J. Cole and 21 Savage have such complimentary flows and deliveries. They are both great in their own ways too but hearing them work together is always a treat. I think the fanbases are generally really similar too which is nice to see likeminded people collide every time they collab. I hope someday I can gather even a tenth of the amount of fans with the perspectives that theses two fan bases have for my own music. Truly unmatched energy🔥

All major labels pay for their artists to have followers and streams. They can literally make anyone a celebrity over night.
that's not true, major labels don't even build artists based off talent anymore, not even remotly. To get a foot in the door at these majors, YOU NEED A FOLLOWING ALREADY.
The one hit wonders we're a thing in the 90's and prior. It ended fully when streaming started.
BUT YES, a major WILL PUT MONEY into each and every single/video on top of it. But not to create a new fresh fanbase from jump ... that's old practice.

Look at Tory Lanez. He live streams on Twitch and CZcams. Makes song and posts video of him making song. Then post a master lyric video. If it hits, makes a real video for it and if it really hits…release the song to all streams. He just turned the part where the industry charges the artist to make music into a stream of income and multiplied over 5 times.
Take this clip for instance. There’s a full length that could be exclusive to their members or patreons. They missing out on the live stream part. I guarantee there’s another money stream that’s being missed.

Just cuz you buy streams doesnt mean you lack the talent or are a wack artist; it may just give u the push to get your foot in the door to a major label to get the financial backing you need to blow up.
I get the strategy but feel like that's going about it the wrong way. U can spend that same money and (more importantly) effort into creating true growth. Spend it in advertising for example and let real ppl check it out. If it is actually good and ya deserves the push, it will happen.

The problem with buying streams is it does artificially inflate numbers which do not translate to a loyal fan base or genuine appreciation for one's music. I understand it's about getting money and making sure the label doesn't screw you over but there is a downside to buying streams.
Buying streams don’t equate to selling out tickets at shows, that’s how you can tell
