    Long story short: the air fryer is really good with smaller meals. The oven is probably going to be better, or at least more efficient when cooking meals for a family or multiple people. The air fryer would also be quite a bit cheaper to run over time.

      Depending. My oven stopped working. And had to save up for one for a year. Bills and such came first. We used an air fryer that whole time to cook meals for a family of five. Mainly four. Five including my step brother when he came over. It’s not hard to cook big meals for family dinner in an air fryer. And when I was able to go and buy a oven I got one that had an air fryer in it. There’s other things about the oven we got. It’s funny especially on certain holidays/celebrations it will turn off. But it’s easy to cook for a big family meal wise with an air fryer. That’s just my experience with it. But if the family is way bigger than five then yes oven is needed !

      @stinkycheese804 Před 2 lety +2

      @@IvyBrooksHobkin No it doesn't unless you get one with a defective thermostat. On the contrary you can turn up an air fryer higher and the fan allows more even heat distribution but even better, it practically heats up immediately so there is no 10 minute pre-heat like with a normal oven to reach the target temp. I can cook most things in half the time in an air fryer, start (including starting to pre-heat the oven) to finish.
      However, it's extreme stupidity to choose to air fry, then use a may wash, and bacon. Idiot, the whole point was to reduce fat not to self contain the more dangerous types while a deep fryer would have dissolved away some of those and replaced them saturated into the food with healthier vegetable oils.

    Imo it's kinda hard to compare they each have their purposes. Personally I find i use my air fryermore often. I have the power xl vortex pro it has a rack system and rotisserie system rather then just a basic basket. You can fry whole chickens on rotisserie or I have the rotisserie skewer set up that I just made country ribs with and boy they were amazing. But if I wanna make something like a casserole then obviously the regular oven is the way to go that's why I say it's hard to compare they are each in their own realms. Also with air fryer it's more convenient for many foods then preheating and essentially using way more either gas or electric to use a oven to just heat up a single portion of one or two thing's.

    • @VindictiveMoose

    My Standard oven is a Convection (Fan) oven. I bought an Air Fryer a few months back and it's been my go to. Due to its size it doesn't need to be as hot and cooks at a lower temp. It can take some experimenting tho. It's definitely a bonus in hotter weather and I'm now able to cook joints of meat and whole chickens in. Sometimes it's not quite big enough to cook a whole meal but if I'm cooking Fries, Onion rings and chicken nuggets I put a rack in it and put the nuggets on that. The whole lot is done in 18 minutes. Whole Pizza is probably the only thing I've not cooked in it as many don't fit,.so that's all my standard oven gets used for now. I have used it to reheat left over slices at 4am tho, and they come out great.

    Having a Toaster oven and an air fryer is the best combo since you can cook some bigger things in the toaster oven that don’t cook well in the air fryer, make toast, and get the crispy and efficient results of the air fryer.

    Great Video. Air fryer for the win, love the air fryer we have, also here's a good tip, you can cook almost any frozen food like the ones in this video, by setting the temp to 390-400 degrees, and using 12-18 minutes time, cooks almost anything perfectly in the air fryer, Corn Dogs and Onion Rings and Hot Pockets are amazing in the air fryer also.

    The fan makes it a miniature convection oven which does a few things. First of all, it crisps things up better across the board, it Cooks things faster due to the air circulation, and is a lot more energy efficient. The minor deficiencies that you found could be addressed by a higher quality air fryer, something that's true of any appliance.

    I was initially apprehensive about how well the air fryer would perform cooking for my household of seven. It seemed like it would be too small. However with a couple of after market racks it has done an excellent job. My only complaint is that it needs to be washed every time it’s used for oily or greasy foods, or anything that drips onto the bottom. With an oven things are usually cooked on a tray or sheet, which also needs to be washed but the grate at the bottom of my air fryer is formed with grooves and holes which are much harder to clean than a flat surface. I use a stiff sink brush but it’s still a lot harder to clean.
    As far as results cooking go the air fryer is usually superior with the exception of large roasts and a few other things that won’t otherwise fit and given that grease and oil are not retained against the bottom it’s more healthy.
    This does not even address the substantial energy savings from the smaller cooking containment and need for cooling due to heating the indoor environment.
    The same goes for induction cooktops.
    I’m remodeling my kitchen and the next range will have a combination induction/resistive cooktop and convection/conventional oven.

    The air fryer is essentially a college students best friend. Had one for my last year of college and used it to air fry chicken patties for sandwiches and its so crunchy and perfect. Hearing the dino nuggets crunch was how my chicken patties sounded. Also was fun using it to make a cheapo pizza using bread and sauce and cheese.

    My oven broke keep getting a F90 error on it which could mean anything, but I got a Ninja Foodi 3 in 1 (?) for my birthday 2 years ago and you know what. I don't really miss the oven. The air fryer makes chicken, bratwurst, hamburger (put foil on the bottom to collect grease), corn dogs, jalapeno poppers and Salmon in it and I much prefer it over the oven. They taste better and if you brush oil on the chicken and salmon.. it's sublime. Mine also has pressure cooking and can make home made soup,rice,vegetables and mac & cheese. This invention is (In my opinion) the best culinary cooking device made. I do want to fix my oven for things like casseroles (the foodi CAN do that, it's just easier with a oven), bakes and turkey (been using a crock pot, if you do this, use grapes to keep it moist), but for the most part the foodi rules!

    Personally I prefer my Belle tabletop pizza cooker.
    I cook most things in it from mozzarella sticks, pizza pockets, pot pies. Quesadillas, fried eggs, frozen sausage patties, reheats pizza like new or better, frozen pizzas and probably even more.
    I used my first one so much that where it bends it wore the cord out until it suddenly started sparking. I immediately unplugged it & went to order a new one. Best part is that it doesn't heat up my apartment when I use it.
    Best appliance I've ever bought. Only $30 too.

    Air fryer's are just another appliance like a Microwave or an Oven. It has it's place and isn't trying to replace anything ( besides maybe a deep fryer but it can't to dough so not really )
    It's super odd that most people shy away or think people are just pushing a fad when something actually just works that well.

  • @HadesImmortalArmy
    @HadesImmortalArmy Před 2 měsíci

    an air fryer could be classified as a convention oven, but a super simplified version of a standard convection oven. Most ovens in houses or apartments are not convection ovens because they are considerably more expensive, hence why the traditional stove is still used so often.

    I think mostly it is for things like dorms where they might have room for a microwave and mini fridge. It is like a microwave, but cooks like an oven... and likely faster than a toaster oven. You can like crisp them more in the over by turning on the broiler for the last minute. I rarely follow the baking instructions. The big thing is that it is FAR better than a microwave.

    Yes, This is a miniature high end stove. It's great for people who don't have the luxury of 2000$ kitchen appliances
    Now if you get better air fryer, Things with racks and rotating baskets, then the difference becomes more clear. a bucket style air fryer works great for little things like fries and nuggets, but for thing that take longer to cook it tends to burn before its finished all the way through, and if you have one where grease can drip, it makes pretty good bacon and burgers

    loved the video. i think the chicken strip one may have just been an anomaly in the breading. i love my air fryer, but for anything with toppings, like your pizza, i typically preheat mine, and then give the item a couple minutes in it without being on so the cheese will start to melt and your toppings dont go flying everywhere. i'm sure as the industry advances, you'll be able to buy one that just has a pizza button on it or something so that the fan starts out slower in the beginning so that stuff doesn't happen though.

    LOL. We have the Ninja Double aifryer, and we love it. It's way faster then a oven and we make lots of food in it. Not like the first airfryers that were slow and terrirble. The only thing with airfryers is, that the airfryer cooking time on the box is not reliable at all and you have to experiment with it for the best result. Just keep the cooking thermometer at hand and let the temperature tell you when it's ready.
