What would the same crash look like at top speed?
I currently have a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6 which basically is almost the Lexus ES 350, and we’ll they both share the same structure, basically I now know that I have a really good chance of living if I crash into another car which is the moderate overlap test, but crashing into a pole or tree then I’ll probably be dead
“Eh it’s gonna be the end of the world , people will die anyways!” - Lexus 2012
I was in a 2008 Lexus ES that was T-boned by a Grand Cherokee recently. The car was totaled but I walked away unscathed!
A lot of 2012 lexus cars got a poor rating :(
Not just Lexus vehicles, but a lot of Toyota vehicles received a poor when this crash test was brand new.
@@porothepotato well yeah they’re both basically the same
@@porothepotato that because they recicle theyr chassi
@@porothepotato it's not exactly fair because the other manufacturers got a head start to redesign their cars before the official testing started. such as the 2012 honda odyssey gets preliminary poor, and once they redesigned it it got a good in 2014
whereas the honda pilot gets a poor because they didn't get the chance to redesign it
There was injuries recorded
Given that the moderate overlap and side crash test ratings for the 2007-2011 Toyota Camry both carry over to the 2012 Lexus ES 350, does the small overlap rating for the ES 350 also apply to the Camry?
Yup
Don't think so. ES350 is like Toyota Avalon not Camry
@@jacek2227 back then the ES 350 was based on the Camry, after like 2016 it was based on the Avalon
The ES 350's small overlap rating doesn't apply to the Camry and they're tested separately (Even though their performance back then is pretty similar)
My mom has one, looking at this makes me afraid...
im afraid of woman driving cars too
@@dimamash1575 Can't doubt that lol.
@@JDMLegend715 😂
@@dimamash1575 me when my mom drives way better than my dad
I have a 2011 and had a 2010 it saved my life
My math teacher has this car so that’s good ☺️
I have the same exact car
Was very near to buying one of these. Glad I didn’t
WHATS HAPPENING TO 2012 CARS TO 2013 CARS THEY DIDNT EVEN PASS THE CRASH TEST!!!!!
I wanted to buy this model of ES, but it's not safe enough
Is this model also comparable to the 2007-2010? Or would it have different results you’d suppose
@@apanda probably worse, but i'm not sure if any changes were made to improve the crash test rating. go buy a 2013+ Lexus es. They are much safer.
Hello?

They just turned on comments
For a luxury car, how come they didn't have side airbags in 2012, the average car had them
Even though it was a front impact, the side was affected and most cars would deploy it
Many vehicles weren't programmed to deploy side curtain airbags in this type of crash when this test was first rolled out.
That because is just an facelift, the tehnology is not from 2012, but yeah they could just reprogrammed it to pop, shame
I think they can t, is not a tesla
@@iihs-hldi how much does that effect the safety overall like I know the 2013 xc60 was tested in small overlapp and gets a good but it shares the same structure as the 2009 Model would that be able to achieve a similar result.
