Both super cool cars…but one has groceries and 3 kids in it. The other doesn’t haha
They’re both suv’s also they both were going at least 20+ over the speed limit so to say they weren’t racing is just being blind

Fun video. I wonder what the outcome would be if the Rivian was in "Sport Mode"? You can tell by the ride height that it was in "Normal, or Conserve Mode", which limits the power.
@douglasfloyd4539 we would never know. Next time I see them I'll tell them to put in in sport mode

Looks like a dual motor or dual motor performance plus, the quad motors have the yellow brake calipers.

Stock st is a 13s car. Rivian is an 11s car.
Unless that thing is heavily modified, you’re gonna have a bad time and it will be terribly unreliable. I’ll take the rivian any day.

@execlon Apparently, the EV wasn't trying lol according to everyone else. It weights 7k lbs and run the same numbers as a e50 tune ok the explorer. The explorer is way lighter 4800 vs 7000 lbs

In ANY real race the Rivian would destroy your Explorer. Good grief if that thing was in Launch Mode you would have need binos to see the back of it after 5 seconds. Granted EV range isn't near the same as ICE but pure drag race no ICE can come close.
Go watch the Cybertruck towing a porche while racing a porche. It beats it bad. The Cybertruck is horrific ugly but pure performance ICE vehicles are WAY outmatched.
That Rivian if it is the quad motor has over 800 HP. Double the Explorer. Instant torque as well.
@Futurase1 835 but 7k lbs 3.3 0-60 11.6 in the quarter right about the same numbers I run. I'm lighter by 2500 lbs and have the power. Save it!
@@XpolrerST the lighter weight helps but the instant torque would gp you bad enough you'd never catch up. No combustion engine can match the instant torque. Top end you probably have more top end but instant torque would gap you to bad to ever catch it in a drag race of any normal distance.

Watch the engineering explained video on how the cybertruck didn’t actually beat the Porsche. Yea it’s fast but it didn’t beat the Porsche in a quarter mile drag race. He has a video with the math side and one where they actually did the race
@@XpolrerST idk, your receipts show that you ran a 3.72 sec 0-60 on your way to an 11.78. I'm not a mathematician but I'm pretty sure 3.7 is slower than 3.3, and 11.78 is slower than 11.6. But hey, with just a few more mods, you'll be just as quick as a mid-performance Rivian!
