last century have laid a very solid foundation to understand biblical inerrancy. Dei Verbum also gives a definition of Sacred Tradition. It doesnât matter what happens with individual bishops (even the Pope), they are all subservient to Divine Revelation. They canât change it or teach contrary to it.
Let the record show that there has been no answer to the dubia submitted to Pope Francis about Amoris Laetitiae. That would have been helpful to have clarification on the controversial footnote.

You will find a variety of information regarding our academic programs, resources and current events. Mag, they may have gone against the rules and against the Holy Spirit, but the thing to remember is that EVERYTHING IN THE UNIVERSE IS EITHER WILLED BY GOD OR ALLOWED BY GOD. Popes have often been elected that, in hindsight, were not the will of the Holy Spirit. But that in no way means that these popes were not true popes. For example : "Pope John XII (937-964), who gave land to a mistress, murdered several people, and was killed by a man who caught him in bed with his wife." This is exactly what I am trying to do - I try not to be deceived, that is why I ask questions. There were false popes in the history, there was even a woman pope. I am fully aware that God is in charge of everything but He also respects our free will and He permits the falsehoods and evils caused by us. Therefore He may also permit the false pope to be chosen. He always brings about a greater good out of all evils that we commit. There are strict rules to choosing a pope. I just wonder what the consequences are when they are broken?

Good conversation. But I don't get where that idea comes from that Lutherans think that faith alone saves and the morality doesn't matter. Martin Chemnitz and Jacob Andreae - the authors of the Formula of Concord - both believed in the distinction between mortal and venial sin. And they taught that willful sinning casts out the Holy Spirit. So, I don't know where that lax image of Lutheranism comes from, that cannot be described differently than as antinomianism. I would highly recommend you guys to read "Christification" by Jordan Cooper.

Using youth in this way is not a silly idea. Itâs a Machiavellian tactic that seeks to exploit both the youth and the adults who want to be seen as supporting the youth. Itâs a scam to try and do an end-run around forthright discussion. If the scammers who design these things said what they meant and wanted in plain language they would likely be excommunicated (if the hierarchy actually followed doctrine, that is).
Most of the people involved are of course not scammers, theyâre well-meaning people who donât believe in Catholic doctrine and want doctrine changed.

Christianity is very simple - its about self-sacrifice for what is true and good and just.
But some people can endlessly twist what the words "true", "good", and "just" actually mean.
This is what has happened in the Roman Catholic Church.

'What makes a Catholic a Catholic is whether or not you believe in the inerrancy of scripture and in "Tradition" capital T, those two things together make the Deposit of Faith.'
By "Tradition" is it clear what is meant is the Catholic Church Heirarchy. In other words the "inerrancy" of that Heirarchy must be believed in.
But Dr Taylor Marshall says this :-
"We want our clergy, our cardinals, our bishops, and our popes to be saints, when there's controversy in the church, when there's debate, accusations, we want those to be false, we want them to "go away" - but if they are true they deserve an investigation".
Wanting an "investigation of" is not compatible with "believing in the inerrancy of" - in fact these are a direct logical contradiction.
"Believing in the inerrancy of" is blind obedience - just as is demanded by a secret society or a mercenary death squad.
The "Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith" to which Timothy Gordon refers is the modern name for the Holy Office of the Inquisition, the institution founded to torture and execute people who disagreed with the Roman Catholic Heirarchy - 'Heretics'.

'The pope is "general commander and spiritual leader" of the Catholic Church defending the Deposit of Faith.'
"General Commander" is a military term - Roman Catholic Church is a military organization. The Pope is "defending" the commitment to serve that military - to follow and not question any order. Because this allows family ties and basic human sensibilities to be over-ridden, paving the way for every kind of ultra-violence and depravity. It is a shattering of the human mind and soul, recast into a "super soldier". The words "Of Christ" are appended to confer credibility and righteousness. But these acts are crime and crime must be repaid.
Timothy Gordon says :-
'What makes a Catholic? Its not whether you believe everything that "this or that" prelate has said - its whether or not you ACCEPT EVERYTHING IN THE DEPOSIT OF FAITH'.
In other words a Catholic is a soldier within a military organization, committed to following orders. He is not a Christian, and a Christian does not fall within the definition given above of "Catholic".
A person becomes a Christian when they have decided to give over their own life for the one whom they love. Love of power and hatred will never triumph over the love of truth and justice.
"Surprise of the Holy Spirit" is the same language that the Episcopal Church has used. It's the language of despair.

Also, before st Galen a group met at a secret retreat called Shangrila on the road to it named Syberite owned by a Monsignor Murphy (deceased) Outside of Palmer Alaska where in 1984ish cardinals met and stayed a week. My memory has Sodano and Bertone and Martini were there. It was rustic and had a Bunk house.

If numbers that have been quoted in regard to the number of homosexuals in the Church is accurate then what can we do to change the tide on this issue? We all know what the issue is however I don't recall anyone saying, "alright, let's start here to make changes" or I've missed it.
The problem lies in wanting power and control. The hierarchy needs ousted and a repentant church arise. Rise up! My bishop asked the laity what the church should do about the abuse in the church. Can you believe it? The Church is already split.
What in the world is this? May God help us with the evil that has infiltrated our Mother Church.
There are about as many opinions about the pope and the current situation as there are Catholics. To me, it seems that when we discuss things with only second hand knowledge and try to draw conclusions in complex situations where we are not privy to all the details, then we are off on a wild goose chase. Francis can be anything you like, temporary hero to the NY Times and self-serving left, and a possible apocalyptic boogeyman to the right. Personally I just think he's kind of a lousy and unnecessarily divisive pope who seems suspiciously obtuse in his "teachings" none of which surprises me given we have, a Jesuit, and odds are any given Jesuit is probably at least a tad nuts. Be that as it may, we all feed the worms eventually, Jesus is in the boat, He is pretending to sleep, but maybe He wants us to have the leadership we deserve for awhile. After all the ancient Jews and their idols got nothing on us. To me, certain web sites have been chomping at the bit to unload this pope, I can sympathize, but in the end, they elected him basically king for life, so there it is.

I have been listening to your discussion and have to say thank you for explaining or giving an understanding from your view of faith alone, grace and the reformation. I would really like to have a face to face conversation with you - this internet communication is frustrating.
Maybe I have misunderstood you but it seemed that you were saying that your understanding of faith alone gives one freedom to sin and as long as one has faith, one is saved. From the view of someone who was born, raised and was very involved in the Catholic church and all it involved until I was nearing the end of one of my pregnancies including a miraculous healing during an earlier one. I've really been on a journey. It would be good to share. However, what I was wanting to say is that it is that as I read scripture, it is faith alone in what Jesus did on the Cross that gives salvation. This does not give one the ok to do whatever one might desire, be it sexual sin or other sin. Because one accepts the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, one loves Jesus and desires to please him in all things not consider it a free for all. His forgiveness is given to repentant hearts and true repentance leads to obedience.
Can you explain why sexual sin is an abomination to the Lord as scripture tells us?
We need an orchestrated effort to take back our Church, need to get back to the Doctrine. Tell us what we can do?

Iâm totally on the same page with yâall but I have a question Iâd love to see answered. If the current homosexual crisis is engineered by Freemasonry (and again, I agree with that), why are they them trying to cover it up? Why donât they want it to come out...is it because their agenda (normalizing homosexuality in the Church, reversing requirements for preistly celibacy, female clergy, etc...) has not come to full fruition?

I am a Subdeacon that is chocked about Pope Francis and I am following your intelligent discussions with much interest. There is one contradiction I don't understand. Perhaps you can discuss it in another Video. When Francis was elected pope I was hoping that the problem with homosexuality in the clerus would be resolved by him. All I knew about him was his fight against the mightyful familiy of Kirchner concerning same-sex marriage. www.ncregister.com/blog/edward-pentin/cardinal_bergoglio_hits_out_at_same-sex_marriage. This was everything else than peronism. For me he was a hero against homosexualism. Has he changed or did he say that only to make a favour to Pope Benedict?

I am not Catholic, but very much like Catholics. So, I have a question. OK, the Catholic Church and basically all Christian faiths are against practicing homosexuality. So, can a Catholic have a same-sex partner for life and then repent in the next life or are all Catholics saved regardless of what they do in this life? Or is this something that needs to be repented of in this life in order to go to Heaven? I am assuming it is not a sin to just be inclined towards members of the same sex, as long as a person doesn't act on it and doesn't have sex ever, basically. Of course, repentance is for us all who make mistakes.
My personal belief is that this life is the time to prepare to meet God, not the next life, but as long as a person who is gay doesn't act on it they are blameless and God will make everything right in the next life due to his Grace so the person doesn't have same-sex inclinations throughout all eternity, which would probably be rather annoying to eternally feel drawn to members of the same sex.

I'm rather happily married to my wife and am just straight, but I have probably six siblings who are all gay. Honestly, I believe all of them don't have sex currently in order to keep the commandments as they understand them, so I can't imagine they will be punished for just being gay.
Just curious how members of the Catholic Faith think about this.
Or, do many Catholics think it's fine to have a same-sex partner? I sorta get the impression the current Pope is extremely liberal, for a Pope, and secretly might not be against this and may come out more in favor of gay marriage, even, someday?
I don't have a big problem with gay marriage in terms of legality, but don't think it's right to be with anyone of the same sex. Mostly, I don't want gay couples being denied insurance and stuff like that and I figure it's not really the government's role to legislate this type of morality. I think some would see this as an attack on the traditional family unit to legalize gay marriage, though, on the other hand.
