Rybakina is such a great player. It’s almost impossible to beat her unless you’re Sabalenko or Iga and even then they must bring their A games. She has so much power and surgical decision making.
The sound of the ball hitting is so different for both players. One is like a gunshot with reverb while the other is like hand slapping the water surface!

@@cgins It seems way different between men's and women's matches, even if you account for day vs. night matches. My guess is that earlier rounds of the Women's side simply doesn't draw the crowd. Are tickets priced the same?

Slow clay will help her mitigate some of Sabalenka’s power like Indian Wells did last year.

She is on with a chance
26 winners and 15 unforced errors in an hour match is insane even for a basher against a counterpuncher generally there are a lot of winners but the unforced numbers are superior. Best match Elena played this year that I remember of course against a high-level player which counts the most.
I think she was better in her victory over Iga last month in Stuttgart. She wont 16 out of 28 games, had 10 aces, and won her two sets 6-3 each.
She can do a lot better

@paulchiu 6' WTA Slam winners were rare so I remember them quite well. Before Muruguza was Anna Ivanovic, and before her I couldn't recall. Maybe there was none. Maria Sharapova is over 6'.
I am happy that Svitolina is not mixing anymore politic with sport and shake hands with Elena. Possible she forgot that Elena is Russian born.

Her surname means Fisherman (Rybak), ina is the typical Russian ending for female.. Ironically Svitolina is also Russian surname..)

She doesn’t shake hands with Russian/Belarusian players.
Rybakina is Russian, her parents are in Russia. She changed affiliation in 2018 to Kazakhstan.
So Svitolina has to shake hands with Rybakina, as she now carries the Kazakh flag.

Female tennis they know how to break each others game. Its ruthless
Rybakina's style is similar to Pete Sampras. They both have incredible serves and lethal forehands. Their back hands are much different though. Pete's back hand was one handed like Roger Federer. Rybakina is a bad matchup for Iga Swiatek.
