As someone who leans towards bright, clean audio, this is a great remaster. I usually EQ the highs up when listening to this album so this is perfect. The spread and colour is marvelous.
Ugh I have goosebumps hearing all the instruments and synth patterns so clean. Just had to comment again; really beautiful rework of this older album. I’m so happy I found this 🥰

I tried remastering Fuzzy Blue Lights once with some of my own software but couldn’t quite separate the instrumentals and vocals to get a very good sound. I clicked only thinking I would listen to some of this and listen to the rest later but after the first few seconds I was hooked and finished the whole thing. Absolutely amazing work! You may be getting an email from me pretty soon. :)

No, it was not possible. I had full mixes, that I had to do processing on. I didn't have multitracks or stems. But yes, I did try to control those vocals by applying strategical processing on the whole mix, while still making the final mixes sound bright to shift the focus of the listener from the artifacts of lossy encoding that were present in all of the official mixes. If I had not controlled the high end, then it'd have become hard to make the mixes sound bright, without them sounding extremely harsh and fatiguing. The final mixes you hear in the video are still bright and may sound a bit harsh, but they are not extremely harsh as they would have been, had I not controlled the high end, during the processing. I feel like he used something like Melodyne to manually tune his voice rather than having the computer doing it for him.
