I’ve refurbed and opened two Restaurants and a Bar in my Hometown over the years.
I can honestly say it was the most stressful experience of my life getting them open, so many small problems came up every day.
But what I will say is at the end of a busy opening night and your having a Corona, standing back and looking at what all your hard work has achieved it’ll all be worth it.
It’s hard work but very rewarding, keep a cool head don’t fall out with each other and best of luck with it, we will be in to support you when we are next over 😊👍
The bars looking great, so sorry to hear about the problems your having with electric and cars being broken into though, a very stressfull time for you both , and it's taking it's toll on you. I hope you can spend some quality time together somewhere nice before you open up, you really need it. Take care it will all be worth it in the end. Xx😊
It will all work out , this is always going to be a stressful time with a business already up and busy , then dealing with the problems of the new bar -but it’s looking great and Laura looks so excited and happy xx

Good to see you have the spiced rum and disaronno as was our last tipple on the night! I agree with another comment that Madri or similar drink would be really nice and would expect would be very popular but understand it what’s best for you. I feel your pain Andrew & Laura, I owned a bar up in Tamaimo for just over a year, trying to get things sorted was a nightmare, I had to close it because they saw we were doing well so decided to double our rent, not a tight enough contract, i,am sure as a already experienced business owner you will not fall into the same trap. the place has been empty for the past 5 years, so there loss.Good for you because now ill have to drink in yours.😎

you are both getting there. Lots of stress but it will be worth it. I love laura's cocktail glass. When I was in Serville a few weeks ago I had a cocktail served in that style of glass. I loved it. So special rather than a ordinary glass. Looking forward to the big reveal

It’s looking great. You’ve put so much work into it, no one will notice any small imperfections (if there are any ) when the bar is fully furnished. The cocktail glasses are fabulous, I’ll be there at the end of November to try them out. 🍸🍹

Looking fab so far… my only critique is the lamp shade/ light in the bar the black wire one … I think you need more of a statement one … it looks cheap against the lovely bar and glasses etc.. sorry if offended .. love love love everything else so far ❤
It has to be small and simple as to not block the view to the TV’s, we like it and it wasnt cheap lol 😆
I must confess if I’m out for a drink watching TV would be the last thing on my mind 😂 unless music videos, but then I’d be up dancing! 💃🏽 xx

You paid for a painter to paint the walls, they should be doing the 2nd coat if its needed and ensuring edging is done properly. Dont pay them for a half arsed job.

Hi Andrew, a good solicitor should have ensured all outstanding debts where cleared in full up to the day of the sign over. Having said that where you are now from day 1 is fantastic, congratulations. This bar will most certainly be a success because the two of you will make it happen. Also if 50% of your followers visited the pub regularly it will be a huge contribution to the bottom line. Well done
I think either a horizontal mirror or a horizontal mirror art mural of something of your choice would be nice on the back wall near the down stairs (I remember you saying you didn't want a full length mirror incase of damages etc) great job guys looks absolutely fab. How's poor Laura gonna reach that 3rd shelf Andrew? Again great job can't wait to see more progress. Unfortunate to hear about your cars, it's common sense to not leave personal belonging in a viechle in an unfamiliar place wether its home or abroad.

Good to see you have made good progress with the bar. Dorada is always a reliable beer as brewed locally. In The U.K. I always buy imported beer made abroad unless it is bitter in which caseI buy local. A lot of so called ‘designer’ beers are brewed here under license and do not taste the same.
As for the name, if it is not Striders another possibility is Garveys!! Good luck.

We had the same problem with the electric in our bar in Lanzarote, they say 24/48h for the electric to reconnect so the following day we just put the main trip switch down waited a minute or so then put it back up and it came back on. The company never got back in touch to say it was back on either. Hope this helps
